New life with a sci-fi system

Waking up 30 seconds before the plane your in crashes into the ground is nothing short of terrifying. Especially if you have no idea how you got on the plane in the first place or why you are in the pilot seat.

Firstly I would like to state that this wasn't my fault... well not entirely my fault but it wasn't mostly my fault. I was being shot at by some jumped up thugs that thought that they could make a name for themselves by attacking me on my way to my company. I have no idea what they were thinking they saw me fighting with the big boys why did they think they could take me.

As I said before I was going to company to check up on my wife and what was going on since I have been absent for a while. I didn't have my ship at the moment as it with Tali'Zorah in a recently and hastily made hangar area as it's pretty big considering that I could fit all Cuckoos inside even if it was a tight squeeze. This meant that I needed an alternative form of transportation and as the face of the company I couldn't just pull up in a clunker. So I had no choice and had to buy a Rimac Never because it was important for others to see me in this way not that I wanted this.

As this was it's maiden voyage I decided that I wanted drive it myself to the company. While I was definitely obeying the traffic rules minding my own business I felt a disturbance in the Force. I knew I couldn't avoid what was coming as I was T-boned by a garbage truck seconds after I had sensed it. I wasn't too hurt as I immediately shielded myself from the damage. I wasn't alone as what's the point of a fast car without a gorgeous woman next to me. Harley somehow was pretty much unscathed somehow just dizzy from what I could tell maybe a mild concussion but it was hard to tell as she is constantly a hot mess.

Bullets immediately came flying our way so I grabbed Harley and pulled her out of her seat and got us to flimsy cover behind the car. The buildings were too far away to safely get Harley to better cover and I wasn't about to run after those fuckers wrecked my car. I didn't have my plasma rifle because Thoris wanted to study it honestly that was fucking stupid on my part. I could just snap some necks with good old fashioned telekinesis but it would look bad in the media.

I knew that if I held out for at least ten minutes that M'Shen and her apprentices would be here but that would make me look weak. Especially considering that they were just low rent thugs with guns. Ironically killing thugs with guns is less terrifying to the public than using super powers. So with those thoughts in mind I look through the system until I found what I was looking for.

[Lawgiver MK 3 (Judge Dredd)]

When I summoned the gun directly from the system instead of my inventory it appeared a little out of reach. Cursing the system under my breath I was about to pull it towards me when shot was fired just missing my hand it wasn't a bullet but a but a bolt from a crossbow. This was quickly followed by a grappling hook that latched on to the gun before pulling it away and into the hands of Nightwing.

"Drop it NOW!!"

Nightwing: No, if I... Argh!

The gun exploded in his hand launching him backwards as he screamed in pain looking at his stump of where his hand once was! His face and part of his chest were also affected by the blast honestly he was lucky to even survive the gun's destination as most people would have likely died from it.

Huntress: Nightwing!

Honestly this wasn't the best way to introduce myself to other heroes. Was it the best idea to summon a exploding gun during a shoot out? No, it wasn't but I wanted to use it... huh...

'System would I have been able to use the Lawgiver myself?'

[Only a registered judges may wield their assigned Lawgiver]

'Was the Lawgiver registered to me?'

[Only a registered judge may wield their assigned Lawgiver]

I'm going to take that as a no then, well better him than me. As for the thugs I didn't have to worry about them as the Titans were quickly subduing them so like I said not my fault.
