Change in Mood

"What? Eiji is down there?" Shiro asked as he heard Kakashi's words.

"Kakashi...we need to go down there asap if Eiji is injured." Kurenai said to which Kakashi nodded and said "I don't see much from here but he seems to be tied to a tall tree...Let's go and we may find out what happened here." Kakashi said and started running to the meeting point. The others including Shiro and his group also followed Kakashi to the coast.

The smell of blood continued to become thicker as they reached at the foot of the mountain. As they reached the coast, they all suddenly stopped walking. They looked in front of them and saw a battlefield dyed in red.

"What the hell just happened here?" Enko asked. He had never seen something like this. At sea even though the people were many, most had fallen in the water and the thick mist obstructed most of his view but here it was clear to him what had happened.

"If such a brutal battle occurred here then why isn't there any corpse and why is that leaf spy tied to the tree?" Mei asked and looked at Shiro...to which Shiro waved his hands in a hurry and said "Lady Mei...we don't know anything. We haven't been in contact with each other that much. We all only contact captain Hideki."

"Let's go and see Eiji's condition...he might be able to shed some light on the situation." Kurenai said and ran toward Eiji followed by the group.

"Enko go and look around to see if there is any corpse around. I will take a look at the fallen weapons." Elder Wu said as he looked at the Red coast.

"Do you have an assumption as to what happened here, Elder Wu?" Asami asked. She knew Elder Wu was in charge of intelligence before he decided to take the Terumi siblings to the land of forests and take care of them.

"Not yet Lady Asami but I think I might know who these weapons belong to...but I need to inspect them to know for sure."

"I will have my guards collect all the weapons then so that you can inspect them." Riko said.

"NO wait..." Kakashi who didn't go with the others to Eiji said.

"The weapons might not be placed randomly but may have a symbolic meaning or a message in it so don't move anything until we have investigated properly"

Riko thought was Kakashi just said and he agreed with it." I think you are right"

By this time, Elder Wu had already gone to inspect the weapons, and Shiro and his group had taken down Eiji from the tree. They freed him and took off his shirt so that they could check his condition and treat his wounds. Santo went to help out Enko in finding any corpses.

Asuma and Kurenai also left treating Eiji to Hideki and his group of spies. "He isn't dead just unconscious...he does have plenty of wounds on his body." Asuma said.

"That explains the bleeding and nothing life-threatening means that whoever did this to him wanted him to be alive...Maybe he was tortured for information." Kurenai said. She knew that this is how spies were treated. Their captors would torture them until they have all the information they wanted.

"Maybe that's how the genjutsu demon found out about the identities of the other spies." Kana quickly said. She immediately realized her mistake and was about to apologize but Mei intervened and said "Now that makes sense...but why would the genjutsu demon do something like this and make the hidden leaf his enemy?"

"Things really are very complicated as the old man said. No wonder he wanted us to come here and attend the meeting in person. Personally, I don't think the genjutsu demon has anything to do with hurting the Konoha spy." Asami said.

Riko was about to say something but he saw Shiro run toward the group. Kakashi and the others also saw this and turned toward him. "We have finished an analysis of his wounds and his current condition."

"Are the wounds consistent with torture used for extracting information?" Asuma asked. He and the others thought the worst that Eiji might have been tortured by the Mizukage faction for information.

Shiro shook his head and said "No...all his wounds are fresh as if done within the last 2 hours and each wound specifically targets his joints and tendons. There is not one wound that is unnecessary. Each cut has severed or teared some of his muscle so that he could lose control of his own body."

While others were confused as to who could do that and why, Kakashi asked in a stern voice. "Are you sure what you are saying? And have you checked his chakra points yet? They are destroyed, aren't they?"

Listening to the easy going Kakashi speak this way, everyone was alarmed especially the clan leaders as he seemed confident. They all looked at Shiro for answers.

Shiro himself seemed shocked and said hesitantly "H-How did you know that Kakashi? Yes his chakra points have been destroyed but how did you guess that?"

All eyes turned to Kakashi as they wanted to know how...the suspense was getting to them now. Kakashi looked around the battle field and the weapons spread out all over and said " Shiro...look around this area where there are weapons and plot them all on a piece of paper. Try to be as precise as possible and take as much time as you like but do this on priority."

"Got it Kakashi...but what about Eiji...we were thinking of admitting him to the mist hospital in the bloodline clan's region. He won't be able to use chakra now but if treated in time then he might be able to move like a normal person." Shiro said. Everyone around him including Asami and Riko agreed with this but they were all shocked when Kakashi said "NO."

"Huh? What you mean by no Kakashi?" Asuma asked. He had rarely seen Kakashi behave so seriously so he had to ask this.

"Shiro just tie some bandages on Eiji's wounds and take him to the Terumi clan estate. Dump him in one of the prison cells there. I will interogate him when he wakes up. No need to do so much for someone like him. Focus on ploting the location of weapons."

"But Kakashi..." Shiro said and Kakashi immediately stopped him from speaking further. "This is a direct order Shiro and I want you to follow it to each and every word. Everyone I think it is safe to say that the meeting arranged today has been canceled. I think we should leave." Kakashi said and turned around walked back into the jungle.

"Now...what the hell just happened here?" Riko asked in a confused face to which Asami and Mei both shrugged. They all looked at Asuma as he was the one incharge.

"Kakashi is many things but unreasonable isn't one of them. He must have a pretty good reason to take such a decision. I understand what you are thinking Shiro but I'd suggest you follow the given order for now." Asuma said. Shiro was hesitant at first but then he agreed and went back to his group.

"We should have a meeting as soon as we reach the Terumi estate." Asami said as she leaned toward Riko.

"Hm...I can see that his own people are shocked at his decision. He definitaly know something and one of us must be there went he interogates the spy Eiji or we will always remain in the dark." Riko whispered.

"Elder Wu, we are going back as we don't think the meet is going to happen anymore." Mei shouted at Elder Wu who was inspecting a weapon at some distance.

Elder Wu didn't know what happened inside the group so he was pretty much confused why the clan leaders and Leaf jonins were leaving. "Lady Mei you can leave with Kana. I will come with Enko and Santo later...I still have some things to figure out."

Mei nodded and the entire group left the coast. They had all come here excited to meet the genjutsu demon but now they had all gone back confused with much more questions than they had come here with.

Back at the Mizukage building, Moji was still waiting in his room drinking sake alone. He was waiting for Hari to bring him the good news and also the genjutsu demon's head along with it. As time passed he was getting restless and at first he who was sitting on his sofa drinking it leasurely from a shot glass, was now pacing inside the office chugging a bottle of sake straight from the bottle.

'Where the hell are you Hari ? and why is it taking so much time to bring me that Bastard's head?' Moji thought as he was pacing his office restlessly.
