Ending Of A Facade

"This is very heavy." a man complained while Shyla gave him the many bags and boxes that were filled with treats, dessert, and plenty of food. "Does the princess really need all this?"

"She likes treats and it will be a long time before she'll have these again." Kanene said while crossing her arms. She glared at the man who sheepishly smiled at her.

The man swallowed and looked the other way. "Please stop glaring at me like that miss." Kanene only rolled her eyes as he bit her lips. "Besides, can you blame me? Aren't Valtis women mostly concerned with their diet?"

Shyla sighed. "Not all of them. Where have you heard of that?" Shyla muttered while walking past him. Kanene followed Shyla as the man quickly came after them. The man laughed as he looked into the two women.

They looked at the huge ship that was by the docks that had the royal family emblem on it which was a huge cobra with four flaming eyes and a tongue. The cobra also had small spike horns on its head. It was made of gold and the rest of the ship was brown with gold decorations.

"Well, I heard from some men at the bar that most Valtis women are fair-skinned, bright eyes, and very elegant." Kanene and Shyla turned to look at the man as he spoke. " I'm pretty sure our prince fell in love with a pretty Valtis lady."

Shyla opened her mouth to speak but Kanene shook her head. "No. Wait till he sees her."

Shyla blinked before shrugging her shoulders. "Whatever." The man got on the ship and Kanene and Shyla followed him. "So, Akeem said that he packed up our equipment for emergencies."

"You're usual rooms." the man called out. Kanene and Shyla nodded their heads as the man kept talking. "Also, someone named Ten is already here. He took the room next to the princess. He said that he was coming with you to pick up the princess."

Kanene and Shyla cocked an eyebrow at the man. "Ten is coming with us?" Shyla asked.

Kanene frowned. "Isn't he too young?"

"I'm only fifteen years old." a youthful voice called out as the two women looked at the smaller young man. He was still dressed in his shadow uniform but the hood on his head was gone. They could see a tousled black hair on his head as he walked over to them. "I got my parent's permission and everything."

"Why are you coming with us?" Shyla asked as they climbed up the huge ship. Once they made it to the top. Kanene stood before him. Shyla narrowed her eyes at him. " Isn't your mission here?"

"No. My new mission is to watch over the princess until further notice." Ten said with a shrug. Kanene and Shyla groaned. "Hey, you two will be very busy."

"But she's not comfortable with you." Shyla said to him. The man went to put the food in Abidemi's room while Kanene went to get changed. Ten shrugged his shoulders at Shyla as he followed after Kanene and the man. Shyla frowned. "How would we know you won't hurt her?"

"Because my whole household would be demolished if they hurt another royal. Especially a princess candidate. " Ten said while Shyla cocked an eyebrow at his words. Ten looked at Shyla as he snapped his fingers. "Oh, yeah. You don't know the history of shadows yet."

"History? What history?" Shyla asked. Ten shrugged his shoulders.

Ten turned and walked away. Shyla followed after him. "Let's just say that some shadows are there because they committed a great sin to Valtis and Elov. Those shadows have no choice but to pay."

Shyla glared at Ten. "Why did you become a Shadow?"

Ten faced Shyla and hummed. "Because I want to." Shyla cocked her head at him. "My mother said I could take part in this family tradition and I wanted to. So here I am." Ten looked away as he walked past the rooms.

Shyla sighed. "You're an odd one." Ten only shrugged his shoulders.

Ten hummed. "I know," he said while he headed to his room. He stopped before looking at Shyla. "By the way. I let the princess's cat out in her room. I didn't think the poor thing should stay in the crate all day." He closed the door as he went inside.

"Thank you." Shyla muttered as she arched an eyebrow at Ten. She only shook her head as she headed to her cabin to get changed. Once inside she noticed it had a big bed in the middle and enough room to walk in. Kanene and Ten room was probably the same way while Akeem and Abidemi had a much bigger room. Something that was a bit bigger than the captain's quarters.

Shyla looked at the bag on the bed and sighed. "Well, I guess it's time to end this facade." she muttered. She opened the back and smiled. "Here we go."

" SHE WANTS TO KIDNAP ME?!" Abidemi almost yelled while Daisy frowned and Eden nodded his head. The three were on the way back to The Wheatfire Estate. Abidemi clenched her clothing as Daisy bit the inside of her cheek. "Why does she want to do that?"

Eden sighed. "Well, the Duchess of Blacklake said something about Mother wanting Demi to marry into the Blacklake family." Demi's blue eyes grew dark as Eden sighed. "Lady Blake won't let you marry him. In fact, she said that you were too good for him."

Daisy scoffed. "She is. Heck, any respectable noble lady is too good for him." She crossed her arms and looked out the window. "Who wants to be the third wheel in the Mila and Logan romance?"

Abidemi sighed. "So what's the plan? I can't go home and I can't stay with Daisy."

Eden smiled sadly. "Well, the plan is for you to leave tonight."

Abidemi sat up straight while Daisy looked at Eden in shock. "Tonight."Daisy whispered. Eden nodded his head. She narrowed her eyes at Eden. "Why? Why tonight!!"

"Mother planned to kidnap her tonight." Eden muttered. Daisy groaned. Abidemi frowned deeply. " She is going to take Prince Akeem's ship to Elov. Akeem is coming with her."

Abidemi's eyes widened. "The prince is coming too!"

Eden nodded his head as he looked at Abidemi. "He's been called home early to bring you along."

Abidemi's eyes lowered as he frowned deeply. "So he knows."

Eden sighed. "He always knew." Abidemi arched an eyebrow at Eden. "It's one of the reasons why he was staying at the main house."

"Because of me..why …" the carriage stopped.

The door was suddenly opened to reveal a girl with long copper blond hair that was in a low ponytail. Her light green eyes shone through her glasses. Her skin was pale ivory as she looked at the three with lowered eyes. She wore a long white blouse with a brown vest and a matching long skirt. She had a green bow tied around her neck.

"Clover." Daisy said in surprise as the girl named Clover reached her hands out. Daisy frowned and took her hand. "You don't have to do this."

"I do. Mother said that Aunt Freya is here. She told me to take the three of you out back and sneak into your room." Clover said while she helped Daisy out. Eden got out as well to help out Abidemi. Once everyone was out of the carriage Clover closed it and quickly led them to the back.

"Won't Freya know we're here?" Daisy asked Clover.

Clover shook her head quickly as she led the way. Walking around the huge white mansion as they followed after her." Mother is entertaining Aunt Freya in the sitting room with no windows. She also instructed us to wait for number Ten, Kanene, and Shyla."

Daisy and Abidemi looked at the blond-haired girl that was leading the way. "Who's Ten?" they asked at the same time.

"One of Akeem's and Sebastian's shadows." Eden said. Daisy and Abidemi looked at Eden with a frown.

"How did you know that?" they asked at the same time.

"Later. "I'll explain it to Daisy and Akeem will explain it to Demi. What matters now is to get Abidemi in something that doesn't stand out and her on the carriage out of here." Clover said to them. Abidemi and Daisy looked at each other. The more Clover spoke, the more confused the two became. They finally made it to the back. The servants spotted them and quickly motioned them to come over.

The four followed the servants as they took the servants' entranceway. Abidemi and Daisy wanted to ask questions but decided that it could wait.

Clover did say that she will explain later.

As they took the path to Daisy's room, they noticed that the curtains were drawn together. As Clover looked to be on her guard as they moved quickly. Once they made it back to Daisy's room. Clover told the maids something as the two maids nodded their heads.

Clover sighed then looked at Daisy and Abidemi. " Okay. Let's get this done in a hurry."
