Chapter 10 Tsunade

On their journey, Naruto and Jiraiya took a month to find Tsunade. Along the way, they did not encounter Akatsuki, and Akatsuki did not attack the village either. It seemed that the ninja world already knew of their existence and wouldn't go mad until they believed they had enough power to face a jinchūriki with full control over their bijū.

Naruto could only smile at their lack of imagination. When they thought they were ready to face him, he would already be a god.

During this month, under Jiraiya's tutelage, his strength and endurance had grown only slightly more than during the months he trained on his own. However, in terms of technique, speed of movement, agility, taijutsu, and jutsu execution, he was on a completely different level.

Jiraiya summoned the Elder Toads, known as Dad and Mom, to teach him genjutsu properly. Naruto remained slow in execution, but that didn't mean his genjutsu was weak, as it was based on enemy chakra control, and the Sage Mode and Kurama provided him with excellent perception of it. Furthermore, in terms of genjutsu, what interested him was defense, and with more research, he would soon be immune to it.

Naruto didn't forget his village affairs and sent a clone every day to report to his assigned clones in the village. In turn, the village's assigned clones provided him with information, creating a clone to gather details and then dispersing, keeping him informed of everything happening in Konoha, where calm prevailed.

The Village of the Sand had committed to a peace alliance, receiving economic assistance and sharing gathered information from their surroundings. At Naruto's request, the villages had also started a small trade due to their proximity, as food was very expensive in the Village of the Sand.

Another thing happening in the Village of Konoha related to him was the creation of a massive laboratory where all the artifacts and research resources seized from Orochimaru were being installed. These resources included test subjects who had been subjected to the Cursed Seal and various genetic experiments.

Naruto didn't plan to do the same as Orochimaru, but the village wouldn't allow them to leave and take what Orochimaru had given them. Naruto's job was to undo what Orochimaru had done, especially removing the Cursed Seal. He had made progress in this thanks to the ten thousand clones working on it.

Every night at midnight, the clones dispelled their own jutsu, and Naruto received all the knowledge acquired. Then, using Sage Mode and Chakra Mode, he created another clone with enough chakra to create another ten thousand clones and sent it back to the village using the summoning jutsu to continue their work.

Thanks to this incredibly broken clone technique, his research never stopped, only increasing in speed each time the clones dispelled and were recreated, concentrating the knowledge acquired individually.

Naruto hadn't neglected his relationship with Gaara and had sent a clone to the Village of the Sand to train him properly. Although the Panda Raccoon was somewhat obstinate and threatened to kill him at least ten times a day when he called him "Brother Panda," Naruto continued to bother Gaara because he genuinely found him a very cute kid.

To stay by his side, Naruto's clone used the transformation jutsu to replace one of the ninjas killed by Orochimaru and stay with the panda. Only Kankurō, Temari, and Baki, Gaara's team sensei, knew his true identity. However, as he was teaching Gaara to control his abilities and the bijū, they didn't bother him. Moreover, it would be years before Gaara and the bijū could safely separate.

At the end of the journey, they found Tsunade in a large city, gambling in a casino. She agreed to speak with them as long as Jiraiya paid off some of her many gambling debts.

Tsunade was a woman who appeared very attractive, despite being fifty years old, as she used a permanent transformation jutsu on herself and would only look her true age if she ran out of chakra.

Tsunade was of average height, with a sculpted body, soft features, lively eyes, and huge breasts. She had pigtails, but in a hybrid style, located at the back of her head, shoulder-height, and not on the sides. She had a point on her forehead that Naruto knew was a chakra seal, where she stored chakra to use in battle.

Tsunade's true appearance was somewhat strange, and in her memories, she looked like a withered old woman, despite being the same age as Jiraiya. It was odd that her appearance looked so withered, leading to speculation that this was due to some forbidden jutsu that had weakened and aged her body in a tough battle…

"I won't accept!" Tsunade said once Jiraiya explained everything. She sighed due to Orochimaru's death but nothing more.

Jiraiya grimaced. Naruto smiled, and Tsunade looked at him. She had glanced at him before.

"Hello, my name is Naruto Uzumaki, the current head of the Root, and the best medical ninja in the entire ninja world," Naruto introduced himself, extending his hand. "You're the most beautiful woman I've met in this whole ninja world," Naruto praised, and Tsunade, who had tensed when he said he was the head of the Root and then frowned when he declared himself the best medical ninja in the world, smiled upon hearing the last part.

