Jody frowned.

Apparently, the True Pharaoh of Fate was indeed pissed.

Nothing that happened here was the way described in the books. Jody was beginning to doubt the credibility of this world's authors. If they didn't have the ability to assess the true secrets of the void, why did they sell false dreams? He also didn't enjoy being threatened very much, but what could he do about it?

Fight with the god of fate?

Fighting against the god of fate's actual representative at present was definitely a dumb idea. Only the Twilight Imp could do such a thing, which also seemed unlikely. Putting aside the fact that Jody was speaking with some alien life form, this wasn't even the physical world! How could he even fight at all? His knowledge of the soul was far too shallow.

'Why does it seem like the guardians of fate disagree with my decision to choose the grimoire? Could it be that the wolf boy was trying to trick me?' Jody pondered, but he somehow didn't feel that to be the case.

It was almost as if it was the guardian of fate instead who was afraid of him choosing the grimoire.

It was as if the destiny he would have with the grimoire was terrifying compared to the destiny he would have if he did not possess it. At any rate, Jody had already been made aware of the inherent importance of this decision by that mysterious wolf boy in his head.

With that being the case, Jody relaxed his face and nodded his head. However, the struggle that he had anticipated all this time was destined not to occur.

Immediately after giving his consent, the symbol on the ground radiated a violet light, and a couple of wolf howls sounded. The howls seem to acknowledge Jody as the brightest object in their sky. Jody felt a weak link established in his mind. Baffled, he had no time to react before he felt his consciousness fading uncontrollably. The True Pharaoh of Fate had indeed issued a repulsion order, and the Guardians of Fate had already vanished.

Luckily, before his spiritual body could fade away, a sapphire crystal gem floated out from his glabella, releasing a blinding light. After the light faded, Jody found himself facing the same artifacts once again. However, this time, there was only a treasured bracelet and two artifacts with the scarlet-gold light behind it. The sword and grimoire were both gone. Jody stared in shock at the blue Destiny star that floated silently before him.

Before this moment, he had gotten so accustomed to it floating quietly behind him that he had largely forgotten about its existence. It was like a shadow; he knew it was there, but he never paid it any mind.

'This must be the special function of the fate gem after rebirth made it a destiny star!' Jody thought to himself before turning his attention back to the front as his eyes lit up. 'So then, the next one should be my own choice.'

Jody now had a faint image deep in his mind. With his Mind's Eye ability active, he could feel that there was somehow a new mental space behind the center of his brows or at his glabella. Inside this space, the twilight proxy floats high in the void on its own throne. In a different corner of the space was a small ancient tome, floating serenely in the void. When his perception touched the book, new information appeared in his mind.

[Cosmos Revolving Grimoire]

Chaos force baptism in progress: 13%.

Serenity force baptism in progress: 5%.

Calamity Force baptism in progress: 7%.

Synchronization with Host in progress: 1%.

Guardian 1: Cosmos Devouring Sky Wolf, Compatibility rating: 57%.

Guardian 2: Mighty God Jackal, Compatibility rating: 33%.

Jody exclaimed in surprise, "Are these new guardians my combat souls?!"

The ancient tome was indeed a godly grimoire!

On top of that, it was a symbiotic class artifact of fate! Once the Synchronization reached 50%, Jody would officially enter the Freshmen Host rank, and this would become his refined God-level Source Artifact!

The Freshmen Host rank Origin Scholar was the rank of a beginner-level Sage, the absolute bottom on the totem pole! In other words, the current young Sage's strength wasn't even at the bottom! Could he even be considered a Sage? If he relied purely on his mana, any old expert off the street could still slap him to death! Of course, Jody could rely on more than just his mana.

'After I successfully form this link, my real body will be baptized in the artifact's pure chaos force,' thought Jody. 'Holy shit! My combat souls actually each practice a cosmic power? Aren't the heavens themselves helping me?'

