Chapter 94 : Set Up

"So, the Nine-Tails kid is travelling with Jiraiya, one of the legendary Sannin. That old toad is not someone we want to mess with right now." Kisame said as both him and Itachi saw Jiraiya with two kids moving towards a town nearby.

"Yes, Jiraiya is a formidable opponent. Fighting him would only cause unnecessary complications. Our goal is to capture Nine Tails, not engage in a battle we might not walk away from." Itachi agreed.

"So, what's the plan? Jiraiya's not going to let that brat out of his sight. We can't just grab the kid with him around. And what with the other one, isn't the blond idiot-looking one is the Jinchuriki ?"

"Jiraiya has a weakness. He's easily distracted by women. We can use that to our advantage. And yes, Uzumaki Naruto is our only target, that other kid, do whatever you want with him."

Kisame grins upon hearing this.

"You want to lure him away with a pretty face, huh? That sounds like something he'd fall for. How do you want to pull it off?"

"Genjutsu." Itachi only said this much. But to which Kisame smirk.

"Ah, Simple but effective. That Sharingan sure is handy in cases like this. But, what if Jiraiya realizes something's off? He's not a fool."

"We'll have to be quick. Jiraiya may realize it eventually, but if we time it right, he'll be too distracted to stop us. The key is keeping him busy long enough."

"I like it. Just one thing… you sure you don't want to take on Jiraiya? I mean, a fight like that would be pretty exciting." Kisame asked with a blood thirsty grin on his face.

"Kisame, our mission isn't about excitement. It's about capturing Nine Tails. A battle with Jiraiya would be unpredictable and could draw unnecessary attention. If other shinobi from Konoha or elsewhere get involved, it could jeopardize everything." Itachi replied, still on his normal tone but this time he did sounded a little more serious.

"Right, right. Gotta stick to the mission. But still, it would've been fun."

Jiraiya, Naruto, and Shika finally arrived at the town after hours of traveling. The streets were busy with people, and the air was filled with the smell of food from nearby shops.

"Alright, we're taking a break here," Jiraiya announced, stretching his arms as they walked toward a small inn. "You two, why don't you get something to eat? You must be starving."

Naruto's eyes lit up. "Yes! Ramen, here I come!"

But just as Naruto was about to dash off, Jiraiya stopped him and pulled out his wallet. "Oh, but first… give me your money."

"Huh?" Naruto blinked, confused. "Why?"

Jiraiya grinned. "Because I'm your teacher, and you owe me for all the training I've been doing. Plus, this is for your own good. You don't need to spend it all at once."

Shika hearing this was looking a 'Are you serious look' to Jiraiya but that old man shamelessly asking money from the little kid, Shika to was a a kid, but he was reincarnated being so that doesn't count.

Grumbling, Naruto reluctantly handed over his money. Jiraiya then took out a small amount of cash from his own wallet and handed it to Naruto. "Here. That's enough for a bowl of ramen."

"Wait a minute!" Naruto protested. "You took all my money and only gave me a little bit of yours! That's not fair!"

Jiraiya just chuckled. "Life isn't fair, kid. Remember that a Ninja should always stay vigilant from over indulging himself, especially when it comes to Money, Woman and Alcohol. Now go enjoy your ramen." Jiraiya said and took all the money.

Naruto stormed off, muttering under his breath, while Shika shook his head, amused by the whole situation. He had gotten used to Jiraiya's antics by now.

Shika turned to Jiraiya. "So, what now? Are we just staying here for a while?"

Too turn to Shika, Shika already long have spread his Shikigami to find that both Itachi and Kisame were trailing them just like in the anime, Shika didn't delay to tell this to Jiraiya. So right now both of them were mainly acting.

Jiraiya nodded. "Yeah, we'll rest here before moving on. No rush. It's good to take things slow sometimes, you know?" Jiraiya reply, while laughing, Shika has to say that this guy is a good actor.

Just as they were getting comfortable, a beautiful woman approached Jiraiya. Her movements were elegant, and she had a shy smile on her face. Jiraiya's eyes lit up immediately.

"Well, hello there," Jiraiya said, grinning. "What brings a beautiful lady like you to someone like me?"

The woman giggled softly and gestured for Jiraiya to follow her. "Come with me… I'd like to show you something," she said in a soft, alluring voice.

'Really, what kind of fool will fall for something like that, what girl says that.' Shika thought and shook his head.

Without thinking twice, Jiraiya was already following her. Making Shika frown, Shika raised an eyebrow, but before he could say anything, Jiraiya was already gone.

Shika glanced at Naruto, who was still happily slurping his ramen. "Eat fast, we need to get to the room after this," Shika muttered to Naruto.

'I just hope that Sasuke was vigilant and didn't attack Itachi in the village. And even if he did, its better for him to lose his consciousness in the village than here.' Shika thought and got ready for what was about to happen after this.
