Chapter 39: Pain Of Betrayal II

........

"Just for the record, the weather today is partly suspicious with chances of betrayal." ~ Chuck Palahniuk

"Got you, boy!" Isaac heard the man's words, the latter grinning brightly despite his certain death, but if he was to do, he's gonna take someone with him, that being Isaac.

And Isaac seemed powerless to stop him as the lightning that burst out of the Third Raikage seemingly left him stunned, "Black Hole!" That's if he hadn't spoken those two words.

The words shouldn't have mattered considering the Third Raikage's speed as the latter's hand was already tightly clenched, his fist heading directly to Isaac's head.

With the Third Raikage's strength, that punch would be enough to annihilate Isaac's head, thus making the latter's effort useless.

However, the Third Raikage's punch didn't reach Isaac, colliding with none other than Fugaku, who appeared in front of Isaac, protecting him with his arms up.

There it was, the familiar sound of bones breaking, although strangely and much to Fugaku and A's dismay, the force of the punch was way lower than expected.

A, the Third Raikage realized why in an instant, but he was too late as the force of the punch sent Fugaku directly at Isaac, the Black Hole before the latter made sure that happened.

As a result, Isaac and Fugaku were thrown way back, the former, pulling A with him, "Got you."

Isaac's hand was still in A's chest, the latter made sure of that to kill Isaac. However, now it was Isaac who made sure his hand was stuck to A's chest as he swung the latter around.

There, in the direction they were thrown as a clone awaiting their arrival, a blade in its hand, a river of wind condensed around it.

The clone was already swinging its blade as if expecting A's arrival as Isaac swung the latter towards it while still keeping him stuck with frost all over his chest.

There must be something A can do to get away from certain death for he feels the deadly danger coming from the wind blade.

Unfortunately, he realized that there wasn't much he could do. He would normally just release his lightning in a suicidal explosion if things come to worst.

A did try to do that only to realize that all the lightning that makes Lightning Chakra Mode so broken was being absorbed by Isaac before getting transferred to the ground beneath him.

Isaac was acting as a natural conductor, a very effective one with the help of the Black Hole. He certainly can not absorb Chakra, but every speck of lightning flows through him to the ground beneath him.

It was easier when Isaac was just standing on the ground, but even when he was thrown away, the Earth followed his commands, keeping contact with him to make sure all of that lightning didn't completely destroy him.

However, even though he was controlling the earth to minimize the effect of the lightning on him, it still didn't completely spare him from the destructive nature of lightning.

That was made apparent by the look of pain on Isaac's face, yet he bore through it as he swung A toward the clone.

"Damn you, Uchiha!!!" Those were A's last words before his head flew into the air, blood spiraling all around.

Isaac fell to the ground, unable to move at all, his muscles having been destroyed by the lightning.

And as the adrenaline stopped dulling his pain, his face crunched up into an unbearable expression, having never felt such pain ever in this life and his previous life.

"You surprised me, Isaac," Fugaku walked up to him, saying while breathing heavily, his face pale, "I want to help you but my arms are useless right now."

Indeed, Fugaku's arms were broken with that punch for the Third Raikage's punch is anything but simple.

It didn't take long for Isaac to regain his ability to move as he sat up, his bloody hand over his face as he endured the pain, "I hate meaningless wars." Isaac concluded.

"So do I," Fugaku agreed as he sat by his side, eyeing the remaining Uchihas as they finished their battle, now approaching the two with various expressions, admiration, shock, and disbelief.

Throughout the entirety of the war, Isaac remained intact, having never been injured. In fact, he didn't experience even something as light as a scratch.

Therefore, the Uchihas found themselves used to how much of a cockroach Isaac could be, thus why he was considered to be the most annoying of opponents.

Yet here he was before them, sitting in a pool of blood, and missing an arm. Isaac's face was pale, his expression was bleak, and his hair extremely messy, somewhat dyed in specks of blood.

However, as much disbelief as there was, there was even more admiration for he just took off the Third Raikage's head, someone considered to be one of the strongest in the world.

It was, however, costly as Isaac cut off a piece of cloth which he bit tightly, bearing through all the time.

Moreover, he didn't allow the medical ninjas of the Uchiha to tend to him as he forced himself to barely stand up before getting his arm.

Fugaku realized what he wanted to do as he helped him with opening a specific scroll before unsealing a container.

All that was needed then was for Isaac to use the runic code to utilize a special chakra nature, Ice Nature. He made sure the container was freezing cold before putting the arm in and closing it tightly.

Only then did he seal the container back in a scroll, allowing him to let out a sigh of relief.

"Let someone tend to you," Fugaku said as he himself was tended to by several medical ninjas who used the Mystical Palm Technique to heal his injuries, the same with Isaac.

"What a monster," Fugaku remarked as he eyed the very reason why the fight against the Third Raikage ended so quickly.

"Indeed," Even Isaac was surprised at the Third Raikage's tenacity... How could someone even as much as raise a finger after losing their heart?

Indeed, the corpse of the Third Raikage told a story as the hollow hole in his chest dug deep into his heart, yet he was somehow still able to not only talk but also move... Truly a monster.

There were many deaths, so the air was already gloomy. However, it only became worse once Fugaku received certain information, "The third team is being ambushed right now."

Isaac frowned in doubt, "What about Minato?"

"He has just received the news that our operation is done, so he should be retreating right now. His battle against the beast must've been far away from his team. The Tailed Beast is too dangerous to allow them to run amok near his team." Fugaku explained as he stood up.

"First Team! Quickly prepare to reinforce the Third Team! Second Team! Escort the wounded back to the camp!" Fugaku's loud orders reverberated throughout the battlefield, making them realize that there indeed is no rest for the wicked.

"I know you can barely stand up, so go back with your team," Fugaku instructed Isaac, "My hands are useless but my eyes stay strong, so I'll go."

Isaac nodded. He really could barely move. His muscles felt fried, and every inch of his body hurt like hell, so he had to be carried by one of the ninjas of the second team.

"Stop," Isaac was being carried back, although he had a frown on his face, frowning more as the seconds went by, until he instructed, "Enemy attack."

Isaac tried to yell loudly, but he really couldn't, his voice too lost in the void. However, the kid carrying him heard him, a kid whose age is similar to his own as he yelled loudly, "Enemy attack!!!" The second team was also ambushed.

It started to smell like a conspiracy as if there were some unknown evil eyes scheming things from the dark, making sure a specific kunai found itself planted in Isaac's heart. Truly the worst of days.