Jiraiya choked on his own saliva and then looked at him angrily.

"Disciple not affiliate! How dare you try to compete with your master?" scolded Jiraiya angrily.

"Sage Pervert, I'm just trying to make things clear from the start, so I'm giving my honest opinion," Naruto said confidently. Jiraiya looked at him with anger.

"Kid, don't play innocent with me. I know you're rotten inside, flirting with other women when you're already engaged, just because you're dazzled by beauty. But this time, your eyes have deceived you because this woman is an older lady, and her appearance is just the product of a jutsu…" Jiraiya couldn't say anything more because Tsunade delivered a right hook to his face, and Jiraiya went flying like a cannonball.

"Lovely," Naruto said without taking his eyes off Tsunade, who made a beautiful rebound.

Naruto smiled sincerely, and Tsunade understood it was a compliment and not lewd words, so she bit her lip and sat somewhat embarrassed.

"Tsunade-sama, don't be fooled, this boy is the head of the Root," Shizune whispered to her, a woman of average appearance, holding a small pig in her arms. She had crouched and whispered to Tsunade, but Naruto had good senses and heard everything. Tsunade remembered Naruto's work and became serious again.

"I thought Danzo was the head of the Root," Tsunade said suspiciously, looking him up and down. "Besides, you seem a bit young," she added. Naruto nodded.

"I am the current jinchuriki," Naruto said in a low whisper because they were in a restaurant, and there were people around. "Moreover, Danzo is currently accused of being an accomplice to Orochimaru; he won't see the light of day for a long time," he added in a normal tone. Tsunade and Shizune tensed.

"Princess Tsunade, I suppose the reason you don't accept being Hokage is due to your past trauma…" Tsunade pounded the table, smashing it to pieces. Naruto withdrew his hands and continued speaking. "I am the best doctor in this ninja world; I can cure your hemophobia in the blink of an eye, you just have to let me try," Naruto explained calmly. Tsunade and Shizune looked at him cautiously.

"Tsunade-sama is the best medical ninja, and we don't need any help," Shizune said.

"That was in the past; now, I am the best medical ninja," Naruto declared. Tsunade squinted at him.

The people around them and the establishment staff dared not interfere or say anything due to the damage caused in the place. After witnessing Jiraiya being sent flying with a single punch, they understood that their group was not ordinary people.

After observing Naruto for half a minute without saying anything, Tsunade snorted and got up to head towards the exit.

"You can give it a try," Tsunade said contemptuously, but that was an admission of guilt.

Naruto stood up, left money to cover the damages and compensation for the inconvenience, and followed the two women.

An hour later, they were in an inn, with Jiraiya lying on a couch, recovering from the blow. Tsunade and Naruto were sitting on a rug in the middle of the room, while Shizune watched by their side to ensure that Naruto didn't do anything inappropriate during the treatment.

"What do you intend?" Tsunade asked.

"I will use a genjutsu to cure your hemophobia," Naruto said without going into further details. Tsunade chuckled.

"We've tried that before," Shizune huffed.

"If my treatment doesn't work, we'll leave without saying more," Naruto said. Tsunade glanced at Jiraiya, who pretended to be asleep but didn't say anything, silently agreeing.

"Well, if you're so confident in yourself, I'd like to see it," Tsunade said. Naruto nodded and raised his hand to touch her forehead with the tip of his fingers.

The basis of the genjutsu was chakra control to manipulate the reality perceived by the opponent's brain. Therefore, it was logical that chakra control would be easier to achieve with direct physical contact.

However, with direct contact, it would also be easier for the opponent to break the genjutsu, so this had to be done in collaboration with Tsunade, at least initially. Once she allowed him to control her chakra, it would be in Naruto's hands.

"Please relax," Naruto said. Tsunade instantly relaxed her body. She had superior control over her body and chakra compared to Sakura.

Naruto wasted no time and used his chakra to control Tsunade's.

After a few seconds, they found themselves in a space surrounded by darkness.

"You have some talent," Tsunade said.

"Not at all, this is knowledge, power, and a lot of practice," Naruto explained.

"A lot of practice?" Tsunade asked, and suddenly, they appeared in her training ground, where she saw her two thousand clones and Naruto training. She widened her eyes in shock, but it wasn't because of the clones.

