Change of plans 4

"You are lying. You are just saying that so we can move out of here because you hate seeing me happy with white boys." Amber said, raising her voice.

Daniel got up from his seat, glaring at her.

"Don’t call me a liar because of the lover that molested you and bullied you in school." Daniel said. His words were like a thunderclap and tears welled up in her eyes.

"How can you say such a thing? He never molested me." She protested.

"He did. Didn’t you say he raped you? I can’t believe you are still hanging out with the guy that stole your virginity against your will. If it was up to me, he would be behind bars." Daniel ranted.

"He didn’t actually steal my virginity; I gave in because I was drunk!" She snapped.

"Wow, so the cat is out of the bag. Who is the liar now?" he said, poking her in the chest.

"Enough!!" Mr. Darlington said, with a deep voice, and they both turned to look at him.

"The both of you haven’t grown up. You are still the old Tom and Jerry." Mr. Darlington said.

"She just confessed to lying and making me beat up an innocent guy for no reason. I bet you feel guilty. That’s why you are dating him. I don’t think you know what love is." Daniel said, staring at her.

"Stop it, son, you are acting like a kid here." Mr. Darlington said. Daniel was taking a short, shallow breath as he glared at Amber and folded his hand.

"Amber, why did you tell us he raped you when he didn’t?" Mr. Darlington asked, turning to look at her.

"I don’t know if this is considered rape, but he got me drunk and we both ended up sleeping with each other. I wanted the sex, though I don’t know why." Amber said.

"That’s because you weren’t in your right mind and I think you are sexually attracted to him; I won’t call that love." Mr. Darlington said.

"I do love him, dad. I just realized a few days ago when he saved your life." Amber said.

"A gesture of kindness isn’t considered love Amber wake up to the real world. The majority of girls your age fall for bad boys, while others fall for handsome guys, caring guys, or even brave guys. Just a gesture of kindness will make you think you are in love with him. Trust me, I have been there." Mrs. Darlington said.

"Mom, you too. I thought you said you supported me a few days ago. What happened to that?" Amber asked.

"You supported her?" Daniel and Mr. Darlington chorused, staring at Mrs. Darlington, who gulped.

"I did when he paid for your hospital bill. I was impressed." Mrs. Darlington said, smiling nervously.

"I can’t believe you mom; you also fell into his trap just like Amber. Dad, I think we should pack out of this neighborhood. That’s the only thing that will keep Amber focused on her studies. I think those white boys are a big distraction to her." Daniel said.
