Chapter 2

911:"Why-" Before she could finish her sentence i passed out but not before seeing a handful of people that are running towards me that look like paramedics!

I don't know how long I have been asleep but as I slowly come to, i start to hear some voices while trying to open my eyes and when I finally do there is a piercing white light above me!

The first thing that came to mind was, 'god i hope i didn't get isekai-ed!' Before i could find out what is happening i feel something placed on my face and I fall asleep again.

Don't get Shane wrong, any self respecting otaku would dream of being isekai but for shane, not right now. After all his family needs him and if he died, who knows what would happen to the family. 

Best case scenario is that their depressed for a while and then they go about living their lives mourning him once in a while.

Worst case scenario is that they take it to hard and then there current problems get much worse and then it's a downward spiral from then on!

Anyway, after an unknown amount of time later shane starts to wakes up again but this time it felt trying to wake yourself up when you only got a handful of hours of sleep. 

Although a struggle it was not hard, so when he finally opened them all the way what he saw was…

A modern hospital room, after looking around just to make sure he spotted his brother sleeping on the couch. Looking at the clock on the wall it was 2 in the morning but he isn't sure what day it is.

After all that he sighed in relief since his brother is here, it means that he's not is some parallel universe. Looking back at his brother, james who just like shane and their mom has the same brown hair and although you can't see them now his eyes are also brown. 

When laying down you could still tell his height of 5'10,  and even though he is not as toned as shane he is not far behind. But he's just as good looking as shane with his own charm.

But personality wise they are almost the exact opposite. 

Shane is calm, quiet, and cautions always thinking ahead and the possible consequences of his actions and how to minimize them.

While james is energetic, loud, and does what he wants no matter the consequences. 

There has been more then a few time when i had to bail him out of stuff, nothing major but stupid stuff. But for the important stuff he can be trusted and get what needs to be done, done!

Done thinking about that I try to sit up but a piercing pain came from my abdomen and I give a low grunt while clenching my teeth. Waiting till the pain subsides a little i get the blankets off me and look under my hospital robe and see a 6in scar where i've been shot!

After seeing it I cover myself with the blankets again and take a deep breath while thinking, 'The doctors properly had a hard time finding the bullet in my body!' Thinking about that I panic a bit, because what if i'm paralysed or something!

I start nodding and shaking my head while simultaneously moving my hands and fingers in different motions. Seeing that everything is working fine i then start to wiggle my toes and bend my knees and again everything is good!

Done doing all that I exhale in relief and relax while closing my eyes wanting to go back to sleep so I can deal with everything tomorrow.   

But it looks like fate has a different idea for me!

DING: Hello user, you have been chosen out of the 7.8 billion humans on earth to choose 5 wishes to help the human race/yourself from facing extinction during the upcoming apocalypse. Please be mindful that the system will deny any wish if i find it unreasonable!

Ding: Time remaining to chose your wishes before the apocalypse; 30D, 22h, 55M, 45S

'Well shit' was the first thing that came to mind! 

Staring wide eyed at the blue tinted interface an arm's length in front of me I was stunned speechless! So i don't die and get isekai-ed but i live and a system pops up in my head saying i get 5 wishes for the upcoming apocalypse!

I mean most systems help the mc rule the world but this one is giving me 5 wishes for the upcoming apocalypse. 

The APOCALYPSE!

Sighing in defeat, I have to start looking at this situation on the bright side, i get 5 wishes and the time the apocalypse starts. I look to the small dresser to my left which had my phone on there so I grab it and look at the date, December 1, 2019! 

So it's real and I was unconscious for 5 days! Then looking back at the remaining time the system gave me and start thinking.

'Its December 1st, and the system is giving me 30 days to get ready so the apocalypse is starting on the new year.'

The only reason i was taking this seriously and did not think I was going crazy was because of the current date the system displayed.

It said the same date my phone had, and I didn't know the date before I looked at my phone! You can't hallucinate something you don't know!

And besides, I can just make a wish and if it comes true then the apocalypse is also true!

So now i have to make a wish that will make preparing for the apocalypse easier and still would be helpful during it! 

Taking a second to think about it i come up with two different choices, so i will just pick the first one that came to mind!

Just as I opened my mouth to make the wish I remembered i never found out what kind of apocalypse it's going to be! It said that the human race is facing a threat that might wipe us out, so it can be a whole bunch of things! 

Like a Zombie outbreak, Alien invasion, some skynet shit, an asteriod hitting earth, Nuclear holocaust, pandemic, etc…

Each scenario has different ways to prepare and survive and just 3-4 of those scenarios I just said can be started by humans themselves!

Not to mention the ones i can't even think about and or can't even hope to survive in.

Taking a few deep breaths to calm down I attempt to communicate with the system. 

"Hello, could you tell me what kind of threat the humans are facing so i can pick the correct wishes?" Talking out loud in a whisper so i don't wake my brother and some passing nurse doesnt think im going crazy! 

DING: "Question can be answered…" When i heard the ding I was overjoyed, then hearing it talk in that mechanical voice and saying it can i let go of the breath I was unknowingly holding in!

DING: First a worldwide electromagnetic pulse destroying any and all electronics, followed by a zombie outbreak. Searching through your memories and finding your knowledge about zombies not matching the ones coming in the future." 

Pale faced saying, "Well fuck" out loud in a low tone then asking again, "What kind of zombies will they be?" hoping that they will still be slow and dumb making every thing much easier.

DING: "....Permitted, the zombies you know are slow, dumb and rotting not lasting more then a year before they die again. The ones coming in the future can do just as much humans can do their fast, strong, and can live just as long as humans. But they lose their human intelligence/wisdom and operate solely on their instincts." 

When i heard the system say that in its cold mechanical voice my heart literally skipped a beat, you could look at the heart monitor on the side of the bed and check!

By now my face is as pale as a ghosts and staring at the ceiling wide eyed in despair on the edge of crying myself to death! 

I mean seriously, it's already a miracle that i haven't killed myself, first there is going to be an EMP!

I have played call of duty before so I know what an EMP is and I searched for them online before and a lot of studies say that upto 90% of the united states could be killed!

I live in the United States!

Starvation, rioting, disease, dehydration, murder, suicide are the way people are going to die just off the top of my head! And don't even get me started on the fucking zombies!

Is there even hope?
