The father and daughter turned their heads to look at Yusuke, who was holding the blade of the White Fang in his right hand and a wine jug in his left. He was shaking his head and walking towards them.
Seeing Yusuke's slightly reddened handsome face and the smell of wine, Shinku couldn't help but frown and said, "You, did you go drinking?".
"Huh?"
Yusuke's footsteps staggered, and he fell directly into Shinku's arms.
"Damn it!"
Shinku scolded under his breath, quickly helping Yusuke up, and said, "Are you sick? Konoha has just been devastated by a catastrophe that almost wiped out the village, and you're in the mood to drink?".
Kurenai pinched her nose and muttered, "Big brother stinks."
"Hey, hey, uncle, what you said is not right."
Yusuke, supported by Shinku, said with a smile, "This time, Konoha has survived a catastrophe. We were about to be destroyed by the Nine-Tails, but we managed to make it. Isn't this worth celebrating?"
Yusuke raised the flask again and drank from it.
Shinku thought, realizing the kid's perspective had some merit. It was hard to argue with his reasoning.
"Kurenai, you go back to rest first. I'll get this kid back home," Shinku said to Kurenai, then started carrying Yusuke to his house.
"No, uncle, my house was blown up by the Nine-Tails, and I have nowhere to go."
Yusuke grinned.
For Yusuke, the destruction of his home was a trivial matter. He was pleased with how smoothly his plans had gone. Konoha had lost two-thirds of its land, over 1,500 ninjas, and the ultimate weapon, the Nine-Tails. It was no longer possible for Konoha to hold the title of "Number 1 Village in the Ninja World".
In terms of comprehensive strength, Kumo and Iwa had likely surpassed Konoha. The only reason it hadn't been surpassed by the villages of Mist and Sand was because of Konoha's substantial heritage and the presence of five kage-level figures: Sarutobi, Danzo, and the Sannin.
As for Yusuke, he didn't consider himself part of Konoha at all.
Hearing Yusuke's words, Shinku frowned, helped him into his house, and said, "I owe you, so you can stay here for now."
As Yusuke was Shinku's best friend's subordinate and the hero who saved Konoha, it was only reasonable to offer him assistance.
"Big brother stinks, let's take a bath," Kurenai pouted.
"Hey, hey, uncle, are you trying to recruit me as a son-in-law? I'm quite popular; you'll have to offer a little more than that" Yusuke said with a strange smile.
Kurenai immediately ran to her room on the second floor, her face flushed.
"Get out!"
Shinku angrily threw Yusuke onto the sofa. He almost tossed the kid out for daring to flirt with his daughter.
The first rays of sunlight in the morning reflected on the house.
Yusuke, lying on the sofa, got up with his forehead covered and muttered, "Alas, I was too drunk last night. My head still hurts a bit..."
Although he was quite drunk, Yusuke woke up when the sun came up. This was a habit he had from his previous life.
"Here, big brother Yusuke, this is tomato juice. It helps with a hangover."
Kurenai came out with a bottle of tomato juice, her face red.
"Well, thank you. Kurenai, you're so considerate," Yusuke said, taking the tomato juice and pinching Kurenai's cheek.
Kurenai blushed and quickly ran back to her room.
After finishing the tomato juice and washing his face, Yusuke felt more awake.
"Hey, Uncle Shinku!"
Yusuke called out, but no one responded.
"I... my dad has already gone out to help with the reconstruction of Konoha," Kurenai's voice came from behind the door.
"That's..."
Yusuke clutched his stomach. He hadn't eaten anything since last night, being too focused on drinking.
"Sister Kurenai, let's go. I'll take you to breakfast," Yusuke said, beckoning.
Kurenai, her face flushed with embarrassment, followed Yusuke as he led her out of the house. They strolled through the damaged streets of Konoha.
The ninjas had already started repairs, but with the extent of the damage, it would take at least six months to restore everything to its original state.
At that moment, Kurenai spotted a familiar face.
"What a coincidence!"
A boy of the same age as Kurenai waved and greeted them.
"Rin, Obito! You're all right!"
Kurenai said in surprise.
Obito, who was just a six-year-old at the moment, looked at Yusuke and then at Kurenai, smiling.
"Hey, Kurenai, why are you holding a man's hand?" Obito teased.
Kurenai's face turned red, and she quickly retracted her hand.
"Obito, this is Yusuke-sama, who helped Konoha repel the Nine-Tails," Kurenai said, introducing Yusuke with admiration.
"That's him!?"
Obito exclaimed, his face lighting up with adoration. "Hello! Yusuke-sama, I'm Uchiha Obito, and I'm going to become Hokage one day!"
Yusuke chuckled and patted Obito's shoulder. "Kid, take it from your uncle, you might want to rethink that dream."
