10 - This World (Versil Side)

Versil has made progress in his voyage through Johto, finally arriving at New Bark Town and the Elm laboratory. He seems to want to talk to the professor.

Versil hurries to the lab and rings the doorbell, alerting Professor Elm of his presence.

"Who could that be?" said Elm.

The man enters the lab since it has automatic doors.

"Are you Professor Elm?" the mysterious man asks.

"Yes, and who might you be?" Elm replies cautiously.

"Well, I go by the name Versil. I'm in need of some help. I'm kinda stranded in this region without a place to go," Versil explains.

"Ah, I see. Do you have any money with you?" Elm asks curiously.

"Yes, I have some money, but not much," Versil responds.

"Well, I could help you find a place to stay, maybe in New Bark Town. There are a lot of empty houses," Elm suggests.

"Thank you, Professor Elm," Versil says happily.

"So, Versil, what do you plan to do to make a living?" Elm inquires.

"Well, I'm a Champion Level trainer, so I could be an agent for the League under Lance," Versil proposes.

"That's a marvelous idea. I will call Lance to discuss this in the afternoon. You can move to your house near the next town's Pokécenter. We'll talk more tomorrow," Elm informs.

"Yeah, thank you for everything, Elm. I don't know what I would do without you," Versil expresses his gratitude.

In the next hour, Versil rests after his voyage to New Bark Town. He thinks about the war against Dragalisk and the Xenoverse.

"Now that I'm here, I have to make sure Dragalisk isn't a threat anymore. I'm going to establish a new Team Dimension here in Johto. There are so many mysteries in this world that I don't know about and need to study. I hope my son is doing great things in Eldiw," Versil ponders.

Versil thinks about his strange journey in this dimension after the fight against Dragalisk, hoping his son defeated that beast for good. But that's a matter for another day; right now, Versil is very tired and hungry.

"Well, it's useless to think about this now. Let's go eat something. Professor Elm mentioned that he reserved some food in this house for any situations," Versil says to himself.

There is plenty of food in his house to last for a week, but it's mostly canned food, so it's not very healthy. At least there is food to eat!

"Tomorrow, I'll go to the market and buy some fresh food. I hope my money will last for a while," Versil contemplates.

He has 5 million Pokedollars left, which isn't much, but it will last a long time if he doesn't spend it on luxury items. He'll need to use some of it to buy equipment or parts to assemble machinery for his study of the dimensions. However, he doesn't know that there is a scientist in Pallet Town, Reukra, who could help him. But that encounter will come another day.

The next day, Versil wakes up very early to do a workout to relax and stay healthy. After 30 minutes of exercising, he takes a shower and starts to think about his work in this region.

"To make money, I would have to take on some jobs for the League. Training my Pokémon and participating in matches could be profitable for me. But after that, I'll have to work on the machinery to study the dimension I'm in," Versil contemplates.

After thinking deeply for a few minutes, he goes to Elm's Lab to have a talk.

"Ah, Professor Elm, there you are. We need to talk," Versil says.

"Yes, Versil. Is that your real name, by the way?" Elm asks.

"Well, not really, but I use Versil for some reason that I can't explain right now," Versil responds.

"I see. I have to call Lance. Wait for a moment here in the lounge," Elm says.

Elm goes to another room to call Lance.

"Lance here, Professor Elm. What's up?" Lance asks over the phone.

"Lance, I have a man named Versil at my lab. He claims to be a Champion Level trainer and doesn't have a house for himself for some reason. Have you heard of him before?" Elm asks.

"Versil, huh? No, Professor Elm, I don't know anyone with that name. So, what are you asking me for?" Lance responds.

"Well, I was hoping you could offer Versil a job for a while. He wants to help the League," Elm explains.

"I see. Yes, my Gman group has an opening. I can give him instructions in 2-3 days," Lance offers.

"That's a good proposition. I will relay this information to Versil," Elm says.

"If there's nothing else, I have to go now, Elm," Lance says.

"Well, Versil is mysterious, so I was hoping you could observe him during his time with you," Elm requests.

"I can do that. Now I have to go. Goodbye, Professor," Lance says, ending the call.

Elm ponders for a moment, then returns to the room.

"Versil, I have good news for you. Lance has a spot for you in his Gman team. Are you happy?" Elm announces.

"Gman, huh? Yes, I can work for Lance. Having some income would greatly help me, Professor. When do I start working for Lance?" Versil asks.

"In 2-3 days. I'll call you when it's time and give you the coordinates for the Gman helicopter," Elm informs.

"Alright then, see you in 3 days, Prof. Elm. Thank you for everything you've done for me. It will greatly help me going forward," Versil expresses his gratitude.

"See you, Versil. Now I have to focus on my research, so I don't have much time to spend with you," Elm says.

Versil leaves the laboratory as Professor Elm begins researching a mysterious Egg given to him by Professor Oak. But that's a story for another day.

"I have sensed a strange anomaly in my world. What's happening there? I hold a grudge against humans, but it's not the right time for revenge. However, something is amiss. I must talk to Palkia and Dialga to gather more information," Arceus contemplates.

Arceus ponders the strange distortions that are occurring and decides to rest for another day, still thinking about revenge. But that's a matter for another day.