Jody could no longer calm down.

The information provided by the grimoire allowed Jody to know what Force Baptism his body was experiencing. However, he never expected to have such a windfall! He was studying the Titanic Rage, an immortal law compendium that centered around cosmic power! The laws of Pure Neon Serenity and Pure Dawn Calamity, also known as the yin and yang principles, were only half of the cosmic forces.

However, they were the half that was the hardest for a man to obtain deep insight into in a short amount of time. For Jody, this was no longer the case! At this point, once he had the force genesis of this new guardian duo, he could be considered no different from a youth of the Titan Clan. The only difference was that he would be a little stronger than them at every step since he had more meridian channels.

The Titanic Rage Law was practically made just for him. He would have to sincerely kowtow to this irresponsible master of his, the eternal voice of boom and doom, T'Zhanè.

"Destiny, huh… the luck of heroes is indeed the greatest. The Heavenly Slaughter race did not have such a deep connection with the laws of fate despite their powerful souls. Pangaea is a land of heroes, after all. The True Pharaoh of Fate must definitely be one of the strongest heroes ever to exist. He's not someone I want as an enemy."

Once the link between himself and his first artifact of fate was established, Jody realized that the different lights around the objects also represented their level. Originally, there were eight grey artifacts, two white artifacts, and three scarlet-golden artifacts. The eight grey artifacts and two white artifacts were split evenly; half were made of rukh and compatible with Voodoo Force, while the other half were made of mana and compatible with Magic Force. Jody's holy sword was initially made of mana, for example. However, now that the twilight proxy had assimilated it, it likely had changed on a fundamental level.

The light surrounding the grey artifacts was dim. These were the regular-tier fate artifacts. From this, Jody inferred that the grey artifacts were the easiest to fuse with but likely offered the weakest support. After all, the fates told Jody that his soul's potential was too high to merge with an artifact of that level. They couldn't handle his destiny. As for the white artifacts, these were at the holy level. They seemed a step above the grey objects, and these should be the artifacts that the books referred to as the genius class artifacts. Jody questioned what the benefits of fusing artifacts at the lower level would be. Could experts with the grey-level artifacts even be taken seriously? As the possessor of destiny's star, Jody didn't fear someone who was not favored by destiny!

As for Jody himself, he didn't even put a holy artifact in his eyes. If it weren't for the fact that he knew he could choose to fuse them into the divine tier artifacts to create the god tier, he simply wouldn't have bothered getting to know them at all.

The scarlet-gold divine artifacts were the true upperclassmen of the group. There was no record of the number of Fate Artifacts exceeding ten, the number of completion. However, there were three additional artifacts that each possessed the true chaos energy. The power of twilight. Unlike the others, which changed shape and form based on the soul flame of those who manifest here, these three artifacts only changed structure based on the world source of the consciousness that manifests.

Any hero that had the potential could receive the same scarlet-gold artifacts. It was the same for those of other races. Each would see something different. However, the fates had referred to Jody as a Nova God's Soul. Perhaps he would not be considered human by the laws of fate? Then, would anyone have artifacts that could surpass his own? Were there others like him as well?

Of the three fates, his first choice for a Source Artifact was the Cosmos Revolving Grimoire. Every source artifact would have special support abilities, but these abilities would only unseal as one gained sufficient soul strength. The only function of the grimoire that Jody was currently aware of was called summoner. The summoner function had eight seals.

The first seal allowed the user to devour and transform the soul essence-energies from the true souls of anything with a different source than the host. The true soul would be absorbed inside the space within the grimoire, utilizing the powers of fate and twilight to force a reincarnation. It would then become a Contracted Beast of the user, or in other words, Jody Trill's Contract Beast.

Another method was for a creature to submit to the grimoire's contract willingly and become a Guardian Beast. Contracted Beasts are enslaved to the host soul, and this lasts up until their deaths or the death of the host. If the host dies, the beast is free. Meanwhile, Guardian Beasts possess free will but live and die with their host.

