Gerri left Jackson behind, though part of her knew she should bring backup just in case. But even more than ever she hated the idea of needing someone to watch her six. The bubbling anger she normally carried with her felt agonizingly close to the surface the last twenty-four hours, and she wasn't in the mood to deal with other people's crap.
Which worried and infuriated her all at the same time. She snorted into the cool air of her car as she pulled up outside the shelter. Guess Cici's therapy wasn't doing much good.
Right. Like it was the therapist's fault Gerri was a train wreck waiting to happen.
