Ivo asked her what she meant, but she told him she'd only say more after school.

The car stopped in front one of the few low buildings in the entire city. A mansion in faux barroque style, with sugary plaster curlicues and a pastel blue paint job. It stood right at the border between Higienópolis, the lux neighbourhood where the D'Amico family lived, and another lux neighbourhood.
Ivo left the car, opened the door for Letícia and took her hand with a reluctant sigh. Davi trailed a few steps behind them as Ivo led the little girl up the cobbled stairway and towards the iron-wrought gate, where a smiling teacher was greeting every student.
