24 Ch 23 : Sanada Vs. Sakura

( A.N.: Another chapter of Sakura teacher system >_<, but yeah, I want to keep Hibachi and Ami's training a surprise for the Chunin Exam. Anyone could guess how Sanada trained them?)

About a month later, in Konoha training ground for team 6.

Sakura and Sanada were currently doing close combat training, while Hibachi and Ami were watching from the side.

After working with Sanada in the restaurant, their enthusiasm for being a ninja had slowly reduced. And the only reason that they haven't dropped out of being a ninja yet was that they didn't know what to say to Sanada.

Because Sanada never told them his true intention, Hibachi and Ami always thought that Sanada had a high expectation of them being a ninja. And they didn't want to disappoint Sanada about that. Especially after their economic condition got a lot better since they worked in Sanada's restaurant.

Just like Sakura, Hibachi and Ami had now turned into full-fledged Sanada's little fans, and they never complain about Sanada being impartial to Sakura anymore.

Now back to the spar between Sakura and Sanada, Sakura tried to take the initiative by running towards Sanada.

" Good one, but if the discrepancy between you and your enemy is too big, this would only be a stupid tactic." Said Sanada as he easily avoided Sakura's punch by tilting his head.

The two flashed back and forth as they traded punches and kicks a few times. Sakura was able to avoid some of Sanada's punches and tried to counterattack, but it was all easily deflected by Sanada.

Sanada caught Sakura's hand and was about to give her a kick in the belly, but at this time, Sakura's body suddenly turned into a piece of wood.

' Kawarimi no jutsu (Substitution Jutsu)!'

BANG!!!

Sanada's kick hit the wood. And at this moment, the real Sakura appeared right behind Sanada, assuming the basic stance of fish-man karate.

"Karakusagawara Seiken!!!"

Looking at the scene in front of their eyes, Hibachi and Ami have surprised all over their face. Could it be their sensei would be defeated by Sakura today?

Sakura's skill was good, and Sanada must admit it. But to defeat him? Sakura was still 100 years too early.

When the shockwave was launched from Sakura's punch and was about to hit Sanada, a smile appeared on Sanada's face.*Bang* Sanada's body turned into a white mist before eventually turning into a piece of wood.

Sanada reappeared a few meters in front of Sakura, with the same smile like all the battles before had never happened.

Sakura looked a bit frustrated, but she didn't have the intention to give up.

Sakura had been sparring with Sanada almost every day, and she had been observing Sanada along the way. From her observation, she could see that this Sanada standing in front of her should just be bait, and the real Sanada must be hiding somewhere else, trying to catch her off guard.

Sakura quickly discovered where Sanada's real body was hiding. He was hiding in the bush on the left side of the training ground.

Of course, this didn't mean Sakura's reconnaissance ability was good. Sanada deliberately let the water since it was just a friendly spar.

Kunai and shuriken made a sound of breaking through the air as Sakura launched them at Sanada.

Sakura was ready to rush at the moment Sanada parried the kunais, but then, something completely unexpected to her happened.

After the kunais were thrown, Sakura saw the kunai and shuriken flying toward Sanada, but Sanada was too late to escape and got hit.

Sakura's face flashed a trace of horror as she thought she had dealt such a fatal injury to her sensei. But immediately afterward, there was a "bang" sound once again and that "Sanada" figure disappeared.

Sakura was too late to realize that it was just a clone, and the real Sanada was actually the one that was standing in front of her with a dangerless smile all along.

The real Sanada flashed and appeared right next to Sakura, utilizing the gap that was created by the clone and successfully placing his hand on Sakura's neck.

" You lose Sakura." Said Sanada as he released his grip from Sakura's neck and proceeded to pat Sakura's head.

Sakura felt a bit lost when she heard Sanada's words. But when she felt the big hand was placed on her head, she quickly recovered as she enjoyed Sanada's touch on her head.

It has been their routine which Sanada always played with Sakura's head after they sparred, and Sakura always enjoyed this moment.

Sanada then began to tell Sakura about all the mistakes she had in the last battle. From how she became wavered after she throw the kunai, the overconfidence of the Sanada in front of her being a clone, and how she didn't have any backup plan for all of that. Nevertheless, Sanada didn't forget to praise Sakura. The Sakura right now actually has the strength of a Chunin, and Sanada was proud of that.

After using the Basic Physique power-up card, Sakura's physique has been enhanced to a whole another level, and it could be said that her speed was now only one level below Lee, who hasn't taken out his weight yet.

With the help of some fish-man karate technique and the Lapras summoning scroll that Sanada has prepared for Sakura, it could be said that the Chunin exam was as good as in the bag.

Sanada was still discussing with Sakura about her weakness in battle and what to do about it. But at this time, a few masked figures suddenly appeared on the training ground.

" Kaedehara Sanada, The third Hokage is calling. Please don't be late this time."

After saying those words, the masked figure disappeared again. But Sanada was left with excitement on his face.

' Is it finally the time? Chunin exam here we come.'
