...Back to actual time...
"Dare I say...that You seem...mentally drained Jasper?"
"You have no idea Grey! every single time I try to relax by myself, somebody pops-up with a new side quest for me...First Fernando then Muriel and now you.
When you NPCs are going to let me be depressed in peace?"
"I apologize again...for the inconvenience.
I wish I...could have told...you beforehand but...I have not...told anyone I...would be here.
In fact because...everyone is so...sure that I...rarely leave the...library...they don't expect...me to go...anywhere else." Grey said.
"Yeah, Faunus told me a lot about you and how you stick to your books, most of the time.
You seem like the least type of person to ever wanna hurt Faunus, so why did you do it?" Jasper asked.
"It may seem...as a shocker...but it was... Faunus's request that...I do so.
I am incapable...of fully understanding...the logic behind...it." Grey replied.
"You're telling me, Faunus wanted to get possessed?!"
"Yes...he tried to...explain it as...necessary so that...his twin would...not repeat the...same mistake again."
"Believe me, you're not the only one struggling to understand the logic behind this Grey.
Ugh...unfortunately I don't have my sister's ability to confirm whether you're telling me the truth, but believe me again! if you are lying, I have no problem punishing you."
"Actually Jasper...I would love...A display of...your ability! it's so rare...and so special...I would love...to see it...in action." Grey requested.
"You know Grey, it wasn't the way I was raised alone but the experiences I lived throughout my life as well, that made me believe violence is never the answer." Jasper said standing-up.
"But it always surprised me that people like my sister...Thorn...Fernando and even Tacito.
Always chose violence, either by exuding it or fighting what was inflicted on them, with an equal violence of their own." He added.
"Violence is something...deeply rooted within...any living creature's...mind.
No matter how...calm and poised...you can be...everyone has something...that will bring...out true violence...from within them." Grey stated.
"Honestly today has been a rough day, mainly because I keep interacting with people when I don't want to... but also because I realized that my friend Yuri was right.
I am getting weak against that violence, I want to hurt someone, and I think i just became like Fernando in a way...weird isn't it?" Jasper said chuckling.
"Then you shouldn't...hold back Jasper...there's plenty of...opportunities to hurt...someone.
I am right...before you and...I want to see...your ability working...you can use...it on me...however you like." Grey said with a blank expression.
"You might be the most fucked-up motherfucker, I had to deal with lately Grey... it's just a simple thought and I can kill you!
Are you that desperate? to see my ability in action? how did you come to know about it anyways?"
"Actually I have...an ability myself...and I can...tell who has...which ability specifically.
I can sense...abilities from a...distance and yours...is very special...because it reminds...me of home."
"Home?"
"Mind abilities are...common among those...who have werewolf...blood within them.
Not every werewolf...has abilities but...usually werewolves can...communicate telepathically with...each other if...they are a...part of the...same pack of... wolves." Grey explained.
"Last time I checked, I was human." Jasper said, "No you are... not!...neither is your...sister.
From what you...have told me...she also has...a mind ability.
Abilities among Twins...Are usually either... opposite of or...complete each other." Grey replied.
"Well my sister can read thoughts, I can implant thoughts...Does that make me the opposite? or the missing piece of the puzzle?"
"It could be...both but I...believe that the...importance of your... abilities are on...the same level.
It's true that...yours is more...dangerous than hers...but maybe that's...why she has...her ability instead...of yours specifically."
"You mean she can act as an amulet for me...while my sister needs an object to stop her ability, I need her to stop me...is that what you're trying to say?" Jasper said while stretching his arms.
"I suppose you...can say that." Grey replied.
"So you're an ability radar?... well since you came all this way Grey, I should be a good host and give you what you asked for! but don't worry I won't kill you, I wouldn't risk your life out of respect for Faunus." Jasper said smiling, he walked-up to Grey and looked him in the eyes.
[Show me where you got all bloody.]
In a blink of an Eye, Grey was standing and walking towards the front door, with Jasper following behind him.
In few minutes, they existed the neighborhood, and the two walked nonstop afterwards until they made it to a dark alleyway, near the very same convenient store, where Jasper bought his ice-cream a while ago.
At The end of this alley, were two big and full dumpsters side by side, trash was particularly overflowing from them, it was perfect to hide a body, or so Jasper thought as he saw what seemed like a human hand coming out from one of the dumpsters.
The effects of Jasper's ability worn off and Grey regain control of himself, "Back to the... scene of crime...this is amazing...I came here... without even knowing." He said in awe.
"Is there a dead person inside?" Jasper asked but Grey answered by lifting the lid of the dumpster in question.
Jasper looked at the body of unfamiliar man that was beaten to a pulp.
With surprised eyes, "Jesus Christ! did you kill someone before you came into my house?!" Jasper Asked.
"He's not dead!...I only beat...him half to... death." Grey replied sheepishly.
"Hold on? you the sickly boy who can't get-up from his bed, turned this man into a used pinata?!"
"I found him...stabbing a cat...I did not...like it I...thought I should...teach him a...lesson.
