Never

As a child, Garen thought that everything he was given in life was only natural. May it be his family, popularity, simply a life like a modern noble. He was always treated as a prince when he was a child and his character developed from there on. Every children wanted to play with him, his mother always told him of how handsome he is so, he had confidence with his looks. A young prince that grew in the adoration of people.

Everything he had was predetermined but, Liliane was special for this little boy. In a world where everyone swarmed on him, excited to approach him and engage with him. Liliane was different because, he found her.

Liliane was different because Garen found her. In a world where everything passes, Liliane was always there to accompany him. People bathed him with adoration when he was basking in light but, Liliane was the only one who truly showed him love during his darkest times. Liliane is the only one in the world who was sincere to him.

He realized how much Liliane meant to his whole life. Since first grade, Liliane have always been with him, accompanying him with his little after-school adventures. Liliane is the most wonderful existence he ever knew and being exposed to such a person would make a childish boy be humble. At one point, before fifth grade ends, Garen asked Liliane a certain question.

"Will you always be with me, Lili?" Garen asks, he showed such a cool face but he was afraid to feel his fast and loudly beating heart beat.

Garen stared ahead, flustered within and afraid to destroy his cool the moment he lands his gaze towards the girl. He didn't know what kind of face she was expressing at that moment but, he knew her soft loving voice that trembles in the wind, it was as flustered as his.

"I will..." Liliane says and Garen couldn't help but, be excited for more.

"If I am late, will you wait for me?"

"What about if I'm suspended, will you leave with me?"

"Will you always take my side?"

"Really?"

"Promise?"

Garen pesterly asks but, Liliane would always answered with a delightful and soft hum as she nods. Garen was so happy and he chuckled with his joyful heart.

"Me too! I will do the same!" Garen faced Liliane and smiled so wide and purely bright as he was.

Garen love how Liliane's words was even more reassuring than his own mother's words. Liliane kept her promises, she never failed to hold on to it.

One time, Garen went against a certain teacher's way and was suspended. Liliane never hesitated to pack his bag and her own and was actually the one who carried both of it. Garen knew of Liliane's strength at that moment and was amused by it but, he eventually took his own bag and the two walked out from the school.

Another time that Garen was late for meet-up they promised and Liliane waited an hour for him. He felt really bad when he was arriving at the meeting spot and saw Liliane's saddened face but, it then brightens up the moment that his image was reflected on her eyes. She did scold him but, the moment he saw her smile and she greets him with it, he realized how much he actually love her.

There are many more moments that Garen love because of Liliane. Liliane was the only one who could make Garen feel such utter joy, such excitement, such... Unique.

It might seem unrealistic of how a child could fall this hard but, the purest feeling they felt, the purest joy, the purest moment of their time when they felt their heart would beat for another...

Selflessess, patience, care, joy, silliness, the shared moments, the bond, the simplicity of these all were enough even for a naive child to realize that was love.

There was no need to see things through a beatifully-stained glass screen. The eyes who saw love could only see it beautifully. The purest love is certainly found in a child and if it grows within, it could be the most beautiful thing in the world.

At that time, Garen only knew that he loves Liliane. He never thought of how things would play out. He never had any ideas of lovers and such. Garen simply desire and enjoyed being with her. Garen loved what they had and he felt peace with it.

The poor boy never thought of separations, he thought that they could stay like that forever. He foolishly relied on Liliane's promise and before he knew it, that promise became a desire.

The ground they lied upon as a child was simply lush of greens, as years went on, it slowly became a flower field. Garen learned to always bring a blanket that they would cover the ground with. Only their spot remains, by time, it was marked to be their own. The place they always lied down, there was no flower, no weed nor green, simply dirt. It showed the frequent event of them spending their time together there.

As Liliane would stare above the sky and watch as the clouds would form with shapes that she stared with intrigue, Garen watched her eyes, her lashes that would beautifully flutter as she blinked, her blue eyes that becames even more clear, the longer he gazed upon them. The flowers that surrounds them only shifts Garen's focus to the girl even more, he let that image burn on his mind. It was his very comfort and the life that he breathes upon.

Garen's mistake was that he thought that such moments would last forever. He also wasn't wrong because, Liliane always proved her own words with sincerity and actions.

But, not once in a billion years that he thought, Liliane would want to break their bond. He did thought that way before, after all that he have done towards her. He was so ready for it but, after all this time, he found that Liliane always had reasons for her every resolve and that it always wish Garen the best.

That, for a fact, Liliane continued to prove her love for him and as long as Liliane does love him, he is never going to be willing to let her go.

"Let's stop..." Liliane uttered those words but, Garen wishes not to believe on it.
