To say that this was awkward would be an understatement the girls on my side seemed ready to rip apart the X-men or die trying. While the X-men seemed to be on high alert not sure what was going to happen within the next few seconds. Seeing an opportunity to improve my standing I decided to play mediator before anyone else could.
"Everyone calm down I doubt that the X-men are here for a fight with teen victims"
Kitty Pryde: Exactly! We didn't even know that any of you were here! We just worried when the professor felt Jean's power spike!
What she wasn't wrong but was definitely the worst thing to say at the moment. It was essentially saying; hey we're a well-known group of mutant heroes that instead of looking to help you in your moment of need decided to help our friend who probably doesn't need it. What was worse was that she said that they weren't even on their radar whatsoever.
Hank Mccoy: That doesn't mean that we won't offer a helping hand to those in need.
Charles: That is absolutely correct which is why I would like to extend an invitation for you all to join...

I'll admit I didn't suspect that Charles would arrive here in person but considering that he was searching for Jean it makes sense. Fortunately Charles being Charles couldn't help himself in the face of a large number of potential cult members he used his powers to seem good and his words to seem correct. My statement had once again sent a ripple through the X-men as well as those on my side excluding Emma's daughters who were in diamond form and M'Shen because of her training as even Thoris and Jean were affected. Thoris because she didn't expect it and Jean because he was an old hand at diving into her mind.
Charles: I was only trying to ease tensions as we didn't come to cause conflict
X-23: Then stay the fuck out of our heads!

Scott: Besides that where will you keep them? I sincerely doubt that you already have a place in mind that will openly accept mutant children
Charles: What Scott means to say is that these children need a safe place to grow and learn and our institution...

"I am taking them to see their mother who just so happens to run a school for meta human children. I think that would better than letting someone else decide the fate of her children"
Logan: What about the girl with the claws that smells almost exactly like me?

Charles: And what if your powers go out of control? Someone could get hurt!
Jean: isn't that why you establish the school to "help" us to control our powers because you certainly did not try to teach me to control the full reach of my abilities
Charles: If you would let me explain...
Jean: You had plenty of years to explain but instead you chose not to! I am done waiting for your explanations and for you to decide what I am allowed to do or to know! I've made my decision Charles I'm going with someone who has taught me how to begin controlling my abilities. I am done with the X-men and I am done with your deceptions.
