Barely moving out of the way while on his knees, Vain dodged everything until he made enough distance from the kitchen that the Clump needed to throw something to reach him.

The Clump on the other hand seemed to realize their meal had escaped the hunting ground and quickly cut its losses and had all eight arms move quickly back into the cabinets just as fast as they had come out.

Letting out a loud sigh of relief, Vain kept his distance from the kitchen while checking out the rest of the house, but this time holding his sword at the ready for anything weird in the house he hadn't noticed yet.

Checking the light switches Vain found that nothing had any power. Nothing but the moonlight from outside could give light to the dark house. Vain could only bring out his flashlight and check the house to see the safety.