I hate when...the strong pick...on the weak...human or not."
"What a hero...I'm surprised I'm not vomiting right now, Usually sights like these are disgusting for me to see." Jasper Said with curiosity in his voice, "Just for caution, you didn't leave behind anything linking you to this guy? it'll only be a matter of time before he's discovered." He added pointing at the man in the dumpster.
Nodding, "Yes...Should we go...back now Jasper?" Grey asked, "Yeah, let's go...we both had a lot today." Jasper said walking away.
...Meanwhile...
"He can do what?!" Garrick said in disbelief, "You see, the real reason why Jade stuck around her brother, was to protect him from himself more than anyone else." Ned replied.
Garrick decided earlier to stay woth Ned in his office, Until the doctor finishes and heads for The surprise party Tacito and Muriel are throwing later on.
"How can Their powers be equal! I mean reading Minds is cool and all, but controlling them is on a whole another level.
Her ability is Automatic, but his works by his command, that's gotta be one hell of an ability?!" Garrick said.
Standing-up from his seat, Ned grabbed his coat and wore it quickly, "He still can't hear other people's thoughts, and knowledge is power itself...as for his ability, Jasper can force one thought at the time, and then he goes into a cooling off period before he can't use it again.
And that period depends on how powerful the thought he forced on his opponent.
Plus, let's say Jasper used his ability on the same person multiple times, with each time the effect gets weakened until he can no longer control that person.
Jade's ability doesn't stop working at all, plus she can read her brother's thoughts, so he isn't immune to her." Ned explained.
"Why are you telling me about this lovely?"
"To watch out...Although Jasper doesn't use his ability, lately he's been pushed to lose his cool."
"Knowing how peaceful Jasper is, I understand why he wouldn't use his ability...can he force someone to die?"
"It's a seriously strong thought to force, but I think it's possible he'd push someone to Their death... however I can't confirm it."
"What would happen if the two of them, combined their abilities? Jasper and Jade?" Garrick asked as they went outside the office together.
Closing the door behind them, "You can only imagine how strong they can be, if united." Ned replied smiling.
"I've noticed something lovely...you and the twins have a tremendous amount of power, yet you rarely ever chose violence, why?" Garrick asked
"Because it's boring." Ned simply replied,
"Boring?"
"Yes! it's boring to use abilities, weapons and even physical force to win battles."
"Why is that?"
"Rickie, Powers like these should be used defensively, to protect oneself or their loved ones from those who chose violence!
The real battle is here." Ned replied tapping on Garrick's forehead, "You mean psychological war?"
"Yes Rickie! let me give you an example!
in many ancient monarchies, if you notice the Queens and women of those very monarchies, usually gain Their powers through conspiracies, lies, deception and schemes.
Some of these women didn't need to lift a finger to kill an entire village! that's where real power is...you don't need to step into the battlefield to fight." Ned explained.
"Without lifting a finger...I see now! in order to show your dominance, you relay on logic for offense, and strength for Defense!" Garrick said enthusiastically, "Now you get it." Ned replied.
"Not using your abilities too much means you're currently attacking, so you really are planning something! aren't you Lovely?"
"Yeah, but I gotta admit, teaming-up with Fernando is giving me anxiety...so let's just hope we make it to volume 3 alive." Ned said sighing.
"Hey, you playing with fire takes away your Right to complain if you get burned." Garrick said smugly, "Ha! look at you...what a smartass." Ned replied smiling as he saw someone waving at them.
"Bestie!...I bet people forgot we exist." Matilda said while throwing a glance at Socorro besides her.
"Coco...you look, awful!" Ned said feeling uneasy, "Hey! how can you talk to a lady like that!" Matilda scolded him.
"Seriously girls! you disappeared for two days, explain yourselves?" Ned asked.
"Ned, I came to realize something." Socorro softly said almost in a whispering voice.
"Miss Belmonte, you're acting strange?" Garrick said worried.
"I'm useless, what's the point of my existence." she suddenly blurted out.
"Coconut! what are you saying?!" Matilda replied, "You don't understand, None of you understand! I don't belong here?! I'm not supposed to be here." She said falling to her knees.
"Coco!" Ned and Matilda both knelt to her side, "Coconut what's gotten into you?! you've been feeling bad for the past two days but you wouldn't tell me why." Matilda asked.
"Belmonte, if you're feeling unwell, you can tell me." Ned said calmly but one look at Socorro's crazed eyes, startled him.
"Derora...is my home, this place is not for me... Derora is in ruins, it's infested with all sorts of evil... all because of you." Socorro said pointing at Garrick.
"Me?" Garrick was understandably confused and so were Ned and Matilda.
"Socorro what are you talking about?!" Ned asked her, "Derora is in ruins, Derora is in ruins... Derora is in ruins." but she kept saying the same things about Derora's kingdom over and over, ignoring anyone who tried to talk with her.
"It's like she's not herself Anymore." Ned said horrified, "Matilda?" he said turning his attention to his best friend.
"I can't feel her like usual anymore." Matilda said terrified, "What's going on?!" she asked.
