Cursed *dark content warning*

Osiris looked taken aback by her sudden outburst but quickly composed himself. "Enora, that's not what I'm saying. I want to help you deal with whatever is causing these changes in your behavior. We can work together to find a solution."

Enora shook her head, feeling a sense of frustration bubbling within her. She didn't want his help. She didn't want to be vulnerable in front of him.

"I don't need your help. I can handle my own problems," she hissed, her voice trembling with rage.

Osiris took a step closer, his expression hardening. "Enora, this anger is not like you. You're not thinking clearly."

But Enora couldn't see past her anger and frustration, unable to control the sudden rush of emotions that seemed to have taken over her mind. All she could see was Osiris, who swore to protect her but had long failed!

Was this the so-called protection?

What was it worth?

Osiris tried to keep his calm as he observed Enora's imbalanced state. He knew this was not his wife, but some foreign thoughts inside her were talking. He had seen this kind of behavior before and knew that some curse was upon her. This curse would constantly possess her with negative thoughts.

"Enora, please calm down," he said, trying to reach out to her.

But Enora wasn't listening. Her mind was clouded with rage and jealousy; all she wanted to do was lash out at her husband.

Enora felt as if something inside of her had snapped. All of a sudden, she couldn't control the anger that was boiling up inside of her. With a scream of fury, she lunged at Osiris, her fingernails clawing at his face.

Osiris easily dodged her attack, but she was quick to try again. He could see the rage burning in her eyes, sending a chill down his spine. This was not the Enora he knew and loved. Something had changed. Something was not right.

Enora continued to attack Osiris, clawing and biting at him like a wild animal. He tried to defend himself but didn't want to hurt her. He knew that something was going on, that she was not in her right mind.

A soft bell chime was heard as the entire room was engulfed in shadows.

Suddenly, Enora froze. Her eyes went blank, and she fell backward, landing on the ground with a thud. Osiris rushed to her side, cradling her head in his lap.

"Enora? Enora, can you hear me?" he asked, his voice full of concern.

Enora blinked, confused as if she had just awakened from a dream. She looked up at Osiris with tears streaming down her face.

"I...I don't know what happened," she whispered—but then rage colored her expression again.

"You think you can help me?" she spat. "You couldn't even protect me from that vile creature that violates me every night! Do you know why I haven't kissed you? Do you know what I've been kissing lately?"

Osiris felt a cold shiver run down his spine as he heard those words. 'So it was true...'

Unbridled rage infiltrated his state of mind, but he desperately suppressed it. No! He had prepared for this. She couldn't be blamed, and he couldn't be rash.

After all, this is a war.

Lylian had witnessed Enora disappearing with a shadowy figure more than once. This was a voodoo country, and the House Lord had no lack of enemies. Osiris had suspected that something like this might have been happening, but he never wanted to believe it. No, maybe he was too proud to confront it. He would prefer to think the woman had betrayed him or had never been true. Now that it was out in the open, he knew he had to act fast to protect his wife.

"Enora, listen to me," he said, taking her hands in his. "I need you to be strong and trust me. I will find out who did this to you and ensure they pay for their sins."

Enora looked at him with tear-filled eyes, and for a moment, Osiris saw his old wife back—the one who had loved him and trusted him above all else.

"It...its too late, Trill...its too late..." Enora collapsed into her husband's arms as tears flooded her face ceaselessly. "I'm so sorry..."

"No...the one who should apologize is I," Osiris said as he gently caressed her back. "They may believe to have destroyed our harmony, but will soon discover to have shot themselves through the foot with an arrow. It's time you knew of certain things. There's something I'll need you to do later. Listen closely..."

Enora's gaze grew baffled and complicated as she heard her man speak. But as he informed her of the political and personal secrets involved in this matter, her heart turned extremely cold.

So much happened...due to a succession war?

So many lives were being destroyed...just to satisfy some freaks vanity?

What was she? A pawn? An ant among anteaters? Enora called the last several years of her life into question, but when she heard her husband's following explanation, many thing started to make sense.

She knew her role.

And she would play it well.

All for her son to come out of this alive. After all, the boy was innocent.

Several hours later, Osiris stood on a hill overlooking Saint Anubis City from two kilometers away.

The sun began to set, casting a golden hue over the bustling city. The cool evening breeze rustled through the trees, and Lord Trillwolf took a deep breath, trying to calm himself before what he had to do next. His mind was a whirlwind of emotions. He felt anger, sadness, and a deep sense of betrayal. However, he couldn't fault Enora. Whoever had done this to her would pay for their sins in blood.

But first, he needed to find out who they were.

He knew that his brother, Seth, was behind this. Seth had always been jealous of Osiris and vying for their father's position in the Central Ward. Despite long abandoning his status in the Central Ward, Osiris was once his biggest obstacle. However, the man himself knew that the real biggest obstacle had only been born a year ago.

Everything had already changed. He would need to get a step ahead of the next domino.

Seth had long since changed his name once he achieved the Legend rank Sage realm. He is known as the most dangerous villain in the West Ward of Pangaea.

Basalt Congo.

Basalt has an army of loyal followers and wields immense power comparable to the pharaoh, even though he has yet to become a Wizard. If Osiris were to confront him directly, it would mean certain death. Unless Osiris could achieve a breakthrough to the Legend rank, he could do nothing against White Demon.

But Osiris couldn't just sit by and do nothing. He had to find a way to protect his family and his House. He would need the help of Ke Si and his other allies to take down Basalt and his minions. Osiris closed his eyes and focused his mind, reaching out with his shadow magic. He could sense the dark energies emanating from the city and knew that the evil priests of the White Demon Temple were nearby.

Osiris closed his eyes and focused his mind. He had learned to control his shadow magic many years ago and knew its power well. There was a specific difference between magic and voodoo. The medium used would greatly affect the results. With a deep breath, he reached out with his mind and summoned Ke Si, the Head Butler of House Trillwolf and his most trusted ally.

A few moments later, Ke Si appeared beside him in a swirl of shadows. He was dressed in his usual black robes, and his face was expressionless as always.

"Ke Si, I need your help," Osiris said without preamble. "Enora has been cursed, and I need to find out who did it."

Ke nodded, his eyes flickering with the cold light of his shadow essence. "I am fused with your shadow at all times, Master. I will be able to sense any curses that may be affecting you or members of your household. However, neither of us detected Enora's curse before tonight. I'm afraid..."

"Afraid she's no longer a member of my household by the Mortal Truth's standards?" The Lord finished his retainer's sentence in his stead. "The birth of the child made our contract null. Can we not interfere with her status at all due to this?"

"There is another way," Ke stated solemnly. "But we would need the blood of the holder."

Osiris nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. He could still accomplish that if all he needed were the blood of whichever of those two freaks was responsible. All he needed was the right opportunity. Ke Si was the best shadow mage Osiris had ever encountered, and he had complete trust in him.

"Good."

"Do you have a plan, my Lord?" Ke asked, his voice quiet but full of deadly intent.

Osiris nodded, his jaw clenched. "I know where some White Demon cultists are hiding. We move tonight."

Ke Si nodded, a faint smile playing at the corners of his lips. He was a powerful shadow mage and House Trillwolf's top assassin, and tonight, he would show these cultists the true meaning of fear. Osiris and Ke Si moved through the shadows as the sun began to set, their bodies fusing with the darkness. They moved with unnatural speed, their movements fluid and silent.
