It was a new day and I was at Mr. Parker’s house watching the twins again. They were sitting on the floor coloring a tree or a lion I wasn’t sure.

/"Kennie,/" I heard Lizzie call me by the nickname she has given me.

/"Yes Lizzie,/" I answered while taking my eyes off the television and looking at her while sipping on the glass of water that was in my hand.

/"Do you love my father?/" Choking because the water had ventured down the wrong hole, I looked at her confused.

/"What gave you that impression Lizzie?/"

/"Well daddy is always looking at you like he loves you and lacy and I agree you guys should be together. We want you to be our new mommy./" My mouth hit the floor. I was so shocked that an eight-year-old was telling me this.
