The First Battle

The sun was shining brighter than ever, like lighting a match in pitch blackness. It was blasting its rough and unmatched rays onto a building that overlooked a town filled with liveliness.

Inside this building, a tiny person was quickly walking through the twists and turns. She had blond hair that lustered in the bright rays of the sun coming from the window. She passed by many people, none of them suspecting of her having just killed a loved and respected comrade.

Forset was walking through the building trying to find a stairwell leading downstairs. When she learned of the mission details, she knew it would be a waste to squander this disguise she had crudely put together. Eventually, someone would get worried and check the interrogation room; they would find the body of the woman she killed, therefore, making the 'disguise' useless.

While trying to think of what to do she found a map pinned on a wall, stuffed inside of a clear display glass. She looked around and learned of the jail cellar that spans the whole town. It just so happened that she was in a good position to go down there; she didn't want to throw away this opportunity. She was sure that Vi and most of the other players would be down there.

The most reasonable thing to do would be to meet up with Vi, she knew she couldn't do much to the NPCs. She was too weak at this point, cooperation and teamwork would allow her to close the gap and have a chance at completing the quest.

As she was pondering what Vi was doing she found the stairs.

__________

Vi was rubbing his forehead with his fingers trying to think of any way he could get the advantage in this fight.

He already thought about just breaking through the walls to get where he needed, but no matter where he went there would be a checkpoint. Then the guards would be able to contact each other, making this whole situation a lot more confusing.

'I have a couple of advantages right now, the biggest one being the element of surprise. I also have around 100 players behind me, they are perfect soldiers as they don't fear death. Hmmm... first let me assess the situation of everyone here.'

Vi went up to everyone, learning their specific classes. After assessing everyone's levels and class he had more statistics to work with.

There were about 60 people who mained in physical DPS. 20 people were trying to do magic, but didn't have much foundation; this made around 20 people practically useless in this scenario. There were around 15 tanks, but with no shield, they weren't in the best shape to block attacks. The final main class he assessed were healers; there were 5 healers among them and only 2 of them could heal without their starting wand.

There were 3 people with skills, two being physical DPS, and one being one of the two healers that didn't need a wand. One of the physical DPS players had a skill that raised their attack with a sword by 100%, it wasn't useful right now. But the other physical DPS player's skill was God-sent. He was trying to be an assassin-type class and stumbled upon a quest that granted him a stealth skill.

This was very helpful for Vi, a stealth skill would allow them to get one kill on a guard before they would be able to contact other guards. This was Vi's main idea, as long as the guards weren't able to contact other guards they would be fine.

The last skill was from a healer, making him very helpful. His skill was basic, he lost 10% less mana when casting spells for ten minutes. This helps more than you could ever imagine though, the longer a healer can last without running out of mana, the more DPS can do damage without having to worry able health.

This would take a large burden off of the DPS team, allowing them to focus on attacking. Healers were more important than most people thought.

Without a healer, a whole team would call apart with one bad injury, especially in a full dive video game where getting injured in the wrong place could cripple you for the time being. It wasn't like a normal MMORPG where a healer would fill someone's health bar; in this game, a healer would heal deep cuts and broken bones that would impact someone's attacking ability.

This made being a healer a lot harder than normal, but also much more important than normal.

Vi pondered for a moment before coming up with a battle plan. He gathered all of the players together before telling their roles.

After telling everyone what they needed to do, they set out on a journey filled with battle and bloodshed.

__________

"FULL HOUSE!! HAHAHAHA!!"

"Damn it, I only have a pair of eights."

"Thc, your luck is crazy Yuvile. I got a two pair, twos and fours."

"Hehe, you think you have won so easily Yuvile, think again! FOUR OF A KIND, JACKS!!!!"

"Nooooooo!"

Around a table, four people were playing cards. The man that goes by Yuvile was practically deflating with sadness, he was so confident in that hand that he bet a whole four silver.

"Don't pout Yuvile, you were the one who was too confident. You should have just folded."

Yuvile heard his friend's words and his eye twitched, "I would be stupid to fold with a full house! I just got extremely unlucky-"

The man was about to finish his sentence when he saw the man that won put a finger to his lips, signifying him needing to be quiet and listen to his surroundings. The man was angry at his loss, but he still was good friends with this man, they have fought together multiple times; they would trust each other with their lives.

In the corner of the room, a man was naked blending into the shadows, he was an assassin who had the stealth skill. He was sweating bullets, he didn't expect the guards to have such good senses that he could hear him move.

"Maybe my ears are beginning to deceive my brain, I think we're good-"

He was stopped in the middle of his sentence, his own sword was going through his stomach. The sword turned, the blade facing the sky. It slashed upwards going through his body only to be stopped by his ribcage, although it was already enough.

The man fell over revealing a figure behind him, he didn't look like anybody special. If you were to walk by him you wouldn't take a second glance, but right now he was all the other guys could look at.

"Quickly contact another checkpoint, there has been an infiltration!"

"But Dexuirt was the one holding the walkie talky, he just died!"

"Well it's only one man, we can handle him-"

Ironically the man that was just talking about there only being one man, was punched in the face by Vi. He was flung into the wall with extreme force with his head hitting the wall before anything else, killing him instantly.

Before any other guard could react he was already in front of another guard and did the same attack, killing him.

The last guard stood there not able to do anything, he was traumatized. He just watched all of his friends die and he couldn't even react as his neck was snapped by Vi.

Thank you for reading!

As always 50 power stones = 1 extra chapter.
