How polite I can be

The tension between Rodrigo and Melissa stretched until the air sparked with it. Vice expected them to come to blows at any moment, and was disappointed when instead Rodrigo let out a derisive little snort and returned his attention to the food in front of him.

"I don't remember the last time I had codfish." He eyed the fish on his fork with exaggerated attention. "Honestly, I thought it had gone extinct."

Melissa took a bite of the codfish as well. "They say that on the newscasts every year, it's just a ploy to drive up prices."

Rodrigo hummed. "Well, one day it will be true."

"Naturally."

Vice couldn't keep listening to them, not while his skin was vibrating with everything he'd seen in Rodrigo's secret room.

It took everything in him not to throw a knife at the man's eye. Disgust didn't even begin to cover what he was feeling.

He knew his behaviour was erratic. Davi kept chancing him sideways glances whenever he as much twitched.
