Never Die Like A Lion

After an unfortunate gamble, Miles finds himself in a familiar world but in an unknown body. It was a world he himself had created and himself destroyed. He had become an unimportant character in his novel, a character whose death was of no importance to the plot. His death meant the end of everything, and he would have to do everything to save this world or suffer the consequences.

Chapter 7 : Learning

"Do you want to learn how to use mana?"

"Yes, please, Mr. Tae-Wook. "

In the back of the pickup truck speeding down the road Tae-Wook and Fujiwara looked at Miles who also looked at them with hopeful eyes.

"It's true that it would be good for you to learn how to use your mana, it will help you to protect yourself but I'm not really good at teaching.

Miles saw Tae-Wook scratching his cheek with embarrassment and lowered his head with a disappointed look.

"Ask Fujiwara, he's pretty good at this kind of thing."

Miles immediately turned his eyes to Fujiwara who was still silent.

"I refuse."

Fujiwara's words wiped out the last shred of hope in Miles' eyes, and he bowed his head with a dejected look.

"You bastard, at least be nice to the kids, don't you have a heart?"

Tae-Wook said in a low voice while pulling Fujiwara towards him.

"A heart? What's a heart? Is it eaten?"

"Bastards, I order you, as leaders, to teach him!"

Fujiwara then looked at Tae-Wook with disgust, as if he were looking at a piece of trash.

"I never really considered you leaders, you virgin."

This didn't make Tae-Wook angry though, he looked at Fujiwara with a smile before sighing slowly.

"I see so you don't even consider me your boss, so our friendship until now was a lie, I don't have to lie for you anymore, when we get home I'm going to have to tell Anna about the hooker...."

Before Tae-Wook finished his words, Fujiwara blocked Tae-Wook's mouth with both hands and Miles saw him smile for the first time since they met.

"My best buddy Tae-Wook, my dearest leader how could I disobey an order, okay Miles I'll teach you the basics of mana."

Tae-Wook smiling like a demon took Fujiwara's hands off his mouth and laughed with joy while tapping him on the shoulder.

"I knew I could count on you Fijiwara, after all I am your respected and beloved leader."

"Chief, the mere fact that you doubt that makes my heart ache. "

"I thought you had no heart?"

"It's just a misunderstanding."

"Shut up both of you, I'm trying to drive."

Aron, hearing the laughter of the two, couldn't help but shout as Miles looked at them with a strange look.

Am I really the creator of such beings?

. . . . . .

"First of all kid tell me what you know about mana."

Miles sitting in front of Fujiwara hearing this, took a thoughtful look thinking for a moment before answering.

"I know that mana is an energy, which appeared many centuries ago and the people who can use it are called mana users."

Miles lied shamelessly, he knew mana better than a hundred Fujiwara but he couldn't say anything about it because it could only lead to the suspicion of the three.

"Besides that my knowledge is limited to what I have written, how can a second rate author's bullshit equal the reality of this world."

Miles had described several times in his novel how to use mana but it was limited to crap like <feeling mana and accumulating it through meditation>> or other such bullshit.

He had tried this several times when he left the city but without success, he simply could not feel the mana as described in his novel.

"If I want to win the bet, I'm going to have to stop being a depressed goth motherfucker and get off my ass."

Fujiwara saw Miles immersed in his thoughts and sighed lazily then snapped his fingers to attract Miles' attention before removing a black knife from his clothes and holding it casually in his right hand.

"Mana is an existing energy that appeared about three centuries ago during an event called the first great mana wave."

"Mana users are people who have the ability to accumulate mana and use it as they wish for things that are impossible for a normal human."

A black aura emanated from the knife in Fujiwara's hand under the astonished eyes of Miles as he continued to speak.

"A mana user must first learn to accumulate mana in his body but this is not something that can be shown, it can only be felt by the user after his awakening, but as an example then imagine this knife as a human body trying to accumulate mana."

"You must first feel the mana around you, visualize it and then accumulate it in your body like this knife."

Miles saw the dark aura around the knife become uniform around the blade.

"But if the user ever performs this step incorrectly."

The dark aura dissipated instantly and the knife in Fujiwara's hands fell apart.

Miles' heart skipped a beat when he saw the knife in pieces and he thanked his lucky star for not allowing him to feel his mana.
