It was almost dawn when they left the bar. Ivo said goodbye to Edu after getting paid for the night, and warned him he wouldn't be available again for at least a week.
"Yeah, I figured something of the sort, when I saw you all talking with Vital," he said with a kind smile. "Good luck, and be careful."
Back at the apartment, sleep seemed out of Ivo's grasp, especially with the pale light of dawn filtering in through Alina's poor attempt at a curtain. He was afraid all his tossing and turning might disturb Davi, so he took his pillow and left for the sofa.
He didn't believe he was going to fall asleep, even in the dark of the living room. His mind was too crowded. He'd been complaining about not actually seeing much 'action' in the previous gigs. Well, he was about to see some now.
But Ivo wasn't sure if killing an entire family, including a little kid, was what he had in mind.
