"The sound came from outside the academy!", Said Elviera while looking surprised at Nigel who wasn't looking any less surprised too.

A group of elves in white costumes and swords sheathed by their sides were running in the corridor and passing by the room where Elviera and Nigel where talking, and of course, they noticed them.

"Those are the saint knights assigned to protect the academy, they don't move unless a true threat appears.", Said Nigel while looking worried before both of him and Elviera run towards the door and Elviera stopped one of the saint knights outside.

"Hey, what is going on?", Asked Elviera in worry.

"There is a demonic attack on the gates of the academy and they already set one of the gates on fire.", Said the elf knight seriously.

"What!? But how? The dark energy sensors should have detected them before they enter the external grounds of the academy by several miles.", Said Nigel seriously.

"We don't know what happened yet, kid, but for now, stay safe and don't even think about going out of thue building anytime soon, it's better to even move towards the center of the building as the rooms in this section are somehow exposed to the outside and the scarlet giants may throw their fire at them, we are going to help the professors against this attack.", Said the elf knight seriously while his fellow knights pass behind him.

"Nigel, do as the saint knight says and head towards the research department, I will go and help the professors.", Said Elviera seriously.

"The students shouldn't interfere in such a dangerous matter, even the ones trained to be a tactical divine casters like you, young lady, the professors are experienced divine casters and know how to deal with such a dangerous situation, we got several scarlet giants, many demonic hounds and also scarlet soldiers, don't try going out there if you value your life.", Said the elf knight in a threatening manner before turning back and started running, Nigel looked a bit afraid.

"I don't care, Nigel, do as I told you, you aren't trained for fighting, I must help them.", Said Elviera bravely before walking a step outside the room but immediately Nigel's hand held hers and stopped her, Elviera turned to look at him to find that he was looking serious.

"I'm not going to leave you go out there after what I heard, both of us aren't ready for that now, we are still inexperienced for this, didn't you hear what he just said? It's surely a well planned attack, even the dark energy sensors didn't detect the large numbers of the demons in this attack, it will be suicide if you went out there.", Said Nigel firmly, Elviera looked surprised.

"Nigel, I can't leave them.", Said Elviera.

"NO! Even you aren't the only student that will remain, look around, all the others are going towards the center of the building to avoid the battle, we are still young for this, but if you insist then I will come with you, and since I'm just a researcher then surely I won't stay alive for a couple of minutes and I'll be dead because of you.", Said Nigel seriously while holding Elviera's hand tightly.

Elviera was mesmerized, he completely cares about her and she can clearly feel the fear in his hand.

"I didn't know he cares that much about me.", Thought Elviera while looking surprised before smiling.

"Fine, Nigel, I think you are right, probably it's a wrong idea to go aimlessly like that.", Said Elviera calmly while looking at Nigel who finally started looking relieved after hearing her.

"Thank the gods, I always knew you were insanely brave, but that sounded lunatic, thanks for listening to me.", Said Nigel happily.

"Okay, let's go, the elf knight said that the demons might target these rooms, it's dangerous to stay here for much longer.", Said Elviera calmly before they started moving between the many guards and the students in corridor, what is happening is a complete chaos that made everyone afraid and confused.

The outside of the academy wasn't looking good with several explosions by the scarlet giants on the ground and the guards that's trying to hold them back.

But here is the question that every professor isn't understanding, why such a sudden attack on the academy?
