263 The Red Coast
Yami jumped back at a distance and looked at the sword. This was the first real wound Yami had gotten since he came here. Up until now no one in the hidden mist was successful in making Yami bleed one drop and Hari had managed to stab a short sword right in his chest.
Seeing him behave like this Hari chuckled and said "Heh…you aren't as invincible as you thought you were. Don't worry, this is just the start and I will cut you down piece by piece." Hari's voice started to show anger as he completed that sentence. No one had ever pushed Hari this far…all these years Hari and his squad managed to stay the blood squad…the squad that was feared by everyone…the bloodline faction as well as the Mizukage faction and now a stranger had popped up on his turf and cut down half of the squad.
Yami pulled out the short sword and threw it at Hari. Hari easily dodged the shortsword by swerving sideways but when he looked ahead, Yami was nowhere to be found. He looked around but couldn't find him anywhere. From the start, Hari wasn't able to sense Yami but Yami had faced most of his attacks head on so he didn't need to worry about that. This is the first time Yami had hidden himself.
'I can't let him escape…or else there would be no use of this ambush. I have already lost enough that except this demon's head, Moji won't accept anything.' Hari thought. He was about to taunt Yami into coming at him but then he sensed an attack coming from behind.
"That's so predictable of you kid." Hari shouted and turned back swinging his sword at the incoming attack. His sword met Yami's sword…they clashed but Yami wasn't there holding the sword. Hari understood that Yami had used his sword as a decoy but what would he achieve by throwing away his main weapon? Before Hari could realize it, he felt two palms on his back and heard Yami's voice "You made me use my trump card."
Hari realized that if Yami is claiming it to be his trump card then the technique definitely must be something dangerous. He was about to turn around and swat Yami away but he felt incredible heat coming from Yami's hand. The next thing he knew, he saw 2 dark red tentacles coming out of his stomach.
"W-What is t-this?" Hari asked as he coughed out blood. He couldn't believe that Yami just made a 30cm diameter hole in his body just by touching him. Hari wanted to know what had killed him and what the kid's trump card was but he fell down on the ground. Yami looked at the fallen body and then at the scorch-release tentacles that he had released from his hand. This is the first time he had used it in front of an enemy. He himself wasn't sure how much control he would have over it so he didn't activate his devouring eye. He knew that the tentacles would turn black and their power would increase but he felt it would be overkill for someone like Hari.
Yami sighed in relief after seeing that everyone around him was dead. The coast was now clear and there were many craters in it. The sand by the coast had turned red due to the blood if the blood squad.
Yami took back the tentacles and calmed himself down. This was the toughest fight he had since he came to this world.
'I may be strong but I can't with this mere strength in the 4th great ninja war. I won't stand a chance against a tailed beast and definitely not against someone like Kaguya. I need more strength and besides exploring the devouring law I don't see any other way. I should also visit my summon's cave and see if Sage jutsu is an option for me.' Yami thought. He knew that a lot of time passed and it was almost time for the spies, leaf shinobis, and bloodline clan members to come to the meeting area.
Yami then body flickered away from the place and in a few seconds appeared in front of the cave where he had left Eiji. He used his enhanced senses just to be sure but he didn't find anything suspicious. He went inside the cave and saw Eiji still lying in the same corner while Yami's bat was hanging from the ceiling.
Yami then went ahead and picked up Eiji. Seeing his captor return back Eiji was confused. He saw that Yami had a wound on his chest and a few tattered clothes which means he had a fight. He quickly came to a conclusion and said "So you managed to escape from them, huh? "
Yami didn't answer his question straightaway and asked "Why do you assume that I ran away?"
"What? You expect me to believe you killed them all and came back?" Eiji asked smirkingly to which Yami just shrugged. Seeing Yami behave so casually, Eiji understood that no one was chasing him. Which meant that maybe he did kill them all. Fear suddenly set in Eiji's mind. He already feared Yami to some extent but now it had multiplied severalfold. He subconsciously stepped back as it thought of such a ridiculous thing "Y-You are lying…T-This can't be true..T-they are too s-strong."
Yami picked Eiji up by the collar and said "Yes they were strong…but I was stronger."
Seeing that Eiji was still finding the whole thing hard to believe, Yami patted his shoulder and said "Don't worry I am taking you to see the battlefield. What are you going to do cooped up in there anyways?"
Yami collected the corpse of the blood squad member stationed to keep an eye on Eiji. He then put the grown man on his shoulder and ran toward the meeting place. He had made the entire plan just to flush out the rat but he didn't know such an important part of the Mizukage faction's strength would be coming to chase him down. This was a good thing as Yami had lowered the risk of the bloodline clan's defeat but now this would make Moji take a step back and postpone the conflict. That's something Yami never wanted to happen as it would drag things out and give Jiro and his cult more time to prepare the demon hearts.
As Yami reached the meeting point with Eiji, he first tied Eiji's hands with a rope and hung him from a big tree.
Eiji looked around and saw the littered corpses of the blood squad members and "Y-You really did i-it…y-you killed them a-all. No one would have imagined that the genjutsu demon was a kid and he was this strong…and lastly that he was a leaf shinobi." Even though it was night, the moonlight was more than enough to see the red coast.
"W-What are you doing?" Eiji asked as he didn't know what Yami was planning. He was sure that he wasn't going to be killed so soon or else Yami wouldn't have gone through so much trouble to incapacitate him.
"I have already done more than enough of my share tonight. I leave you to the others. Don't worry I will make sure to spread the word to the Mizukage faction that you double-crossed Hari for more money..if you choose to run away anywhere now. I don't want me or any of our people to go through the trouble of finding you again." Yami said and started piling up the corpses of the blood squad member together. Eiji knew that Yami wasn't trying to cover up the scene of the crime as the blood had already died the place red and Yami wasn't touching their weapons…only their bodies.
Yami then stored all those bodies in his storage scroll. This time his haul was really big because each blood squad member was of elite jonin tier and Hari was quasi-Kage tier. Devouring them all will definitely make a difference this time and Yami was sure of that. His fight with Hari had taught him that he isn't strong enough to deal with everything alone and Yami was never a team player…so the only option is to become strong himself.
After storing all the 15 corpses, Yami looked at the mountain and used his enhanced senses. He could sense multiple signatures on the other side of the mountain with a group stationary and many individuals which Yami was sure were the other spies were all gathering at the foot of the mountain.
"The ones who will take care of you from now on will reach within 15 mins so have patience Eiji…and we will meet again." Yami said smiling as he waved his hand at Eiji.
"I never want to meet you again…you demon…I rather die than see your face." Eiji said in anger…he also fainted while shouting. Yami made sure that he wasn't going to die soon and then he left the coast.
"Kakashi I hope you understand the meaning of what I have laid here." Yami said as he looked back once more at the red coast.
