Ch~Eleven: Suicide Missions [1]

''Beep!'' ''Beep!'' ''Beep''!

Jae woke up to the sound of his C-Net beeping repeatedly. Getting of his bed, he yawned while looking at the not so bright sunlight that indicated the day. Very quickly, he freshed up and looked set after all, today, he was going on his first mission as a newcomer. He had no choice since it's tradition. 

On this mission, Jae wore a purple shorts that reached a little above his knees and a black long sleeved T-shirt that has a long neck collar that slightly covered his lips.  He equipped a ninja gloves in his hands before donning a black headband which seems to match his raven purple hair. He got all this outfits from Jackie. The others also requested for cloths and they got it. Putting everything else inside his [Storage Space], he embarked downstairs. 

Jae, Soji, Sol and Mina would have to depart by 12pm for their missions. Looking at the time, Jae saw that they had about 5 hours left to depart. When Jae came down, he immediately noticed the others at the dining table and were just about to start eating. 

Renee saw Jae coming down and smiled at him ''You're just in time to join is for breakfast. Come and sit'' she pointed at the empty seat between Soji and Sol which Jae proceeded to sit on. 

''How come y'all are up earlier than me?'' Jae asked and then got a snort from Mina who mockingly said ''Do we look like we trained for almost twenty four hours without food and rest? Please, we are not freaks'' 

Jae could understand Mina's words but what did she mean by'we're not freaks' Jae thought as he looked at Soji who was eating more elegantly than a lady and Sol who was eating like a starved beast. 'They are also freaks!' Jae shouted in his mind.

At the Hunter House Backyard, a young teen could be seen doing some exercises. He then stopped what he was doing. He had about more than four hours left before he departs.

After the breakfast with his colleagues, he quickly went to the backyard to train. He had to become stronger and since he was going for a mission, he needs to at least level up.

He remembered the system gifting him enough chakra points to level up. Thinking this, he called out his system and added his chakra points to level up.

Jae immediately felt the strengthening of his body and mind. He felt power coursing through his veins. He felt that he could uproot a tree with just a punch.

He wanted to test his power now so he first started jogging and then, the jogging turned into running. He confirmed that his speed and agility had increased a little bit as he was running faster than before. He quickly came in front of a giant boulder and shot out a punch.

"Crack!"

Jae couldn't believe his eyes. Although the boulder didn't break apart, the little cracks on it indicated how strong he had become. He was very excited.

With the system, he can quickly become stronger than his peers and do anything he wants. Now that that phase is over, he went back to the spot he was at first.

Although he just leveled up, he didn't want that measly little power to get to his head. There were a lot of people younger than him with advanced levels that could kill him with just a finger.

He still had more time so he decided to train more. He hadn't tested his Chakra Extraction Skill so he sat down cross legged and started practicing the skill.

Chakra is the resulting form of energy when two other forms of energy are mixed together. The two energies are referred to as "physical energy" and "spiritual energy''.

After more than 5 minutes, Jae started feeling a hot substance in his abdomen which he guess was chakra. Like that, he continued practicing the skill while getting familiar with the chakra and soon, he got a notification from the system.

Because of his current level in Chakra Extraction Skill, he could only extract 5 Chakra Points every 5 minutes. He cultivated chakra for an hour and got 60 Chakra Points. This may seem slow but it was actually very fast to Jae.

He then stopped because of his sore legs and checked his Chakra Points which showed 60.

He then started to practice his Chakra Control Skill and Hand Seals Skill and brought their level up. He remembered he had a new skill gotten from Chakra Control Skill, Chakra Flow Skill.

Having the knowledge, he started practicing it by making his chakra flow through his energy pathways and nodes in his body. Although it seemed crude at first, he soon got the hang of it and started progressing.

Doing all this, he managed to level up his skills

Feeling satisfied, he quit the training section and started to rest. He had about two more hours left before departing.

'It's been more than a month since I got here. I hope Celia is okay. Is she thinking about me?' Jae thought about the girl he had as a best friend and also as a girlfriend.

He smiled when he remembered when they both did that....

'Hmm Kasha... that bastard! I promise to deliver my judgement the moment I see him again' Jae angrily thought as he thought of a black fiend.

"Jae! Jackie is here! Let's go see our missions!" A voice brought Jae out of his thoughts. He saw Sol waving at him while shouting. He quickly followed him and went into the house.

He saw Jackie on the couch and his peers standing in front of him.

"Alright now that every one is here, I'll begin. I'm going to announce your missions so in the next hour, you're expected to depart from here and bring good news to me" Jackie said while looking at his disciples. He then activated his C-Net which displayed an hologram with a photo of Mina on it.

"Mina Rogers! F Rank Mercenary of Netherensis!

Your mission is:

Go to the Snow City Zone. Hunt down ten Level 1 Dire Beasts, five Level 2 Dire Beasts, one Level 3 Dire Beast. All this beasts must have an intact Beast Core and the time limit is a month.

Reward for the mission:

One Level 5 Beast Core and an F Rank Skill Book" Jackie said.

For a moment, everywhere became silent. Mina wanted to say something but the look on his face didn't allow it. Mina sighed and went back to her room. Although the rewards was very tempting, she didn't know if she could really accomplish such tasks at her current level.

After that, Jackie looked at Sol and Soji before he started speaking. Whenever he speaks, his tone gave no room for discussion.

"Solomon Davenson and Soji Kusen! F Rank Mercenaries of Netherensis! Your missions are:

First Mission- Find and bring back a Crystalline Ocean Tears from the Desert City Zone. The time limit is a month. This mission would be shared by you and Soji Kusen. Each of you would bring back 2 Crystalline Ocean Tears

Second Mission- Kidnap a baby Desert Scorpion from a Level 3 Desert Scorpion. The time limit is also a month and the mission would be shared by both of you.

For the rewards: Two Level 5 Beast Cores, two F Rank Skill Books and two F Rank weapons.

" Jackie said without a change in expression. His playful appearance was no more there. He looked very serious. Sadly, although he didn't give any room for discussion, Sol would always be a brute brain. He was about to voice out his refusal when he suddenly shivered in fear.

When he looked up, he saw Jackie staring at him with a nonchalant expression but that expression screamed something else in his head. He quickly excused himself and walked out obediently with a confused Soji behind him.

Renee and the others pretended as if they didn't notice this action. No, rather, they noticed it but didn't interfere. They don't seem to care about it.

Now with others gone, only Jae remained. Jae remained calm and didn't lose his cool. He just stared at Jackie and waited for his mission. But deep down, he was nervous.

"Jeremy Styles! F Rank Mercenary of Netherensis! Your mission is: ..."

'This is it! My Hunter Life Starts Now' Jae thought while waiting for his own suicide mission since others had gone to do theirs.
