Window Boy

Ellie walking into her knew apartment taking in the musty smell. She set her bags down and looked around. The apartment had tan cracked walls, dusty windows, old carpet, and dirty furniture. Not the best place this was to live nor was this the perfect neighborhood but, it would have to do for Ellie, considering she is still in school and only has a part time job.

She was on her second year of college and she was pretty lucky to even get this. Before now she was still living with her parents which she didn't like very much. It wasn't very impressive to tell her friends she still lived with her parents so she promised herself she would save up enough money to rent an apartment until she was out of school.

She considered herself lucky to not have to buy her own furniture as it was already there. In the middle of the small living room was a blue colored couch with a dusty lamp beside it.  Across from that was the room to the VERY small kitchen that only had a microwave, counter, toaster, and mini fridge.

She made her way to the bedroom, walking down a hallway. She stopped at the bedroom door, looking up and down the hallway. At the very end she saw a door which she assumed was the bathroom, and a door beside that which she thought was the storage closet.

She turned the silver knob and opened the door (which she had a little trouble with). In the right corner was a mattress that didn't even have bed frame to hold it off the ground and beside the door was a dresser which she has yet to put clothes in.

She stepped into the room walking over to the widow at the side of the room. Ellie sat down on the window seat, looking out the window. She looked down to the concrete sidewalk below the 10 stories. She opened the window to get some air considering the air conditioner was said to be broken. She slid the window up getting hit with a cool breeze.

Ellie got up from her seat grabbing her bag she had brought to the bed room. She opened one dresser drawer, only to be met with a bundle of disgusting cockroaches. Ellie screamed and jumped back about 3 feet. She covered her mouth with her hands feeling sick, she was quick to kick the drawer closed.

She heard a snapping sound come from the window. She turned around fast as lightning and what she saw surprised her.

The window had shut.

Ellie starred at the window, ready to run for her life.

Ellie made her way fast out of the room, almost running into the door. She speed walked down the hallway and back into the living room. "It was wind Ellie! Or maybe a bird ran into it, or it slipped closed!" She told her self out loud.

Ellie had never experienced something like this and didn't know what to think of it. In about 20 minutes Ellie had gotten over it and decided to go to bed. It was pretty late now and she had to school tomorrow.

She cautiously tiptoed into the bedroom looking around for anything that might surprise her again. When she didn't see anything she straightened her posture and changed into a T-shirt and shorts for bed.

She looked to the mattress on the floor. 'I swear to god if there's bed bugs' Ellie thought to herself. She quietly made her way to the bed after turning off the lights, laying down on her side. She closed her eyes trying to falling to dreamland.

Right as she was about to fall asleep cool air hit her body making her open her eyes. When she did, she saw a dark figure sitting on the window seat beside the open window. The figure (that appeared to be a boy) sat with his knees to his chest, looking at the moon shining in the sky.

Ellie sat up on the bed alarmed by the strange boy in her bedroom. "What the hell are you doing in my bedroom?!" She nearly yelled while trying to stand up.

This boy could be a robber or some type of kidnapper!

Before she could even take another step towards him, the boys head slowly turned to look at her, making a cracking sound as if he had just dislocated his neck. When Ellie saw his face though she nearly screamed. He had bruises everywhere, a bloody nose which was broken in a weird position, road rash on one side of his face, and he was basically covered in blood! He seemed to be crying where as tears were leaving his eyes but, he still had statistic smile plastered on his face.

Ellie couldn't breathe anymore. Somehow she just couldn't take a breath. She watched in horror as the boy slowly started to lean towards the open window. Ellie's eyes widened when she realized what he was going to do. "No!" She shouted but he just kept leaning with that creepy grin. Ellie screamed and ran over to the window.

He had really just purposely fell out a window.

ON THE 10TH FLOOR! Ellie stuck her head out the window looking down expecting to see a smashed body laying on the ground below, but.... nothing was there.

Ellie squinted her eyes still hanging out the window. All of a sudden she felt a small nudge from behind her. She hurried to get all of her back into the room, accidentally hitting her head on the top part of the window. She fell backwards onto the floor looking around the room. She slammed the window closed, making sure to lock it and close the curtains. She sighed picking up her phone to look at the time.

Ellie has to be at school in 7 hours.

"I must be crazy" she said wiping nervous sweat from her forehead.

She wasn't able to sleep after that incident. She was always looking over to the window to make sure the window boy wasn't sitting there.
