Chapter 34: The Royal Visit

Roy receives his Science test papers from Mr. Date. When Roy sees his scores, he instantly is disappointed in himself.

'77/100... Damn...', Roy thought.

"Watch yourself Abellona-san. With scores like that, you might lose the position that I believe you can achieve.", Mr. Date warned Roy.

"Thank you, sir. I'll remember that...", Roy weakly said.

Yua watch as Roy walks back to his chair. Yua sees Roy's disappointment in himself. Yua looks at her test score.

'93/100.', Yua read it in her mind.

Yua then remembers something, remembering that Roy is training them.

'Roy must have a hard time answering that test since he didn't have time to study. He didn't have time to study because he's busy training us three. I also heard that Roy and Kage-senpai do jobs at night with the principal... Hmm... Maybe...', Yua thinks.

Yua then looks over at Sara. Seeing her test paper to see that Sara has a perfect score. Yua then places her hand on her shoulder.

"Hey, thanks again for inviting me to your house so we could study together.", Yua thanks her while closing her eyes and smiling very brightly.

"Your welcome, Yua. So what do you want?", Sara asked.

"Wha-what?!", Yua was surprised by this.

"Come on, Yua. We've been together for years now. I know what face you'll make when you want something from someone.", Sara caught Yua's true intention.

"Nooo.....", Yua said weakly.

"Now, tell me what do you want, Yua.", Sara wants her to spill the beans.

"Well... It's about Roy.", Yua said as she leans in.

Roy's ear perks up when he hears his name, not knowing where it's coming from.

"What about Roy-san?", Sara whispered as well.

There it is, Roy hears it again. Roy turns around to see Yua and Sara whispering to each other. Naturally, Roy put his head down and listen to their conversation.

"Judging by what Mr. Date said, Roy didn't have a very high score that he would expect Roy would have.", Yua explained.

"Oh... So you're saying that we should ask him to join us in our study so we can help him out? Is that correct?", Sara asked.

"Yes!", Yua whispered shouting.

Hearing this, makes Roy change his perspective of Yua. The image that Roy had for Yua…sort of changes.

"Maybe I judge you too harshly...", Roy said to himself.

"So, can we go to your house after school?", Yua asked.

"No can do. Dad is bringing important guests to our house. Very important. So important, that I wouldn't even invite you there.", Sara explained.

"Wait what?! Who are these very important people?", Yua questions Sara.

'The village leaders of my clan's allies with the people they wish to bring along.', Sara thought.

"... I don't know... Dad just told me they are very important people. They're VIPs.", Sara lied as she breaths.

"Wow... So that's how VIP stands for. Very important people. Nice!", Yua commented.

"That's not how... Never mind...", Sara gave up.

"So if we can't go to your house later... Maybe we could go to my house!", Yua suggested.

'Her house? Huh, I wonder what it looks like.', Roy thought.

"Well if your parents would allow Roy-san to come then I have no problem with it.", Sara agreed.

"They will. I'll ask him now.", Yua said before facing Roy.

Roy then pretends to sleep. Yua then shakes Roy to which, Roy looks at her.

"What?", Roy asked.

"Would you like to join us in a Group Study at my house?", Yua asked.

"No.", to which he immediately rejected.

"What?! Whyyyyy??????", Yua whined.

"Nah, I was just joking. I'll cancel today's training.", Roy was just kidding.

"Phew! You freaked me out for a second there.", Yua wipes off the sweat that's on her head.

"I'm trying to learn how to joke. Did I do it well?", Roy asked Yua's opinion.

"Oooh, how cute! You're trying to learn how to joke. You did well, Roy-kun. You did well.", Yua said as she pats Roy on the head.

"Call me Roy-kun again, and I'll triple the difficulty for your training alone.", Roy threatened Yua.

"EEEPP!!!", she immediately pulls her hand away.

Roy then smirks, making a gun with his hand, and points it at Yua.

"Gotcha.", Roy was joking again.

Yua then pouts, not liking the joke Roy made.

"Do that again and I may never invite you to our Group Study again!", Yua exclaimed.

Roy just chuckles at her suffering. Yua pouts even more. Suddenly, Alvin enters the scene.

