The Academy

*Wack* *Wack* *Wack*

The sounds of fists on wood can be heard deep in the woods as the 4-year-old Zenoshiki, with byakugan activated, hammers away at all the trees around him relentlessly attacking them. However, each of his strikes leaves behind blood on his palms and knuckles.

It has been nearly three days since he had disappeared from the Hyuga clan, however, since this was usual, no one really noticed. However, unlike the previous times, this time he didn't even bother bringing food.

Well, unnoticed by all except one. Zenoshiki finally deactivates his byakugan as he falls to his knees from exhaustion and hunger. Tears streak down his eyes as he stares at the tree in front of him

"Why? Why did this have to happen to me? My father's dead and my brother suddenly ignores my existence. All the others treat me like an outsider... What did I do to deserve this?" Zenoshiki asks no one in particular.

Then, his stomach growls causing him to groan in pain. However, then, from behind him, he hears someone approaching. Zenoshiki then turns around and looks surprised. There, standing in the woods behind him is a small three-year-old girl holding a basket.

She has short purple hair, and pupilless eyes just like him. "Lady Hinata! What are you doing here?" Zenoshiki asks in surprise quickly attempting to wipe his tears away.

She however ignores him and walks over to him and places the basket on the ground in front of her, "Zweno, you shwould eat. It's been thwree days. I got worried."

Zenoshiki's eyes widen in surprise as he opens the basket and looks inside to see 10 neatly placed rice balls. He then quickly grabs some and devours them. After only a few minutes he finally finishes.

After he does so, Hinata walks over to him and wraps her arms around him, "Bwig bwrother, why are you so swad?"

Zeno simply stands there in surprise as tears slowly stream down his face. "Hinata... Do you really see me as your big brother?"

She nods, "Yah, ywour alway nwice to me and hwelp me out. Your my bwig brother."

Zeno then proceeds to wrap his arms around her and replies, 'Thank you Hinata. And don't worry, I promise I won't make you worry anymore."

Hinata nods, "Okway thank you. Let's gwo home."

It's been three days since Hinata found Zenoshiki collapsed in the forest, and today is his first day at the academy.

During these past three days, Zeno has spent more time taking care of himself and properly resting to recover his strength. However, he noticed that his recovery speed was much faster than those around him. What would take weeks if not months for others to recover would only take him a day or two at most.

His hand which had formerly been nearly disfigured have now returned to their smooth gentle selves.

Now, he is standing alone outside of a tall wooden archway that leads to the academy. He looks around and sees dozens of other children his age all surrounded by their loving parents and siblings.

This brings him a pang of despair as it brings back memories of his father and brother. Neji is also here somewhere, but Zenoshiki would rather not see his brother at this point. Those cold, cruel, hateful eyes....

Just thinking about it caused Zenoshiki to clench his fist in frustration. However, he quickly shakes his head and dismisses these thoughts. He has enough to worry about with all the people staring at him.

Zeno shakes his head, but he can't exactly blame them. He had always been told by his father that he would get looked at strangely because of his appearance. Zeno despite his strange appearance was quite a handsome child.

"Who are you?" A cute voice asks from behind in a curious tone.

Turning around Zeno turns to see a cute chestnut-haired girl standing directly behind him. The girl has her hair tied up in twin buns one on each side of her head. Her cheeks are a lightly rosy red which goes nicely with her pale white skin.

Zeno, a little surprised by this, steps back a bit before replying, "I'm Zenoshiki Otsutski. And you are?"

"Hn, I'm Tenten! Your hair is pretty! Why are you so white? Why are your two teeth sharp? Wanna be my friend?"

"Eh!" Zenoshiki can't help but ask in surprise at the girl's enthusiasm. However, he quickly recovers as an excited smile shows itself on his face. This girl was really nice!

While his ordeal with his brother certainly still stung, his conversation with lady Hinata had really helped him recover from the worst of it.

"Um, yes. I would like that." Zenoshiki replies sheepishly.

"Yay! You're my friend now!" Tenten shouts while smiling and clenching her fists excitedly.

Zeno stares at her with a smile curling up on the edges of his lips. He can't help the warm feeling that begins piercing into his heart. It is absurd. He can't help but shift awkwardly unsure how to respond to the girl's statement. "So um. What do you want to be?"

"Me?" She asks while pointing to herself. "I want to be a ninja! I want to be a great kunoichi like Tsunade of the Legendary Sanin!"