"No!" Tsunade shrieked and rushed to try to regain control of her chakra to break free from the genjutsu, realizing the type of genjutsu he had used.

The scene changed, and the training ground disappeared, showing a dark space that expanded to reveal the Kyubi behind him. Naruto smiled at Tsunade's shock.

"He's a jinchuriki, there's no way he can control my chakra unless I allow it, did you think that?" Naruto asked curiously. Kurama behind him showed all its teeth.

"A Senju, and I can smell that bastard Hashirama's blood," Kurama said with a wicked grin. Tsunade looked at him in shock.

"You're under the control of the Kyubi!" Tsunade said alarmed. Naruto rolled his eyes.

"Kurama and I have a deal. It was thanks to him that I captured Danzo and got rid of Orochimaru," Naruto said, and his memories of that appeared. Thus, Tsunade understood the mistake she had made in giving him control of her chakra and her mind.

"Alright, show me the reason for your fear," Naruto said, and Tsunade looked at him horrified. However, her mind responded without a hitch, immediately taking him to a forest where a ninja with long, light-colored hair lay covered in blood on the ground. Beside him, there was a boy of about twelve or thirteen years old.

Those two were Dan, once Tsunade's lover, and Nawaki, her younger brother.

Tsunade screamed. The two scenes appeared the same, but there was a separation of time and place between them.

"No, please!" Tsunade cried out. Naruto sighed.

"In this place, there's only pain, and it's not the reason for your fear," Naruto said, returning to the dark space. Tsunade, who was already trembling, huddled, looked at him in incomprehension.

"What you saw earlier is undoubtedly the origin of your fear, but I already know that cause. I want you to see the true reason behind it so you can overcome it. Think, tell me, what is the reason?..." Tsunade's traumatized mind tried to return her to the deaths of her brother and her boyfriend, but Naruto dispelled them with a wave of his hand.

Naruto frowned; she couldn't see beyond those deaths. But that wasn't a problem because Naruto already knew the true reason behind Tsunade's trauma, which was also its cure. He stopped trying to let her make progress on her own and immediately searched for the most important memories she had of her brother and boyfriend.

Tsunade's trauma was easy for Naruto to resolve because he knew the cause and how he had overcome it.

After an hour of watching memories of her brother and boyfriend, remembering what they wanted for their village and their feelings about it, she forgot her fear and dispelled her memories on her own.

"How do you know how to do this type of genjutsu?" Tsunade asked when they returned to the empty space.

Naruto revealed his memories without trying to hide them. They reached the point where he captured Danzo and forced his mind using Kurama to gain control of the Anbu's seal. He then showed how the Anbu had taught him the mental reading genjutsu and how to bypass protections, in which they were experts.

The memories didn't stop and showed his laboratory being set up and his prisoners being constantly interrogated by five of his clones. The captured prisoners were also shown there, except Orochimaru. Tsunade looked concerned.

"You have a high opinion of yourself. If I didn't want to show you these memories, you wouldn't be able to see them. I'm the head of the Root, and my mind is already a fortress of seals. The reason I'm showing you all these top-secret matters is that you'll soon be Hokage and you're the only authorized person to know about my work," Naruto explained. Tsunade grimaced but didn't retract her word.

"Do you plan to experiment on these people?" Tsunade asked, observing the captured prisoners, most of whom suffered some form of deformity due to Orochimaru's experiments.

"I can't release these people without undoing what Orochimaru has done to them because that would only bring more problems to our village. Besides, half of them are wanted criminals, and if they were released from the laboratory, they would be executed or imprisoned. However, my research methods won't harm them, and their lives won't be in danger," Naruto explained. Tsunade sighed.

"How have you managed to control Kurama?" Tsunade asked, and Kurama appeared behind Naruto.

"I haven't managed to control Kurama. Kurama and I share the same goal: freedom and survival," Naruto said.

"Who threatens your lives?" Tsunade asked curiously, and this time, a door sealed from all sides appeared.

"Before I allow you to look there, you should know that ignorance is a blessing, and there's not much you can do against this future enemy," Naruto explained. Tsunade tensed and, before replying, looked at Kurama, who regarded her with disdain.

"There isn't much she can do? There's nothing she can do!" Kurama declared with disdain. Tsunade looked at him indignantly and, more out of pride than willingness, nodded to show her determination.

