"What? They let you go? For real?" Nicki's eyes widened out of surprise, finding out from Darren right now that he was actually freed and not just released for them to see each other for a bit, and then later, he would go back to being chained again. She used to think this was never going to happen in this place. What's with the sudden change of mind? 

Well, she's so glad to see him anyway and Darren being in new clothes too and not looking like a badly beaten criminal he used to look like before added to her excitement.

"Yeah, they did. I don't really know why, I tried asking when they were taking the chains off, but none of them uttered a word to me. They even let me have a shower, God, I used to stink as hell" Darren sniffed himself and released his breath with a good sigh of relief. These weren't his type of clothes, however, since he had no say here, he couldn't do anything about it.
