Ch~Thirty>Five: Mercenary Mission Rewards
"Jae!!!"
"On it!" A voice said and so a swift shadow glided shortly in the air. Shurikens appeared on his hands and he hurled them at the injured beasts below him, accurately piercing their heads making them fall to their death.
Jae skillfully landed on his feet as he looked at the dead beasts while the system immediately notified him about the Chakra Points he had gotten. Hearing the sound behind him, he turned around and saw the Mina walking towards him with a tired smile.
"Don't complain, you're the one who insisted in coming in the first place" Jae spoke up.
"You never said we would be going for three days straight. Besides, why do I feel you keep getting stronger as you kill beasts. It's almost like how the Mythical Duo digest beast cores" Mina said as she arrived by his side.
"I warned you, you insisted. Well, its a good thing we had this jungle in the backyard. It makes hunting easier. You also made progress since the last three days too, right?"
"I guess ya right. I'm now in Level 8 and ya in Level 9 along with the Mythical Duo. I can now summon things easier. Let us go back now, please"
"Sure, I already tested the abilities of my rewards. It's quite satisfying. So I have no qualms going back" Jae said as he prepared to move back to the Hunter House with Mina. Four days ago, he had received his Mission rewards and also discovered that the others had also gotten their rewards earlier than him.
[Flashback]
"Alright. Every newcomers had collected their mission rewards, except for brother Jeremy here, who's luck came crashing down at some point.." Jackie's voice echoed in the living room making Jae's forehead twitched with veins as he heard Jackie mocking his lucks, earning laughter from his colleagues. It was not his fault he encountered one of the menace of mankind in that area. It was even looking for him.
Jae then thought of something. He remembered that Jackie didn't mention the type of rewards he would get. Jackie had walked out of the room the moment he finished giving him his mission.
"Wait a sec, Mr Jackie!" Jae's sudden voice interrupted Jackie's words. Jackie and the others turn to look at Jae. Seeing their questioning gazes on him, Jae immediately said.
"Mr. Jackie, remember when you were giving me my mission, you never mentioned my rewards like you did with others! So I was wondering what the rewards were and it made me confused"
"Well, you might have gotten that incorrect. I did mention your rewards like the others. Right?" Jackie said turning to the other people in the house. The three sophomores were looking sideways trying to avoid Jackie's questioning gaze.
"Well, that's already a bygone. I have your rewards here and whether you like it or not, its up to you. Lemme make this clear to you. You won't be getting missions from me again. From now on, you go to the Mission Hall to get your missions and according to the missions you take, you get the corresponding rewards" Jackie waved his hands trying to let everyone focus their attention back on the current issue. He then took out a white box which he materialised out of thin air. He placed it on the table in front of him and opened it.
"Your rewards for this mission are one E-Rank Skill Book, Mystic Mind and one E-Rank Weapon, Soft Sword. Whether you like it or not, not my problem. if ya dissatisfied, go take a mission from the Mission Hall to complete and gain rewards you like" Jackie said and looked at everyone in front of him. He noticed that the rest were already walking away, leaving behind Mina and Jae.
He even heard some of them muttering about why they were needed to be there in the first place. They thought he was gonna announce something important.
Sighing, he also left the room making Jae approach the white box. Inside the box, he saw a little bronze colored book. On the front cover, it had Mystic Mind written on it. Somehow, Jae can't seem to open it. No matter what, the book won't bulge.
"If ya wanna open it, you have to drip your blood on it" Mina who was beside him said. Her sudden voice made him tense for a moment before he realised that she was the one beside him. He didn't even noticed.
"Really, is that how you guys did after you got your rewards?" Jae asked
"Yes, now hurry up. I guess this reward is okay since ya lacking a sensing skill"
"Yea, it is" Jae said as he bit his thumb 'damn! it hurts! animes made it look easy' and drew blood from it which he dripped a drop on the book's cover. In the next moment, the book suddenly opened itself.
Jae took it and read a little bit of it. He was happy to finally get a skill for perception. He stored the Skill Book away and took out the weapon. Jae then realised that it wasn't named Soft Sword because it was a soft sword, rather it was very durable. The reason it was called that was before it was very flexible, able to bend itself in many ways.
He noticed that he got E-Rank rewards while the others received F-Rank rewards. Well, that's to be expected since his mission was a little bit harder than his colleagues. Feeling happy for his gains, plus system rewards and all, he felt that he can quickly become more powerful than he ever expected. He decided to go on a training spree to battle beasts. Of course, he would first learn to use the skill he got before anything else. Mina also insisted to come and Jae couldn't beat her resolve to follow him.

Having reached the Hunter House, Jae and Mina talked for a while before going their separate ways. Although these three days in the forest was great with Mina following him, he had to act dense at some of their conversations. He could understand her feelings for him but somehow, he just wasn't ready for such emotions leaving Mina disappointed.
Jae immediately went to his room and slumped on the bed while calling the system with his mind. One of the things bugging him now was still the System Eyes. He knew something like that won't be ordinary. But before he dived deeper, he needs to do something about his Shop Points which was more than a whooping thousand.

First, sorry for the chapters not been updated in coordinated manners. I'll have to say that I've been very busy and its only during when I'm free that I indulge myself in reading and writing.
