The airplane came to a stop on the Runway. After her 8 hr. flight from California, she finally arrived in the Big Apple. Well JFK, close enough. Her legs were tired, as her plane was very cramped.
She disembarked with her luggage, 3 bags. They were all covered in travel stickers. She stood in front of the gate waiting for her new roommate and lifelong best friend to show up, Sage.
In the past 9 months Blaire had already flown to France, for the 3rd time, Aruba, Mongolia, and Brazil. Now she had finally found her home in NYC. Her phone buzzed, she looked down and saw Mathew's name pop up. She sighed, she could never escape him.
Mathew was her on and off boyfriend. They had met on her trip to Brazil, at a beachfront bar. She saw him across the bar and thought, in her drunkenness, he seems like a good distraction.
He was very charming, his light brown hair buzzed short. He had a strong jawline and a radiant white smile. He had light brown eyes, and tan skin. She found out later that night that he smelled like the sea before a storm. Dangerous, yet calming.
Right before her trip, she had gotten fired from her job as a detective at the LA police force. That was her dream job evrer since she was four. So it
was appropriate that she was devastated.
The night she had walked over to him, he realized just how beautiful she was. From across the bar he couldn't see much of her but now that she came closer, it was evident that she was the most beautiful woman he had ever saw.
Her dark brown hair was wavy and long, it had evidently been in the water today. Her gold eyes captured the night sky and made her face look radiant. Her tall and slender figure looked elegant as she crossed the room. He liked her very much, and he could tell he wasn't the only one, many men snuck peeks at her, but she didn't seem to notice. Which made her even more attractive. He wanted her, he wanted to make them jealous.
So the moment she sat down near him, he took advantage. He struck up a conversation with her and learned that she was actually pretty funny. She definitely knew how to hold a crowd. But he had an endgame, bed. Good thing she was already tipsy, he thought to himself.
Blaire shared the same end goal that night. But she liked teasing him too. Of course she had noticed the glances as she walked towards him. But she knew it would make her seem more attractive if she feigned ignorance.
After an hour of flirting and talking he finally suggested they go to a hotel. As she walked out with him, his arms around her shoulders, she could over hear parts of people's conversations.
"I'm so jealous of him, how did he snag her?" and "Her eyes are breathtaking" and finally "He accentuates her well, and makes her look sexy".
Even though Blaire had obviously heard all of this she didn't let it faze her. She had heard these compliments wherever she went since she was 7. Except the sexy thing, no one thought Blaire was sexy when she was younger. She was always considered beautiful, and she knew it, but she didn't let it go to her head.
The next day she had woken up to a slight headache, and a room that wasn't her own, and don't forget the naked man next to her. I dont remember drinking that much last night, she thought to herself. But as the pain grew in her head she realized that it was not the case.
She knew what happened before he woke up. She hated her self for it. Blaire was always an impulsive person since she was little, and this was not an exception. She blamed the wine.
That was how they met. Isn't it a great way to start a love story. Three months it's been since she woke up in that hotel, and they have been going steady ever since. The one thing she didn't like about him is the fact that he is very controlling. She had practically moved across the country to get away from Mathew. Her work was a great excuse. He had insisted in coming but she had somehow convinced him, by the miracle of God to stay in California.
The only reason she hasn't broken up with him is because she hates confrontation. Most of the time she is a very open and confident person but when it came to confronting someone, she was terrified.
She looked up from her phone, to see Sage standing 5 feet away looking for her. She looked at the gate, one more time before she left and read the words, "Welcome to NY, home of the big apple" on the screen. This was going to be her new life and she was ready.
