The Strange Encounter: An Auction for an Elf"

Parslov slowly came to life as the sun rose higher in the sky. Alex travelled across the city towards the affluent Goldert family's residence as a trainee housekeeper. The palace, a magnificent castle that had been standing for two centuries, served as a symbol of the family's riches and influence. Alex was unable to enter the castle, though. He instead resided in a modest structure next to the other members of the Goldert family at the castle.

Alex breathed a sigh of relief and went to his room on the second level. The only furniture in the room was a bed, a desk, a towel rack, and a wardrobe. His gaze landed on the huge, shabbily constructed closet as he peered about. He recalled that the wardrobe had a secret section that contained a mystical object belonged to a necromancer.

Alex was ready to look into it more when there was an unexpected tap at the door. Calling out in a lovely, milky voice, "Alex! Get up fast; Master Alvis has to leave for something." Young aristocrat Alvis, the Goldert family's heir, was renowned for his opulent lifestyle and love of parties.

Alex quickly changed his clothes and went to meet Alvis, accompanied by Meg, a 13-year-old maid with blonde hair and a kind, lovely demeanour. They entered a luxurious carriage with dark red velvet interiors and heating, where they found Alvis waiting for them. Despite the dark circles under his eyes, Alvis seemed excited about something.

With a smile, Alvis remarked to Alex, "Alex, I'm sorry for waking you up so early.

"Master Alvis, what excellent news has you so ecstatic that you couldn't sleep all night?" It was Alex.

"Elf! It's a genuine elf! Three ladies reportedly just came last night, according to reports from the Roy auction house. The Gaia Forest is allegedly where the elf was taken prisoner. I have never seen an elf before, and I must purchase one this time or I will live to regret it "Alvis said ecstatically.

This information startled Alex. In his memory, elves were a rare type of humanoid, not frequently seen even in the Kingdom of Azora's capital. He was incredulous.

As the carriage arrived at the Liwa Auction House, it was clear that the Goldert family was not the only one interested in the elf. The gate was crowded with people, all eager to see the rare creature. Alvis, Alex, and Meg made their way inside, where they found a bustling auction house filled with wealthy individuals from all over the city.

Alex kept having the impression that something was strange about the situation as the bidding went on. It was weird when three elf slave girls suddenly appeared in a tiny town like Parslov City, and it was even stranger when word of the sale travelled so rapidly.

Alex was observing the events when he observed a group of adventurers standing in the room's corner, all of them had a nervous and unhappy appearance. He approached Alvis and said in a low voice, "Alvis, those men don't look right."

Alvis wasn't a dim-witted affluent child since he was the well-educated Goldert family heir. He called for a waitress to come over after noticing the adventurers' peculiar behaviour. He said a few words inaudibly before giving the waitress a note.

When the waiter recognised the amount written on the paper, a glimmer of delight appeared on his face, and he swiftly withdrew to acquire further details. A little while later, he returned bearing news. "Those men were responsible for bringing the elves to this area. They were meant to be transported to Faeroe City after being apprehended in the Gaia Forest. They had a bizarre incident en route, which resulted in multiple deaths, so they made the decision to stop in Parslov City for the time being."

"Do you realise what struck me as odd about the encounter?" Alvis questioned with serious eyes.

"They withheld the information, my lord. All they could say was that it was an unusual and disturbing event. They had a senior apprentice knight as a companion, but even he was reportedly murdered by whatever it was "With a sense of discomfort, the waiter answered.

This information startled Alex. A strong figure with charmed weapons and other magical accessories, a senior apprentice knight was a formidable opponent. They must have experienced something very horrible if they had been slain.

The term "weird" was actually merely a way for regular people to describe occurrences that defied logic. They thought unusual things like amazing powers, monsters, ghosts, devils, and other occurrences. However, they were only a component of the environment they lived into those in the know.
