Chapter 5: Gift Exchange

"I'm so sorry," I replied. The pain in my body was so bad, I could almost not breathe. "I should have listened to you."

"What do you mean, it's not your fault, it's not we had bad luck," Leo replied. "Let's exchange gifts." I could hear the pain in his voice and noticed he could almost hardly breath as well. "You first." I took a deep breath and pulled out the necklace.

"I know what you're going to say," I said knowing he was going to scold me for it because it was an opal and look where we were.

"Baby, you knew I wanted this, I told you it was bad luck," Leo said calmly, he seemed to know something that I didn't.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Both of us died in the dream, it was so real, and this is exactly what happened, what we said, everything, even what I'm saying now and doing now," Leo said and pulled out a ring box and gave it to me.

"Leo?" I asked, stunned as I opened it.

"I was going to propose to you tonight, but by the looks of it both of us won't make it, you know how long the police will take to get here," Leo replied.

"I've been waiting for you to propose to me," I replied in shock and excitement.

"Will you marry me, Klara," Leo asked.

"Yes," I replied as my arms started watering. "I love you so much."

"I love you too and you can't move, can you? I can't either," Leo chuckled softly.

"No I can't, and who passed away first in the dream," I asked.

"Neither," Leo replied.

"You mean?" I looked at him.

"At the exact same time," Leo smiled. Things then started going black and I noticed that Leo was losing consciousness as well, so I relaxed and it went completely black.
