Chapter 71: Leave

-A few days later-

Tekku had just returned from his standard guarding mission. Today, Team Ro had Orange Duty, which basically meant they had to follow Naruto the whole day, as he pranked the Village and make sure he wasn't in any danger.

Jinchuriki were the Elemental Nations' version of a nuclear weapon. Of course, they were guarded by the ANBU as long as they couldn't defend themselves. This would only change once they became fully-fledged shinobi and graduated from the Academy; from there on, their protection fell into the hands of their Jonin Sensei.

Guarding Naruto was a true hassle. The hyperactive blonde caused all kinds of mischief all over the Village and was almost always on the move. The calmest period was when he was training himself.

The mission went on for 24 hours, and Team Ro split into pairs; the first 12-hour shift was taken over by Tekku and Ryota, while the second one was by Tenzo and Yugao.

After their shift was over, they had to report their observations about Naruto and his well-being to the Third Hokage. Similar to Sasuke's case, Tekku tried to improve the future and make his own survival easier. He, of course, reported his observation of Naruto having problems with Chakra Control, and instead of desperately trying to practice the Leaf Concentration Exercise, he should start with a technique that takes more Chakra, like Tree Walking.

Tekku didn't include in his report that the Bunshin Jutsu would be impossible for Naruto to actually learn, as it was important for his character development that he stole the Scroll of Seals, among other reasons.

But that was only a side note of what happened today; the truly important thing that happened during this mission was his Shadow Clones popped. They had finished copying the Uchiha Library and sealed all of the copied scrolls in specifically prepared scrolls. And Tekku was excited to finally return to his apartment. The moment he stepped into it, he activated all of his high-level privacy and security seals and formed a flurry of handsigns.

With a bite into his thumb, he touched the ground, and as his blood spread from there into a sealing array, he uttered, "Contract Seal: Kuchiyose no Jutsu!" This was his plan of how to safely extract the copied scrolls without alarming the ANBU keeping watch on the Uchiha compound.

He had a collection of storage scrolls ready, prepared with a modified contract seal. A sealing technique that normally is used to form new summoning contracts with wild animals, like Kakashi did with his dogs. But Tekku modified it in such a way that he could form a contract with objects, like storage scrolls. Of course, there were some disadvantages; the seal could be easily broken and the summoning contract wouldn't work anymore. Or a person holding the object would also prevent summoning, since the foreign chakra signature interferes with the summoning. Even with the disadvantages, it was still an overall useful technique.

Poof In a white smoke cloud, a scroll appeared on the floor where he had just touched it. He unfolded it and unsealed hundreds of different scrolls. This was a full copy of the currently available Uchiha Library. Sure, his clones packed some scrolls into one as they had similar topics, but it was still all there was.

Research and experiences on the Sharingan, Chakra, Chakra Control, Elements, Shuriken Jutsu, Strategies, Assassinations, Medicine, Eye Health, Lip Reading, Handwriting Copying, information on different Kekkei Genkai, Intel on Summoning Contracts, other interesting locations, and more. And these were just the general scrolls on random topics.

There were hundreds of different ninjutsu on his floor, from B-Rank to lower. The most among them were Fire techniques and Genjutsu, but there was a good collection of jutsu for every element, and even Fuinjutsu, some of which he didn't know yet.

Like a transcription seal that allows one to seal an ocular jutsu into an eye. At first glance, it looked like he could modify it to become a seal that allows one to seal a specific jutsu and release it once a specific condition is met - an automatic defense mechanism. This seal was used by Itachi in Canon to cast the kotoamatsukami once the owner saw Itachi's Mangekyou Sharingan. It was what released him from the Edo Tensei Control of Kabuto during the Fourth Shinobi War.

Then there were some interesting yang and yin release techniques, which would be useful to further his understanding in these very elusive nature releases. Usually, such techniques were part of the hidden jutsus that shinobi clans passed down orally. But the Uchiha Clan relied on their prized Kekkei Genkai, the Sharingan, to become a fearsome clan. Such techniques seemed to be used by the most powerful members.

Most of them were useless for him right now and would only serve as a reference, since especially the Yin Release techniques required the Sharingan to work, like the Hypnotic Eye technique which was used to empower any Genjutsu with the help of the Sharingan.

But there were also a few gems that could become really useful for Tekku. There is the Yang Breathing Jutsu, for example. It's a technique that enhances the capacity of his lungs with Yang Chakra and makes all Fire Release Techniques cast through the mouth more powerful. Interestingly, it was created by Madara Uchiha. This Jutsu may be the reason why it took all Water Release Users of a whole army to stop one B-Rank Fire Release: Great Fire Annihilation from Madara. Absolutely something Tekku wanted to master. It had nothing to do with wanting to look like a badass one day; only because that technique seemed so useful. Maybe a bit...

Another cool thing among the scrolls is that there were a ton of different Kekkei Genkai techniques, like Explosion Release, Ice Release, and even Wood Release. There were at least some notes on any Kekkei Genkai in the Elemental Nations. It seemed the Uchiha Clan was very thorough in using the ability of their Sharingan fully. Even theories and observations on techniques and Jutsus from different powerful shinobi were there.

Like the Dust Release of the Tsuchikage, the Second Tsuchikage's Fission Technique, or Kumo's Black Lightning. The Uchiha Clan hadn't managed to reproduce them, but they made sure to document everything they could observe anytime a member encountered these techniques. Tekku was truly grateful for their effort. Some of these notes would make his plans much easier.

"Oh? Owl! What can I do for you, my cute little subordinate?" asked Dragon from behind his desk in his office at the ANBU Headquarters as Tekku closed the door behind him.

"Dragon-sama, I am hereby formally requesting a three-month leave with permission to leave the village!" requested Tekku formally as he handed the necessary paperwork over.

"I can grant you some leave, but only inside the village. You've only been in the ANBU for one and a half years! Three months is a bit much. To grant your request, I would need a good reason," said Dragon.

"I have located some possible locations for summoning contracts that I want to check out. As a shinobi of the village, I have the right to take up to two months of leave within reasonable timeframes to improve myself. Additionally, I want to add my official 30 days of holiday this year to that," explained Tekku.

"I see. Indeed, this is your rightful request. Okay, I will grant it. But I expect you to travel incognito. The other villages are still looking for opportunities to eliminate you."
