Hiruzen Sarutobi just heard about Jin Takashi's performance report from Might Guy and was thinking hard.
He already has done all the background checks on Jin when he first thought about letting Jin join Team 9.
There is nothing wrong with Jin's background. He was born just a few months before the nine-tail attack and is a hard-working boy.
"Guy I want you to train Jin well and if possible I also want him to join the chunin exams this year," said Hiruzen.
"Hai Hokage Sama," said Guy and left.
And days went on like that.
Being the older team than most of the Konoha 12. Team 9 can easily take a C-rank mission.
The first mission was about delivering a scroll to the border of the land of fire.
The second mission was about helping a merchant with his lost goods.
The third mission was about helping protect a noble in the capital.
While the last mission was about cleaning up a bandit camp.
Very quickly time passed and Jin was called by Hokage.
Hiruzen wanted to send Jin who already has proven himself as talented as any elite-class student to get along with other teams as well and a really good opportunity just come to him.
Team 7 currently took a C-rank mission to escort a bridge builder to the land of waves and Hiruzen wanted Jin to Accompany them.
"Hokage sama you call for me" Jin who already came asked Hiruzen.
"Ah, Jin Kun yes. You are doing really good work, my boy. Guy told me that you are already strong enough that he can recommend you for the chunin exams.
"What you say would you like to join the upcoming chunin exam" said Hiruzen with a smile.
"Yes, I would love to participate in the Chunin exams Hokage sama." Jin too play this part and acted like a good boy.
"Good good then how about this you do a joint mission with team 7. It's a C-rank mission again. If you do well then I will give you more C rank mission and if I think that you are ready then I will let you attend the chunin exams."
Jin was surprised by this. According to the time and the mention of the C rank mission, Jin knew that it was the wave mission.
Originally he wanted to join this mission but he had no other way now the opportunity come to him.
"Hai Hokage sama I will join them," said Jin in an enthusiastic tone.
Hiruzen smiled and told Jin to meet with team 7 in under an hour near Konoha gate and give him his participation scroll which he gave Jin.
Jin quickly rushes out and packs his bag so he can join Team 7.
At Konoha gate, team 7 already arrived and was about to leave when Jin arrived.
"Kakashi sensei, please read this before leaving" shouted Jin before Kakashi left.
Kakashi then first observe Jin. when he took the scroll.
"Seems like we are going to have one more member with us," Kakashi said.
He brings his team and explains the situation to them.
"Let's start with an introduction everyone," said Kakashi.
"Me me me first," Naruto said jumping.
Kakashi sigh.
"I am Naruto Uzumaki. I am going to be Hokage and I like ramen.".
"I am Sakura Haruno. I like Sasuke Kun and I also have a dream for the future" said Sakura looking at Sasuke, especially the last part.
"I am Sasuke Uchiha. I don't have any particular likings" Sasuke said omitting he want to kill his brother part.
Jin smiled and said.
"Nice to meet you all I am Jin Takashi and I am also a newly made Genin. I want to be the strongest Martial artist and I like food a lot".
"Huh, another kid joining. Why can't I get a decent ninja to protect me" said Tazuna and he then open an alcohol bottle and started drinking.
Soon the team started to walk towards the wave.
Along the way, Jin keeps talking to Naruto and Sakura.
Jin told them about how he joined Team 9 some time and how he every day train.
Naruto talks about ramen and his dream and Sakura also listens while Sasuke just keeps walking in silence.
Sometime later the plot set up by the demon brothers also came.
Kakashi and Jin notice it easily while Sasuke although knowing something is wrong could not figure out what it is.
Then It went on just like in the canon and Jin to did not take any action because he did not have to.
Jin was thinking that he is watching the anime but in real life.
Kakashi then confronted Tazuna and he ended up telling the truth.
Just like in Anime, they decided to continue the journey anyways.
Team 7 keep getting closer to the waves but they meet yet another hurdle along the way.
Zabuza Momochi the demon of the mist. Just like canon, he attacks Team 7.
Kakashi took out the Sharingan immediately and fought with Zabuza.
But just like in the Anime Kakashi was captured.
'Finally, a good chance to see how strong I have become' thought Jin.
"Oi, Oi. I don't know what the matter with you pointy teeth shirtless man but you better let Kakashi sensei go or I gonna kick your ass" shouted Jin in an exaggerated manner.
"Don't be stupid Jin. Don't worry about me and take your teammates and run. You guys cannot handle Zabuza" said Kakashi.
According to Kakashi, there is no way a bunch of genin can defeat Zabuza. There might be a chance to free himself if they work together but he does not care about that.
Kakashi Hatake has already lost all of his dear people. He lost his team. His father. And he could not save any of them.
So. there is no way that Kakashi is going to let his genin team die here like this.
"Relax Kakashi sensei. Just sit there and watch the show" said Jin.
Sasuke, Naruto and Sakura who was still stunned by Kakashi's getting trapped and now looking at Jin like he was an idiot.
There is no way a genin like themselves can defeat the demon of the mist which their sensei was not able to beat him
