Upon hearing Uchiha Gin's confirmation, Uzumaki Mito felt a warmth in her heart. As expected, the "human trafficker" she once knew was still the same person she had always thought him to be.
"What's this?"
Before she could speak, she felt something hard pressing against her waist. Her heart skipped a beat, and a blush crept across her delicate face, making her body unconsciously fidget.
"Huh? Are you okay?"
Uchiha Gin slipped something behind her waist and was about to explain when he noticed the girl in his arms. Her temperature was rising, and her warm body rubbed against him, causing an unintended but instinctive reaction.
"What? Gin-san has two?"
The girl, dazed by her thoughts, suddenly snapped out of it. Didn't they say men only have one?
Could it be that Gin-san was so gifted that he was born with more than others?
"Stop moving around. Don't lose the gift I gave you."
As the girl fell deeper into confusion, Uchiha Gin, afraid of escalating things further, steadied her and firmly said, "What is this?"
The girl, still puzzled, finally noticed a pendant hanging from her waist. It was a silver pendant with a red and green gemstone, which, despite its appearance, felt warm to the touch.
"This pendant is for you. Congratulations in advance on becoming the leader of the Uzumaki clan."
Uchiha Gin subtly adjusted his stance and smiled.
"Thank you, Human Trafficker! I'll cherish it!"
The girl hung the pendant around her neck, feeling the warmth radiating from it, revitalizing her from the fatigue of the previous battle.
[Salvation]: Increases chakra by 15%, restores 1.5 health points per day, and upon activation, can heal 15% of a teammate's lost health and reduce incoming damage by 18%.
Even a simple girl could tell that the pendant Uchiha Gin gave her was no ordinary item. Her heart filled with joy, and she couldn't suppress her smile.
"This pendant has healing powers. It could save you and your teammates in a critical moment," Uchiha Gin explained, recalling the effects of the "Salvation" necklace.
"Mhm..."
The girl closed her eyes and nodded softly. In her mind, becoming the leader was just an excuse. This pendant was clearly a love token, a reminder not to forget him once she became the leader.
Hmph! Once I become the leader, I'll propose an alliance with the Uchiha clan and demand that he be given to me. Let's see who dares to stop me!
While fondling the pendant, the girl began to daydream.
"That's enough. You can release that stupid woman now. We need to return," Senju Tobirama's cold voice suddenly broke her fantasy, making her grind her teeth in frustration.
Annoying white-haired brat! I'll deal with you later!
"You're really letting me go?" Uchiha Gin raised an eyebrow, ready for any tricks.
"The Senju clan always keeps its word. If we say we'll kill, we kill. If we say we'll release, we release."
Tobirama's face showed no deception. But given his hatred for the Uchiha, had he lost his mind today?
"Well, if you're sure."
Uchiha Gin released the girl and took a few steps back, his eyes warily fixed on the nearby Senju clan members.
"Hmph! I haven't even asked your name," Tobirama suddenly said.
Wait, what? Is this really Tobirama, asking an Uchiha his name?
"My name is Uchiha Gin," he replied, a bit puzzled but not hiding anything.
"Next time we meet, you won't be so lucky."
Tobirama etched the name into his mind, planning to research this peculiar Uchiha.
"Heh, I was going to say the same thing."
With a smirk, Uchiha Gin waved goodbye to the reluctant Uzumaki Mito.
The girl opened her mouth as if to speak, but no words came out. Yet, her lips clearly mouthed, "Human Trafficker, will we meet again?"
"Definitely!"
Seeing this familiar gesture, Uchiha Gin smiled confidently and nodded.
"Farewell, everyone! The world is round; we'll meet again!" With those parting words, Uchiha Gin vanished into the dark forest.
"Young Master, we can still catch him!" one of the Senju clan members behind Tobirama suggested, unwilling to let the Uchiha escape so easily.
"The Hagaromo clan is no more in the Land of Fire. Our mission is complete," Tobirama replied calmly, ignoring the suggestion. Turning to his clan members, he added, "Also, from now on, don't call me 'Young Master.' Address me as the Second-in-Command."
Indeed, as his brother had promised, once the Hagaromo clan was dealt with, he would become the Senju clan's leader, thus elevating Tobirama to the Second-in-Command.
"Yes, Second-in-Command!"
The Senju warriors collectively shouted, their voices echoing through the forest.
"Uzumaki, you got lucky this time," Tobirama sneered at Mito, who was still staring in the direction Uchiha Gin had disappeared.
"There won't be a next time."
Ignoring his provocation, Mito tightened her grip on the pendant, her dark eyes burning with determination. Next time, she would be the leader of the Uzumaki clan, and no one could stop her from being with him.
"Let's go home!"
With a command from Tobirama, the Senju clan turned and headed toward their territory, where Senju Hashirama was about to announce his leadership.
"Why are you so slow?"
Not far ahead, Uchiha Gin noticed his comrades waiting in the shadows.
"Just in case that white-haired brat from the Senju clan had a trap set for you," Uchiha Hikari said, her eyes scanning him, as if looking for someone.
"And where's that troublesome girl?"
Not seeing Uzumaki Mito, Hikari asked, still on edge.
"Her? I had to let her go. You think the white-haired brat would spare me otherwise?" Gin said, rolling his eyes.
"Enough chit-chat, let's catch up with the others. We're almost at the border."
The group quickened their pace and soon caught up with the main force. When they arrived, they saw Hagaromo Shintaro talking to a group of unfamiliar people. Seeing Uchiha Gin, Shintaro waved them over.
"Mr. Gin, over here!"
"Damn, man! What's up!" Uchiha Gin called out, raising a fist in greeting.
The group of dark-skinned warriors stared at him in confusion.
"Looks like there's still a cultural gap," Uchiha Gin sighed, feeling like a misunderstood rapper.
He turned his attention back to the scenery.
After finishing their conversation, Shintaro introduced the group to Gin.
"These are the ninja from the Yagami clan of the Land of Lightning, here to escort us," he said.
So their mission was over?
"We're not done until we're in the Land of Lightning?" Gin asked, confused. They were only at the border between the Land of Fire and the Land of Iron.
"Thank you for your help, Mr. Gin. Your mission is complete, and you'll receive your reward from Kinkaku and Ginkaku," Shintaro explained.
Gin approached Kinkaku and greeted him.
"Mr. Gin, thank you for everything. From here, the Hagaromo clan must walk its own path."
Kinkaku, usually simple-minded, showed rare seriousness.
"I understand~"
Gin cut him off, realizing that Kinkaku was worried about them staying in the Land of Lightning, where they might be ensnared.
After all, once in the Land of Lightning, they could easily be turned into "tools" to produce heirs, forced into a fate of endless breeding.
When Uchiha Gin thought of that inhuman treatment, tears flowed from the corners of his mouth.
Tsk! It's really unpleasant. There is no human rights at all.
