The Alpha Calls.

"Hey you two, what are you guys doing over there?!" A gigantic male yelled, coming towards Nicki and the troublesome girl's direction. The male would have been more fearful if he had that strong, deeply masculine voice but he didn't. Which made Nicki fear nothing more than his hideous but incredible height.

Where did this one come from? Nicki's mind just couldn't accept the male's huge height. So, it wasn't only werewolves that lived here but giants too?. Where did the Alpha even get this one from?

"Hey, I'm talking to you two. Why aren't you with the others training?" The gigantic male shot another question to Nicki and the troublesome girl and they both kept mute. Nicki had no idea what was going on in the girl's mind but she had only one option to get out of this.

Run! - and this was it.

But coming to think of it first before doing it, how could she outrun this giant if she was to run and he happens to start chasing her? Just one step of his would make him chase up to her and cover up the distance between them and the floor could probably start shaking because of the weight of his footsteps too.

Nicki started to reconsider running, there was no way she would beat him. She just needed the help of her guides, the few people she knew around here and of course Ariana who she knew could help her too, but wouldn't be able to to help her out of this trouble.

And besides, where would she end up running to? When she hasn't fully known every single place in this prison. There wasn't a place she would hide that the giant wouldn't find her. So, she just stayed cool and stopped herself from freaking out.

"This would be the last time I will be asking nicely. Why aren't you guys in training with the others? Especially you Nadia" The male asked and this time pointed at the person he was directing the question to. Nicki quickly swallowed a lump down her throat, thanking her stars she wasn't the one the gigantic man was talking to.

She literally had nothing to say in fear but to request for her guides to come to her aid. Now, she was starting to see one of the reasons they are going to be useful to her here. She takes back what she said that day she claimed she didn't need them.

"Nothing, Catrus, I just wanted to take a little break. I've been working my ass off every day when we are never told why we do this all the time" The troublesome girl said impudently while staring at her nails.

Although Catrus was greatly feared mostly because of his height, he wasn't the type to get quick by anger like Nicki was thinking he would. He got slightly offended by what Nadia said to him and how she stood with a bold face instead of scurrying over to her training spot like the others would do at the sight of him.

No one ever wants to be the reason Catrus gets mad.

And instead of yelling at her as if it was his thing. He decided to handle the situation amicably without bringing unwanted attention to them while other students were training too.

"You guys have been told you will be notified of why training happens here every day at the right time. So now, get back to your spot while I'm still asking nicely or I will have to drag you back there right now. You know being nice isn't my thing"

Citrus warned nicely with a little bit of threat in his voice. This was the nicest he could be and he doesn't like repeating himself too much. And Nadia played smart by avoiding anything that would have brought a problem between them. She knew the punishment that would have come to her for refusing to obey a guide's command.

Nicki wasn't going to thank her stars for long when the troublesome girl whose name was Nadia obeyed the gigantic male and left. She knew she was the next person to be dealt with now.

"And you, Nicki Landon. What are you doing here and not training with the others?" The male didn't only make Nicki scarier with his question but with the kind of gaze he was giving her. It was as if he could see directly into her soul.

Nicki wanted to ask how he got to know her name but she could barely find the voice to answer the question he asked. Astrid wasn't wrong when she said she was popular around this place already, just because she defied the Alpha and he didn't punish her for it.

"I..I…I..I…" The anxiety that held Nicki the night she met the Alpha and saw him tear someone's head off his body was back again. Was this an unrecoverable side effect of the trauma she witnessed that night or something else?.

"Where are your guides?" The male could sense the amount of fear that gripped Nicki and had to ask her a simpler question she could easily give him a response to. He was surprised and wondered why she was this scared when there was nothing here that could hurt her.

"They…they.. they…are with the Alpha" However, Nicki was still as scared as hell to give him a clear answer without stuttering.

"Are you okay? You look terrible" Catrus got really concerned about Nicki and attempted to touch her forehead to know if she was feeling fine. She just turned pale before his eyes and it wasn't a good sign.

"I'm…I'm fine" Nicki moved away from his touch and strongly made him know she was okay. He didn't have to worry about her since it wasn't his job. He's not her guide.

"Okay, if you say so" Catrus kept his hand to himself with the belief that Nicki Landon was fine. "Since your guides aren't here, you can stay over there and wait for them to come back. I don't want to see you around this door or leaving this place when training is still going on"

Nicki had a silly thought for a minute, thinking Catrus was about to tell her to join the others in training when he wasn't her guide, because her legs would have been firmly glued to the floor unless he forcefully took her by himself.

Her guides are still fighting over her but she would still choose them over anyone else here to be her guide.

They actually seem to be the nicest guides here indeed. And with that thought in her head, Nicki gradually started walking over to the certain place Catrus pointed and told her to stay till her guides got back when the door was suddenly pushed open and someone came in looking for her. However, it wasn't what she wanted to hear.

"The Alpha calls for you"