The memory seal was unlocked, and Tsunade was revealed all the information about the origin of the ninja world, Kaguya, and the Otsutsuki, as well as the involvement of Akatsuki and Madara in all of this. Finally, the arrival of the other Otsutsuki in approximately two decades was mentioned.

After half an hour, the seal closed again, and Tsunade looked stunned at Naruto.

"We're screwed!" Tsunade declared. Kurama snorted in agreement.

"Nonsense, by the time they arrive here, my power will be far superior to theirs," Naruto said.

"You think highly of yourself. Even though you're Asura's reincarnation, you don't stand a chance," Kurama said.

"Asura's power isn't the only thing I'll use, or at least, it's not my only plan," Naruto, who knew more about the future than they did and had a plan to face the Otsutsuki when they appeared, said. Tsunade furrowed her brow.

"What are your plans? Will you train Sasuke Uchiha to help you?" Tsunade asked. Naruto shook his head.

"The Sharingan and its evolution, the Rinnegan, are useful but not much. Besides, the Uchiha are disturbed by that power. If I can't stabilize it, it's best to leave the Emo Avenger aside. It's also not a good idea to reveal the truth to him now. I recommend doing it only when I've finished my research on the Sharingan and manage to separate it from his brain," Naruto explained.

"You recommend?" Tsunade asked.

"Of course. I'm the head of the Root, and resolving this matter is my job, but making decisions is your responsibility. The same goes for revealing the truth to Sasuke about his past and his brother. I won't take your prerogatives," Naruto apologized.

Tsunade understood that, because of this, she would be the one to earn the enmity of the Emo Avenger, and she tried to strike him, but Naruto released the genjutsu and disappeared from the room in a flash. Tsunade could only watch as he vanished before her.

The next day, Naruto gave Jiraiya the final treatment, who grumbled with resentment because Tsunade had used him as a punching bag once he had left, leaving him as swollen as a beaten pig.

"Sage Pervert, if you had accepted the Hokage position, this wouldn't have happened, so it's your duty to take responsibility," Naruto explained calmly. He had only returned when Tsunade's anger and frustration had dissipated.

Jiraiya grumbled, and by mid-morning, they began their journey back to the village.

The group took three weeks to return to the village at a leisurely pace. Naruto didn't stop training, and now he also had Tsunade's guidance in chakra control and medical jutsu.

Tsunade was interested in the jutsu that imitated Kurama's chakra and learned it at a surprising speed when Naruto explained that ninja with no connection to Kurama could also learn the nature of his chakra.

The laboratory in the Root headquarters was completed a week before their arrival. However, his clones had been studying Orochimaru's work for over a month and had already understood everything he did.

Orochimaru was a genius in cell manipulation, and his research would be very useful for cell cultivation and even cloning, but Orochimaru had no intention of going further, as that was the limit of his knowledge and area of expertise.

Naruto's goal was different. He intended to rewrite a body from its base, which was DNA, and that knowledge didn't exist in the world. However, that wasn't a problem for him because he didn't Intend to rewrite DNA using technology; he would do it using chakra.

According to Naruto's memories, the Otsutsuki were able to do this using the Karma Seal, which rewrote an individual's DNA to the point of allowing them to resurrect the Otsutsuki by creating a perfect copy. That was the ultimate goal of their research.

Of course, the Otsutsuki were not scientists and didn't care about science. They only sought power, and even though they had a tool that literally granted them maximum power in any world, they only used it as a means of survival. It was an incredibly powerful and largely unknown ability, much like the Shadow Clone jutsu.

Naruto wasn't going to ignore the existence of this ability and would create one just like it. He had the necessary knowledge, understood what DNA was, and even knew of scientists' attempts in his former world to modify it using retroviruses.

With all this knowledge and his current mastery of medical jutsu, chakra control, and other aspects, the only thing he needed to advance further was chakra control, which he was about to achieve thanks to Tsunade's teachings and the laboratory artifacts that allowed him to enhance it.

A week before his group arrived in Konoha, Naruto's clones had already begun researching DNA, searching for retroviruses, and studying Orochimaru's guard twins, who were the main basis for bodily modification. Orochimaru's body-switching jutsu was already in his hands, so once he finished the research and created a new body, he could switch his current body for one that carried all his genetic research on Kekkei Genkai.
