Never Underestimate Him

Slanier Kahan Dalierro is a police officer with rank 100. He is a good man and the good grandson of his grandfather. Behind his goodness is the underestimation of him by the people around him.  The men he trusted betrayed him over a crime. Anger built up in his heart, but the people he trusted were the sons of billionaires, so it's hard to achieve justice. Until he found out that he was the son of the most feared, rich, brutal, and influential man.

Chapter 7.

At Dhamia's office.

Slanier stood properly in front of Dhamia. "Good morning, ma'am! Why did you call me? Do you need anything?"

"We have an operation. The operation we will do is life-threatening."

"Why, ma'am?"

She looked out the window. "We will attack a building that is a den of drugs. According to rank one's order, we have to burn the drugs there and catch the culprits."

"The operation we are going to do is indeed dangerous. But can we both do it, ma'am? It's not that I don't trust you."

"When drugs are involved, the owner of that building is automatically powerful. You know the owner himself can come back to us if all we catch are his men," He added.

"Yes, you're right, Slanier. That's why we need to use powerful guns. Trust me, we can succeed. It doesn't matter if the powerful owner of that building will come back to us."

"Got it, ma'am. That's why we pretend as civilians to protect our organization. But ma'am, You know my weakness is…"

"I know that you're not good at using guns. But I'm here. I will guide you."

"I'm afraid I might not be able to protect you, ma'am. I can't even hit the target in the middle, ma'am."

"Got it. But please, trust yourself, Slan. You just need practice. But this operation is urgent. We need to go to that building today as written in our mission paper."

"I-I s-see. What time will we go?"

"1 PM, partner Slan."

"Ma'am, can I go home first?"

"Yes, you can."

At Maha's apartment.

Slanier leaned weakly against their door.

"Hey, my Slan! What happened? Why are you here? Have you eaten yet?" Slantin met him at the door.

Slanier quickly hugged his grandfather.

"Slan, what happened? I will listen to you."

"I'm afraid… Slantin, I hate being me."

"Shh. It's okay. It's normal to be afraid. What happened? I will listen to you. Shh… Don't hate who you are. You all need to trust who you are, though it's not easy."

"Slantin, you know I'm afraid to use a gun because I'm not good at it. I can't even shoot in the middle of the target. What kind of policeman am I?"

His granddad could feel the trembling in Slanier's body.

"I don't even know how to use a gun, grandson. But you, I know you can handle it. Always rely on practice. But you can no longer practice when your operation as a police officer is on the spot. So please, believe in yourself."

"Did you know that anyone can handle a gun? But not everyone will use it for good. Talk to your gun. Make your gun your partner," Slantin smiled, "I trust you, Slanier. When you can't or you feel afraid, you should pray. Let God guide you."

"T-thanks, granddad. Thank you for being my voice whenever I have nothing to say. And thank you because you are my strength whenever I am weak."

"And thank you very much because you always insert the prayer whenever I have nothing to cling to," He added.

"You can do it, my Slan. I love you. I'm so proud of you. Always remember that there are people who believe in you and rely on your service."

He hugged Slantin. "Thanks for charging my heart and my mind with goodness. I appreciate you so much."

At the police station.

Dhamia and Slanier walked out of the station together while wearing civilian clothes. But they have guns with them.

"Hey! Where are you going?" Halin blocked their path.

Dhamia faked a smile, "We have an operation."

Halin laughed, "Are you sure that weak man is the one with you in the operation? He will only hide behind you when he hears a gunshot."

"Shut your mouth. I'm superior to you!"

Halin bowed. "Ma'am, sorry, ma'am."

Dhamia held Slanier's hand. "Let's go, Slanier."

Dhamia and Slanier have arrived at the building where they will do their operation. They hide in a big trash can.

"Ma'am, let's not rush. There are many guards at the door who are men in black."

"I know. What's your plan, Slan?"

"Let's go to the back of the building. Let's find a door there, ma'am."

"But I'm sure there's still a guard there. I can't believe that many policemen might die if they just rush into this building."

"Wait… Look at the top of the building; there are twenty snipers, ma'am. One wrong move, we will die. But that's why we're partners, so we can trust each other."

"I know… I know… But fuck! What will we do? I feel like my mind is blocked, Dalierro."

"Look, there's a garbage truck coming. Let's ride there, ma'am, and let's pretend to be a garbage collector."

"Copy. Nice plan, Slanier."

They immediately got behind the garbage truck when it stopped in front of them.

Four male garbage collectors saw them. What Dhamia did to the four collectors was hit them on the head to make them lose consciousness.

Dhamia bowed in front of them. "Sorry…"

He tapped her shoulder. "They will also have consciousness. For now, let's get their clothes first."

Dhamia took a deep breath, "God, let's go!"

The garbage truck stopped again. They went down.

"Ma'am, let's collect the garbage first. Many black in men are looking at us."

"Got it. How do we get through them?"

"I will bring two trash cans when we go inside the truck. We will wake up the garbage collectors. I don't want to do this, but we will scare them with our guns."

"Since they will put the two trash cans back inside, we will hide in the trash can. They will push the trash can for us," He added.

"Nice, Slan. But I'm sure it stinks inside."

"I know, ma'am. Are you sure you still want to come with me?"

"I can put up with the stinky smell of the trash so we can achieve a successful operation, Slan."

They walked slowly. When they entered the building, they could clearly see the packs of drugs in the cart being pushed by people wearing masks.

"The inside of this building is scary," She whispered.

"I'm more afraid that you will perish, ma'am. So please, we need to get out quietly, pushing the trash cans without anyone noticing us."

"Trust ourselves. We can do it," She encourages him.

They are currently pushing the trash can out of the building.

But they were surprised when a male guard stopped them.