"Yo! What's this Group Study you were all talking about?", Alvin asked.

"Oh! Roy had some problems with the test, so I and Sarah are planning to help him at my house.", Yua answered.

"Ooh! Ooh! Can I join? I'm also trying to improve myself as well.", Alvin requested.

"Sure, what's your score then?", Sara asked.

"86 out of 100!", Alvin showed his paper.

Yua and Sara are impressed by his score while Roy silently hides his test paper, not wanting to show his paper to anyone. Especially Alvin.

"By the way, have you heard of another rumor besides the last one?", Yua asked.

"What's with you and rumors?", Sara commented.

"Hehehe! I just can't help but hear it from people. Anyway, from what I heard, someone in this school got saved by the Shadow Warrior.", Yua told the rumor.

"Shadow Warrior? Oh! That guy. So they're calling him that huh. It's actually a fitting name since he usually hides in the shadow...like a ninja...", Alvin began thinking.

"You got a point there, Alvin. They act like a ninja. Speaking of which, we have one here. Do you know who this guy is, Roy-san?", Sara asked the Ultimate Ninja.

Both Yua and Alvin almost forgot that Roy is a ninja. So they both look at him intently and curiously waits for his response.

"No comment...", to which Roy just said and looked away.

Roy just stares at the window beside him. Sara gets the memo but her 2 other friends don't.

"Come on! If someone has a big chance to know the Shadow Warrior, it's got to be you, Roy!", Yua exclaimed.

"Yeah! Are you hiding something?", Alvin backs her up.

"Sssshhh!! Quiet down, you 2.", Sara tried to shush them both.

However, it's too late. The whole class hears it and is now beginning to form theories.

"Wait, does Abellona know the Shadow Warrior?", the fat kid asked his friends.

"He seems like the guy to know such things.", their smallest buddy said.

"I don't know... He seems like he's just misunderstood by his friends.", the thinnest member of the group responded.

"Shush... Ichika is looking beautiful today...", their nerdy friend is horny once again.

Roy just sighs. Another reason for people to talk about him and gives Roy more attention. Roy hates more attention.

'The thing about me and Daitan seems to disappear but then comes something new... Thanks, friends...', Roy thought.

The four of them are waiting in a hall, waiting for their senpai for it was lunchtime. Until they see a bunch of ladies in a hall and approaching them. This confuses them.

"I...don't think that's Kage-senpai...", Yua said.

"Huh, I mean they're some women in Kage-senpai's harem but not this much. Not the majority of it.", Alvin backed her up.

Then they hear a bunch of men in the opposite hallway. They look over there to see Varari walking in front of her harem.

"That's Kage-senpai. And I think I have an idea of who might that person be.", Sara pointed out.

"Who is it theeeeeeen?...", Yua stuttered off seeing that person.

"Hello, mates!", Prince Graysen greeted.

"Haha-hiiii, Prince Graysen~...", Yua replied while blushing.

'I forgot that Yua has a crush on him.', Roy thought to himself.

"Oh my... Why is the Prince of England here? Is it because of last Saturday?", Varari asked the Prince.

"Well no, deary. Though, thanks again for taking upon the challenge to defeat the minotaur, Abellona Roy.", the Prince thanks Roy once more.

Roy just nods and looks away, crossing his arms in the process and not wanting to elaborate even further.

"Wait?! You fought a minotaur?! Half man, half bull?! That monster?!", Yua was surprised to hear this.

"I'll explain later...", Roy said; still looking away.

The prince coughs, clearing the atmosphere and getting everyone's attention as well.

"Do you mind if I eat with you all?", the Prince asked.

"YES!!! WITH ALL PLEASURE, YOU CAN JOIN US!!!", Yua yelled immediately.

Sara facepalms herself seeing Yua act like this. Alvin tries to hold her laughter. Varari giggles at this. Roy...keeps ignoring the prince.

"So, what do you think, Roy? Should he come to eat with us?", Varari asked Roy.

This causes everyone to turn their attention towards Roy. Roy just sighs, not wanting the prince to join them…but…

"Fine... Just don't bring your fans with us...", Roy agreed.