Once a Contract Beast is killed, it will become a hollow soul and is transported to a place called the realm of Samsara Fate by the grimoire. Regular Guardian Beasts are rarely killed, as the grimoire will forcibly withdraw them if they are approaching death. However, they could still potentially die. The only beasts that will never die are the Guardian Souls, as they are originally combat souls that are a part of the main soul. Only by obliterating the main soul can they be destroyed. However, Jody had no time to finish his thoughts. At this moment, the melodic voices of the fates sounded directly in his mind again.

[Chosen one.]

[Legacy of the Nova.]

[Possessor of destiny's star.]

[The remaining holy artifact is yours.]

[Please choose a divine artifact.]

[The destiny to the left is the path of peace.]

[A noble heart and intense pride.]

[This path has a real affinity with you and is willing to guide.]

[The destiny to the right is the path of war.]

[To journey is to fight, despite reason or rank.]

[This path welcomes your potential but disdains your heart.]

[Choose wisely.]

"How mysterious…" This time, the fates did not appear, nor did they seem particularly pleasant.

Apparently, the Destiny star was a power they could not obstruct. Jody cast a curious glance at his destiny star. After updating his current understanding of himself, Jody returned to the two scarlet-gold artifacts. The voice, this time, almost made it sound like the objects were competing for his attention. This time, he indeed had to choose wisely. After sinking his perception briefly in each, he understood a bit more about these artifacts.

On the left was an amulet called the Mighty Ankh. It was a fusion-type artifact that could augment physical energy and astral strength tremendously. The nemes headdress on the right was called the Pharaoh's Law and was also a fusion-type artifact. However, instead of physical energy, it augmented mental energy and soul force. It also did so tremendously. Of course, this was a mere overview, and he would have to establish a link with the artifact to know the full extent of these functions.

"To journey is to fight, despite reason or rank…this path welcomes my potential but disdains my heart!"

In reality, Jody had already decided based on the compatible feeling he got from this Pharaoh's Law. He felt it urging him to become something greater, something more. A true monarch, a god. In his old world, pharaohs were the rulers of ancient Egypt. In old religion, there were even pharaohs who were worshipped as gods from the beginning of time.

Could this be that so-called beginning of time? Could the legion of pharaohs truly be the pharaoh gods who governed the universal laws? After all, Anubis was the True Pharaoh of Death and the Underworld. Could there also be a Thoth, Ra, and other gods of old?

The creators of the universe itself!

Being here, in the Destiny Zone, made Jody wonder if he could become a similar deity in this world. After all, didn't the fates claim that he possesses a True Pharaoh's soul? What the young boy failed to realize was that a True Pharaoh deity already existed on this planet. However, that would be a matter of the future.

Once this thought of becoming a Pharaoh occurred to him, it flourished unceasingly. The words that the fates had sung to him only further solidified his decision. The fate gem, or rather the destiny star, floated forward as if reading his thoughts, disappearing into the Pharaoh's Law. The bracelet behind Jody transformed into a black light and shot into his glabella without warning.

The twilight god seal emitted scarlet-golden light once more, which shot into the divine artifact, making the latter release a blazing light as countless runes manifested on it. Space then melted away again, right in front of Jody's face. As the platform melted away, his attention was once again drawn to the crystal gate in the center. It almost felt like he could still feel the gate's presence even after it vanished. Suddenly, the twilight imp's mysterious language sounded in Jody's mind once more.

"Assimilating holy artifact, rewarding 200 twilight stars. Congratulations on obtaining enough twilight stars to bind the twilight god seal! Unfortunately, a suitable medium must be obtained. 590 twilight stars remaining. Capture the sacred artifact of fate and upgrade the twilight store for 555 twilight stars?"

"WHAT?!"

Sorry! I missed one. Shout out to LongRyu for catching it and letting me know.
