CHAPTER SIXTY FIVE

Feifei gasped. His eyes wide in surprise.

"Really???!"

"Of course. I heard it from a reliable source." Yanyan patted her chest in confidence.

"Half the mountain in your village vanished out of thin air, right? After that, different people from different villages snoop around the mountain."

Vanished out of thin air? Feifei snorted.

How can anyone see?

Yuan's spiral appeared in a blink and disappeared just as fast as it came.

The villagers even assumed that the thunder and lightning was normal.

They just deduced it as a sign of an incoming rain.

A temperamental rain that changed its own weather arrangement and did not come.

Feifei sighed.

"Yes, I heard Yuan say a lot of people come and go to the village these days." He even warned him not to go around arbitrarily.

Yanyan laughed.

"Now, someone from the bookkeeper's village came to explore around the mountain and happened to see the scumbag with the third party. That's how they stumbled on the truth behind the abortion."

"But despite learning about the third party, the bookkeeper's daughter still wants to marry that man! The woman even threatened to kill herself if she will be separated from that scumbag."

Feifei was speechless.

"She still accepts that man?" Feifei asked doubtfully.

Yanyan nodded her head.

"Feifei, I will go with you to your village this weekend, okay? I heard from a source, of a "higher authority", that the bookkeeper will go to your village and search for the third party."

Are gossipers an organized system now?

And Yanyan is acquainted to one of those authorities in the higher hierarchy? Feifei is astounded by his thought.

If these group of gossipers are mobilized, wouldn't it slaughter a lot of people with their tongue wagging?

Feifei stared at Yanyan with complicated eyes.

He cleared his throat.

"What is the name of the third party?"

Silence.

"I don't know. But wherever the noise is, let's just follow it and we will eventually know, won't we?" Yanyan figured out.

"uhm."

"Then Feifei, let's join in the fun! I'm excited! It must be a very thrilling scene!" Yanyan said with twinkles in her eyes.

Feifei chuckled softly.

"Then let's go with the flow. It must be interesting to watch."

"Then let's make an appointment together this weekend. After work, I will come here and look for you!"

"Okay."

So the show is scheduled this weekend.

Feifei took a deep breath, set aside his other thoughts first and started to write his proposal, "Isolated Explosion for Fast Moving Salt Extraction".

When he was done with the proposal, Feifei's thoughts started to drift again to his favorite past time.

Over-thinking.

He wondered why there are some people who still put up with their undeserving partners even knowing these partners are no good.

Is it because they are blinded by love?

Or.

Is it because they already invested too much that they feel a loss if they let go?

Isn't it a further loss if they continue to endure with it?

Feifei is confused.

With such a partner, what could you love about them?

Surely not the character. Unfaithfulness is not a good attitude to have.

Maybe the looks? But surely there are other potential partners who must be more good looking.

The benefits? What benefits can you have if its already a loss at the beginning.

The moment your partner is unfaithful and you accept them, you already lost your self respect, your dignity, your pride. Its a big loss!

If you feel a loss with the memories, time and money you invested on your partner, then wouldn't it be more of a loss if you continue to tolerate them while the scumbag secretly traipse like a peacock attending to different ladies?

Or is it because they are waiting for their partner to wake up and change?

If they changed and become a better person, would you still trust and believe in them?

Or.

Would you end up being suspicious of your partner everyday?

Feifei frowned in contemplation.

In the first place, why do some people look for someone else when they already have a partner?

Could they be looking for someone else because they see you as someone lacking?

Do they just see you as someone that represents their fantasies and got fed up with it?

Or they see you as a mirage of the person they hope to see but you failed to live up to their expectations?

Your undeserving partner might see you as someone lacking and imperfect, but that's maybe because you are only intended to be perfect to someone meant for you.

If you continue to stay with your undeserving partner, how can a new person come into your life if your glass is already full?

Do you still fancy these old, murky water?

Shouldn't you pour out the old water first so a new one can fill up the now empty space?

To repair something, you have to break apart the pieces, look for the damage and set everything right.

Following this reasoning, its not about falling apart, isn't it? Its about things falling into its right places.

But if you still accept such an undeserving person, then is it really true love?

So the heart really is superior than the mind's judgment and rationality?

The mind is defeated by the heart. But surely, the eyes won't tell a lie?

They say, to see is to believe. Would the heart believes what the eyes perceives as truths?

But not all that we see are truths.

Feifei ended up even more confused with his jumbled thoughts.

However.

Today, he learned another lesson.

The mind is about gains and losses.

But the heart is about decisions and regrets, forgiveness and second chances.