Roy shakes his head at what he said. Roy then starts walking away, wanting to get this over with.

"Well, you heard the man! Lez gooo!!", Yua followed him.

This causes everyone else to follow them. Except for the prince's fangirls.

"Sorry ladies, but you heard him. See you all later, I guess.", the prince told them and left.

"Aaawww...", the ladies said in unison.

"Oh well then, come on girls. Let's eat.", One of them said.

They all nod at this and begin following them, following the prince to "eat together".

Along the way... Varari approaches Roy and they start whispering to each other.

"Why are you always so aggressive towards the prince, Roy?", Varari asked.

Upon hearing this, Roy looks back to see Prince Graysen talking to Alvin. Seems to be busy. Yua seems to be jealous of Alvin while Sara talks to her. Then Roy looks back at Varari and gazes at what's in front of him.

"He knew that I'm a ninja. And no, I haven't told him that. He probably knows that you're a ninja as well. That's why I'm tense when near him; I can't trust him.", Roy whispered back.

Varari's eyes widen, then she also takes a look at the prince, finding the prince suspicious. Varari then looks back at Roy.

"So you're saying that we should keep our guard up when near him.", Varari said.

"Mhm...", Roy nodded.

"Ok! I'm going to do it. Kage-senpai, wait!", Alvin called out to Varari.

This causes everyone to stop. Varari looks behind at Alvin, holding something behind him.

"What is it, Johnson?", Varari asked.

"Ple-please... Call m-me Alvin...", Alvin nervously said.

Alvin seems to be sweating. Afraid, even. Feeling nervous as well.

"Oh... If that's what you want then, what is it, Alvin?", Varari confidently asked.

Alvin seems hesitant to show what he's hiding. Seems like he's too afraid to do it. Until the prince gave him a pat on the back.

"Come on, show it to her.", Prince Graysen gives him a push.

And a push is something Alvin needed. Alvin exhales and shows the thing that he is hiding behind his back.

"Here!... You... You can have this chocolate box...", Alvin showed a heart-shaped chocolate box to Varari.

"Oh... Thank you, Alvin.", Varari actually appreciates it.

Varari took it and held it very delicately, holding it like it is precious to her.

"Nobody gave me a box of chocolate before, thanks, Alvin.", Varari thanks him.

"Hehehehe! I'm honored to be the first.", Alvin replied.

Seeing this, Roy's hand turns into a fist and his eyes are filled with anger. Then Roy realizes what he's feeling. Jealousy. Roy tries to calm down and undo his fist. Roy sighs and looks away. Varari then looks away and approaches Roy.

"There you go. I told you, you could do it. You just need some confidence.", Prince Graysen wraps his arm around Alvin.

"Haha! Thanks again!", Alvin said.

"Alright, enough... Let's go now before times run out.", Sara said.

"Mmm! That Tempura tastes really great Roy.", Varari said after tasting Roy's tempura.

"Thanks, I made it myself.", Roy said before taking another bite.

They are all on the rooftop and it is crowded. Most Varari's and the prince's fans are here. Saying that they're here to eat as well. Seeing how Roy gives her one of his shrimps, making Varari's fans even more jealous. Especially how Varari enjoys it. Roy can feel daggers on him.

"Damn him... And his shrimps...", boy 1 said.

"Kinda makes me wonder... Is a way to a woman's heart is through their stomach?", boy 2 asked.

"I guess so... Since she seems to enjoy it.", boy 3 replied.

"Dammit! I wish I know I could cook like him...", one of them said.

Roy facepalms upon hearing this, not liking the attention he's getting. The prince then gets curious.

"Oooh! Mind if I taste it as well, Roy-san?", The prince asked.

Roy's mood then changes to an even sourer one, but he sighs and nods. Using his chopsticks, Roy picks up one of his remaining shrimps and puts it in his mouth. Prince Graysen chomps it down and chewing it lovingly.

"Oh my! This is delicious!", the prince exclaimed.

The girls and the in-betweens start talking to each other after hearing this, murmuring with each other upon seeing this.

"Wait, will he also have the heart of the prince? Not only he has the heart of the most beautiful girl in school, but he's also trying to get Prince Graysen's as well.", one of them said.

