After experiencing that moment of crisis. We were still 8.
They announced that the third trial would start tomorrow at 3 PM, and we could rest on the remaining hammocks. The failed candidates would follow the Hunters who would escort them out.
Those who were knocked out slowly began to wake up to realize they had failed. Some were disappointed, while others were relieved to have escaped death. They left, but the desire to become a Hunter had vanished for some. For others, they eagerly awaited the next year.
Imori: "I'll wait for you in the city of Zaban. Even if I failed, remember, if both of you lose, we have to wait 1 year to try again."
Amori and Umori: "Don't worry, we'll succeed."
Umori: "Since we don't have a penny, you'll sleep under the stars or find an uninhabited house, change the lock, and declare it's yours. Worst-case scenario, you know, it works like that in France."
Imori glanced back at his brother, knowing his body wouldn't withstand bullets. "Under the stars or an empty house. I'll leave you, see you in 2 days."
Examiners' POV:
Pecouz: "How could you start a fight during an exam? And worst of all, you lost."
Togari: "I didn't lose; he just got lucky. We were almost evenly matched."
Fiona: "If you seriously think you were evenly matched against that lunatic, you must have been severely injured. He was just playing; he lowered himself to your level for amusement. When we arrived, he was just excited to see more prey and nothing else. Not once did he..."
Togari: "Shut up, I could have handled it without you."
he regretted it was words that had just come out
Fiona: "Looks like you were more seriously injured than I thought. So, I'll forgive you."
While Fiona spoke sweetly, her aura, beginning to expand, said the opposite. Togari swallowed hard; he was already in bad shape, and his mistake had barely been forgiven, or rather delayed.
The rest of the examiners entered the room; they were all present now.
Fiona: "Did you receive directives from the president for the final test?"
Satotsu: "He just relayed them to me."
The examiners stared at him attentively, awaiting details of the final test.
Satotsu: "The final test will be duels. Participants will fight each other. The loser will be eliminated, and the winner will obtain their Hunter license. He's already given us a list for the duels."
Pecouz: "He could have let us make the list," he complained.
Fiona: "Let's not question the president's orders."
Satotsu: "That's settled. Fiona, it's up to you to manage the exam. The rest of us examiners will be spectators."
The day finally arrived. Some candidates were already awake at 7 AM. Umori and I went hunting and stayed in the woods, enjoying the game. Then, at noon, we relaxed by the lake. At 2:30 PM, we were ready for our 3 PM fight.
Amori: "If you feel the same way as in the Hisoka and Togari duel, give up."
Umori: "Same goes for you. You said it yourself; we came to get stronger, not to feed the fish."
They said this with a big smile, so we headed to the location for our final tests.
Fiona's POV:
For your final trial before becoming Hunters for some, it will be a duel. The winner will become a Hunter naturally, while the loser may try again next year. The fights are not to the death. If your opponent gives up, they lose. If they lose consciousness, they lose. If we judge the fight to be already decided, except for decisions by other examiners, you lose.
Without further ado, here's the list of duels.
