Chapter 29: Actions

~Sanctum Sanctorum~

Inside of one of the rooms in the Sanctuary of Sorcerers, Catherine floated in a meditative position with the Time Stone glowing around her neck.

While her physical body was doing that, her astral form sat at her desk writing another tomb using her vast knowledge, hoping to have another text to add to her library.

Quite a large amount of time had passed since she aided in the defeat of the Ten-Tails, and the Shinobi World had gone through quite a substantial change in that time.

Hagoromo had begun his journey of spreading Ninshu throughout the world, becoming a symbol of their entire world.

She had observed the man for years, with her even choosing to invite him to their Illuminati, an option he declined at the time but wished to consider joining at a later point.

The Sanctum had developed into a thriving community of its own, with many civilians viewing it as a mythical place that one does not find, but merely stumbles upon.

The legend of it had spread far in the world, but, even if many countries wished to find the place and use its power for their own benefit, any search parties proved to be useless.

Catherine had digested a vast majority of Agamotto's knowledge, after which she recorded it into tomes, letting them be held in the library to allow the knowledge to spread to her subordinates.

She had chosen this approach, since the ingenuity of the new generations allowed them to manipulate the fundamentals of the spells recorded, creating new spells to add to the library even further.

And if Catherine let her plan continue over centuries, she would eventually gain magical might that may even exceed the power of Agamotto.

But, for the time being, she was busy engaging in her side projects that could prove useful in the future.

The first was her attempt to evolve certain creatures with mana, allowing them to begin adapting to use it themselves while creating powerful creatures to defend the world.

The beings would be similar to the Tailed Beast, though they would be able to procreate and begin powerful magical races of their own.

Plus, Catherine really wanted to see if she could create herself a pet dragon, as who wouldn't wish to ride one?

However, her attempts were progressing very slowly, as the best she had come up with so far was allowing the creatures the live in highly mana-saturated environments over multiple generations, letting them adapt to it.

The issue was that the creatures would die due to mana poisoning, making only the creatures with the highest level of adaptability able to survive.

The only ones that were still alive were a serpent, a turtle, a wolf, and a lizard.

Catherine could only lament their fate, hoping that they would continue to evolve.

As for the other project Catherine was working on, it was her analysis of Chakra.

Hagoromo's actions had let chakra spread throughout the atmosphere, with it being an energy that seemed less dense than Nature Energy.

But, after careful analysis, Catherine noticed that something was wrong about the energy, as it seemed as if it carried a will, something that should be impossible.

The energy also seemed tainted, with it not nearly as pure or pristine as Nature Energy or even Mana, and the closest records that she could find from Agamotto seemed to think the energy was closer to a dimensional entity's energy.

However, it seemed that her research into it would take far longer, as she couldn't find the definite origin of the energy, stalling any results she found.

But, back in the real world, just as she was about to finish the tome, Hikaru entered the room after knocking on the door.

"Lady Yao, the man known as Hagoromo is currently in the guest room, wishing to speak with you on a matter he deems exceptionally important."

Catherine guided her astral form back into her physical body, after which she opened her eyes and smiled.

"Well, I suppose it is about time."
