Chapter 18 Deserted Town

Land of Rice Paddies.

As the name suggests, a vast area of Land of Rice paddies comprises of Rice Fields.

"Come on, Lee!!!, we are about to reach our destination, don't give up now!!!"

The silence in the fields was broken as with the uprising of dust that could be seen even from afar, the camera spotted two strange shadows.

The shadow of two strange beasts with watermelon heads and green skin was only visible for a second before it flashed away, leaving the dust trail behind.

"These two idiots!!!, they really intended to reach in one day!!"

Neji, who ran side by side with Gojo, cursed as he really didn't expect them to be serious.

It's only been a day since they have left the village, and they are about to reach their destination already.

They didn't sleep on the way as those two lunatics didn't stop for a second and kept running, giving them no other choice but to follow.

He is already deeply exhausted, and if he didn't rest, he might die at any moment.

Munch…

"Hmm~ delicious"

Neji, who was having a hard time, suddenly the sound of "munch munch" as he looked over and saw Gojo savoring potato chips with a delightful expression on his face.

Lee entered the town and acted just like his idol.

"Hey! It seems I need to increase the training of Neji and Satoru"

After celebrating, Guy looked at the town entrance road and saw no sign of Neji and Gojo; he knew he needed to be strict with them.

"Sensei~ hurry up, let's find a place to rest, or Neji won't survive much longer"

Guy, along with Lee, was looking at the road waiting for Gojo and Neji to appear suddenly heard a voice from behind them.

An astonished expression appeared on their face as they turned around and saw Gojo with the passed out Neji on his shoulders looking at them with a wide grin all over his face.

"You!!!"

Guy seemed to have seen a ghost as with trembling hands he pointed towards and wanted to say something, but no words came out of his mouth.

"How... long have you have been here, Satoru Kun?"

After being surprised for a while, Lee finally asked the most crucial question.

"Me~ let's see... just a little before Guy Sensei arrived, I could have been faster though, If I didn't have Neji on my shoulder"

How could Gojo let go of the opportunity to brag so; He went all out without caring for the feelings of the youth duo.

Thud…

"I…lost…completely"

Guy fell on his knees as he seemed to have lost his soul, and with an expression of despair on his face, he admitted his defeat.

He was defeated thoroughly; he lost to someone who was even carrying the weight of others.

"Don't give up Yet!! Guy Sensei!!! Didn't you say setbacks are part of the youth? The real springtime of youth only arrives when you learn from those setbacks"

Lee couldn't see his idol in such a situation as he tried to reignite the fire of youth inside Guy.

"You are right, Lee!!!, If I give up so quickly, how can I live up to my name of the blue beast"

Flames appeared in the blank eyes of Guy as he was reborn again

Man~ this town sure is deserted"

Gojo ignored the youth duo as he looked around and could hardly even see a single person.

A few days ago, a Konoha Genin squad was lost around this area, so this mission didn't have a client, and they were sent here to investigate the situation by the village.

According to the report, Offaku town, the town they are now, is a very prosperous town, but it looked totally different.

Gojo pushed open the door of an Inn with the weak Neji on his shoulder as Guy and Lee both were beside him.

"Welcome guests from afar; please have a seat"

Contrary to their expectation, a waitress who looked more like a shrine maiden welcomed them as she guided them to their table.

"Why is the town so deserted?

Gojo looked towards her as he hoped this girl would answer their questions.

"Lately, many people are disappearing; this town was a lot prosperous before, but due to mysterious disappearance, merchants are afraid to visit the town, and the town has been affected a lot"

The waitress brought four cups of tea with some dumplings in a tray and placed them on the table as she explained the reason behind the town's desertedness.

"Sir, anything more"

"No~, thank you"

Gojo refused as he picked up the cup of tea, and just when it was about to touch his lips, he paused for a second before he continued to drink.

Neji also had woken up as he, without care, devoured the food in front as he was too tired and wanted to replenish his energy.

"Sensei~, it's too late already; why don't we spend the night here and start investigating tomorrow?"

"It's a good idea, after getting some rest, it will be easy for us to gather information tomorrow"

While eating, Gojo suggested as Guy quickly agreed, and they all decided to spend the night here at the Inn.