"Abellona Roy is a threat!", one of the girls yelled.

Roy covers his face with both hands in embarrassment for he is cursed with the ability to hear from afar. Meaning, Roy is the only one hearing all of this. While Roy's feeling the heat of everyone on the roof, the prince tugs Roy's sleeve. Roy looks at the prince, annoyed.

"Thanks for the shrimp by the way. Here's a tip!", Prince Graysen handed him folded paper money.

"Alright, I'll go now. Sayonara!", the prince said before leaving.

This causes most of the girls to leave the rooftop as well, leaving behind the boys. Along with some girls. Roy feels the folded money the prince gave to him. There is something in the folded money. Roy opens it to reveal a written tissue paper inside of the now unfolded money.

'Meet me in the back of the school. Now. We need to talk about something. Just you and me. Don't bring anyone else. See ya there!', Roy read it silently.

Roy crumples the paper and tosses it aside, not wanting to talk to the prince in private but Varari catches it midair and opens it. Varari then reads it quietly. After reading it, Varari quickly leans towards Roy.

"Roy, the prince needs you.", Varari whispered.

"I know, but still... I can't trust him.", Roy replied.

"Maybe this is important, Roy. You should go, nonetheless. At the very least, try to trust him. Make an effort.", Varari tries to convince him to go.

Roy looks away, thinking very thoroughly. Roy then looks at Varari again. Varari nods at him. Seeing this, Roy rolls his eyes and sighs.

"Alright... I'll go...", Roy whispered.

Roy stands up and makes an excuse.

"Excuse me, I need to go to the bathroom for a sec. Those shrimps did a number on me. I'll be back.", Roy said before leaving.

"Oh ok. Be quick please.", Sara pleaded.

Roy then leaves the rooftop. Sara looks over to Varari's fan, terrified at them. Then they all get swarmed in. As soon as Roy left, Varari's fan then comes charging in. Squeezing them together, like pancakes. Just to sit next to Varari. The rest, however…

"Roy-saaaaan!", Sara yelled as the crowd tries to be near Varari.

Roy grabs the handle of the door. Roy senses a holy aura on the other side of it. Roy sighs first before opening it and he sees Prince Graysen, standing there. All alone. The prince greets him with a smile while Roy just leans on a wall, crosses his arms, and shows an annoyed expression on his face.

"What do you want?", Roy decided to get to the point.

"I see we have someone who is impatient.", Prince Graysen replied.

"Just spit it out. What do you want us to talk about?", Roy scowled back.

"Ever heard of the... Freedom Fangs?", Prince Graysen asked.

Roy reacts after hearing that name, knowing what the Freedom Fangs is. The prince takes notice of this.

"I see... So you have... It seems like you also have met these maniacs.", the prince said.

"So what if I had? What are you going to tell me next?", Roy questions the prince.

Prince Graysen walks near Roy and gives Roy a concerning look. Roy is caught off guard seeing the look on the prince's face.

"Be careful. These people are not the kind to trust with. They may even attack you if you're in the way. In which case, you are.", The prince warned Roy.

"Wait, what do you mean that I'm in their way?", Roy asked again.

"Abellona Roy, the Ultimate Ninja...is under the control of the principal of this school. I heard that he declined their offer, which means that you also declined them as well. They want to kill me, and naturally, the principal wants that to never happen. So if I'm in any danger, he would probably make you my bodyguard. In both the shadows, and the daylight.

The Freedom Fangs know this, so they may take you out first before taking me out. That's why I'm telling you this, I'm warning of the danger that is coming for the both of us. So be careful, especially those friends of yours. They may take them as a hostage if they so want to and use them against you.", Prince Graysen explained.

Hearing this, makes Roy rethink the prince. This makes Roy trust Prince Graysen a bit more. Roy looks at him and nods.

"I'll keep this in mind... Thanks, prince.", Roy said before grabbing the handle of the door.

The prince pats him on the back.

"Your welcome, mate!", the prince said.

Roy smiles before leaving. Then Roy's smile leaves, realizing the danger he's in but for now, he heads back to the rooftop.
