Alina's resolution to keep Ivo in the apartment lasted all of one day.

She couldn't take it. Not his constant cheer, not his good-natured servility, and worst of all: how he went quiet and got out of her sight when he noticed it bothered her.

How could she tell him that he was no longer the person she remembered?

How could she stop letting her anger at the situation bleed off into every interaction she had with him?

"Fucking Davi, and fucking Vice, buzzing off to play heroes, and leaving us here to handle the mess," she told Thiago over lukewarm, leftover dinner the two of them heated up on the night the other two left for the gig.

Ivo kept insisting he wasn't hungry, so he didn't join them for dinner. Yet another thing Alina would rather not think about.

"I'm leaving for Paraisópolis tomorrow," Thiago said, biting into his limp sandwich with a grimace. "I'm just here to check on you. There's work to do there."
