A quiet afternoon, As quiet as An afternoon can be, Muriel sat down on the comfortable chair in his study room, carefully Analysing the pile of documents resting on the desk.
Muriel's heterochromic set of eyes hiding behind his reading glasses, landed on a copy of the letter he sent two days ago in request for a personal physician, the one he sent to Dr.Ned Valentino.
Tucking locks of his long light blonde hair behind his ears, Muriel smiled deeply at the letter.
His newest assistant Socorro, took notice of the Faint brightness in his Majesty's mood, " it is such a blessing to see you finally smile your Majesty! I hope whatever made you smile Lasts forever." She said.
Muriel lifted his head to face the bright smiling and free spirited woman by his side, Her long wild locks of wavy Dark reddish brown hair were skillfully braided, her clothes were of humble and presentable nature, and her smile as she stared at him was adorned by her Pearly white teeth.
It's been only few months since he hired Socorro after firing the assistant before her, and he's already attached to the down to earth commoner girl, with a gentle yet strong persona.
Always Dressed in simple outfits, speaks nothing but her mind and is always ready to go to extreme lengths to complete her tasks.
That was Socorro Belmonte, the king's new assistant, who his Majesty playfully nicknamed CoCo.
A dependable Beta woman, Socorro or 'CoCo' earned her place and his Majesty's trust with hard work and honest display of loyalty.
Before this job, nobody knew who she was or where she came from, to everyone she's a beautiful mystery.
Although Muriel deliberately choose a beta woman, in order to avoid any unnecessary attachment.
The Young king still found himself extremely fond of the new assistant, she was like a best friend and a sister to him.
"Coco?"
"Yes your majesty?"
"Can you braid my hair for me? I feel like leaving my desk for a short walk, and I do not want my hair to get in my way.
I remember you said earlier that it is a little bit windy out there at the moment, I rather not have my hair suffocate me as I seek some fresh air."
"As you wish your majesty, I must admit I'm a little surprised you'd request such a thing from me."
"True, as my assistant your job does not include taking care of my looks but rather my business.
I have maids that can do the job, but none of them can take care of my long hair properly.
And I do not wish to cut my hair as a solution, so since you have locks as long and as difficult as mine and your hair is always well kept, I would love it if you would be kind enough to add my hairpiece to the list of your usual duties." Muriel asked not ordered, he might be a king but he wasn't cruel enough to force anyone to be overworked especially not CoCo .
Socorro's Smiling eyes matching her hair in color, briefly met with His Majesty's eyes, one of Muriel's eyes was Golden and the other was sky blue.
Socorro enjoyed admiring his eyes as they held a feeling of safety whenever she stared at them, "tehehe! you look like an adorable needy cat so...I will accept your humble request." She said playfully teasing him while sitting down at the sofa nearby.
Pouting yet secretly grateful, Muriel left his seat to join her on the sofa, facing her with his back so she can do his hair.
Socorro pulled out her handcrafted wooden comb from the pocket of her dress, gently brushing Muriel's feathery locks with it.
The motion eased the Young king's head a little, after all the paperwork he had to do, he felt sleepy like a little child with each stroke.
"Maybe instead of walking outside, you should walk to your bedroom and have a nap your majesty, it seems like you had a rough day today." She spoke up.
Sighting, Muriel wiggle his finger with a no "I cannot rest, not while I still have to welcome Dr. Valentino into the palace walls." he said.
"Oh my! I've completely forgotten! you sent Matilda after him my king, they should be on the way by now... Although, why do you appear rather excited about having The New doctor? is he someone special?" she asked.
"Matter of fact yes! remember the story I have told you about the two boys around my age that saved my life, back when I ended up lost in the forest after an attack on my life? it happened when I was 9 years old.
Well Ned was one of those very same two boys, I already paid debt to the first boy, the one who guided me out of woods and protected me from my attackers.
Ned was the boy who treated my wounds before the knights escorted me back to the palace, he did a pretty good job calming me down that day.
Both boys refused any rewards for their kindness, they would not accept any money or gifts whatsoever, so I made a promise to return the favor to them another day." He said.
"It's so meant to be that the little boy who treated you Became a doctor!...what about the first boy your majesty, the one who protected you? You never told me who he is?" Socorro Asked.
"Oh him! he is already here in the castle infact, he has been here for years now.
I sent for him when he turned 16 and recruited him as a knight... much to my expectations he exceed all of them, I am about to announce him a commander in few days.
Hopefully in the upcoming years, his performance will remain if not become more pleasing." Muriel replied.
"My king, Are you perhaps thinking about handing him the Grand Commander rank? I think I know now who's the boy you speak of now...must be Sir Delun, the knight with the bright violet purple hair and eyes, the one who got all the single omegas in the castle drooling over him." Socorro said.
"All the single omegas CoCo?" Muriel pointed out.
Embarrassed, "Oh nonono! of course not you my king! the last thing you need is another... Alpha in your life." Socorro mumbled.
"What was that? I didn't hear you coco?" Muriel asked.
"I said Absolutely nothing my beloved king! oh my! look! I just finished your hair! lovely feeling isn't it? for your hair to be braided." Socorro said nervously, before quickly excusing herself out of the study room, her cheeks flushed in red from embarrassment as she escaped.
Amused, "You are very lucky dear Socorro, That I consider you as close as a sister." Muriel stated giggling to himself.
He walked back to the desk and opened a drawer, pulling a mirror out to inspect his hair.
"Oh wow! I really look pretty with my hair this way, maybe I should change its color...I should try red...it may not be a horrible idea." he said to himself.
A knock on the door pulled The Young king back from admiring the hairdo, it was one of his servants at the door.
" Your majesty! I have brought the dress you have previously requested of me to bring, shall I give it to you here?" The Messy haired servant asked.
"Ah yes please come in Lucius! thank you, just leave the dress on the sofa, I will change here." Muriel answered the boy servant.
"Do you need a help in dressing up my king? or can I excuse myself?" Lucius asked, gently placing the gown in his hand on the soft blue fabric sofa Muriel sat on earlier.
"No no, I can do it myself, thank you...I know you are busy so I will not hold you back.
You must be eager to visit your mother at the hospital, send him my regards when you arrive." Muriel spoke with a gentle smile.
"kind as ever my king, will do then." Lucius bowed and walked out the room in a bit of a hurry, it made the king smile bigger at the servant.
"Someday when the hair on my head turns grey, and my body becomes frail and fragile, I wonder if my children will be this eager to come and visit me, not just as king but as a mother as well." said his Majesty, before going back to continue what he was doing earlier.
The smile on his face was still as radiant as ever.
Yes the king is a pretty omega who wears dresses and likes his hair to be braided.
