Naruto: Reborn as a specialist

This is a work in progress book that I'm writing in my freetime. This book is not my original Idea, and is actually based on a dnd I'm doing with a couple of my friends. I don't know all the clans, lore, special names, or anything like that off the top of my head, but I will try to use the ones I know when I can. A friend of mine is doing a similar type of story based on the exact same dnd so please check him out here: http://wbnv.in/a/85hxWRD He got me into using this app to finally start writing, so it's only fair to include him. Anyways, I hope you enjoy the book! Feedback, good or bad is always appreciated as I'm trying to learn.

Switching up the training

After about 2 weeks I had collected 23 various pelts. And earned myself a good bit of money. I also started doing errands for almost every vendor after they saw hard I worked.

I have enough steady income to consistently buy vegetables from the old man. This way I can make soups and salads along with the meat I catch. This gives me a pretty consistent and balanced diet. I would like to get some spices though, but if I can forage for them instead of buying them I'll save a good bit of money.

I'll have to swing by the library and see if I can't find any good books on that stuff.

The coyote is consistently in the area though, they have the bottoms of the trees all scratxhed up from trying tk steal my food. I accidentally snatched 2 meals from him though, so I do feel bad. I could tell from the tracks in the mud. I am glad I made the traps though, I got to learn how tracking works, and my food catches itself.

Pretty soon I'm gonna start making live catch traps so I can release the captured critter and practice hitting a moving target with my kunai. I can hit a swinging target, but the movement is too consistent. If I use animals I can practice on a more unpredictable target. I don't wanna develop any bad habits.

My endurance is slowly getting better too, so that's a plus! All this running with errands is really paying off.

"I guess I'll head to the library after I'm done with my errands" I said to myself while walking out the door.

I had 13 errands to do that day, so I was pretty busy, but I can't complain too much. I'm getting to train while earning money, so it's actually not that bad.

One thing I found out is that the first lady I delivered vegetables to was a pretty frequent customer. She gets a basket of mixed vegetables every single day.

After the deliveries were done, I grabbed all of my saved up money and tore off for the library. I had never been there before and if there's one thing I've always loved, it's reading. Who knows what kinds of books the library held. Maybe it has books to learn chakra control. That's wishful thinking, but a little hope never hurt anyone.

After getting to the library, I walked up to the librarian's desk and asked if there were any books about plants and foraging. Of course there were a handful, so I skimmed through them for about 2 hours and found the ones I needed for finding and making spices.

On the way out after paying for the books, I decided to take a shot in the dark.

"Hey, do you have any books on chakra control and other jutsu techniques?" I asked

"I do not, but maybe the ninja academy does" she responded

"Okay, thank you!"

I COMPLETELY FORGOT THERE WAS AN ACADEMY! How could I be so stupid! Am I even old enough to join?

"You'll turn 6 in 61 days" said the voice of fhe shadowy figure in my head "then you can join"

"Well that's not creepy at all", I thought to myself, "thanks though"

I then went and bought a calendar, marked my birthday, and took the rest of the day planning my training.

I have 61 days to work with. That's 2 whole months to train. That makes it around 9 weeks to train.

I'll save you some time and give you a quick summary of how my training for the next 2 months went.

Week 1-2: finish out my kunai target practice with swinging targets.

Week 3-4: figure out how to throw a kunai in a straight line.

Week 5-6: use live traps to have practice with moving targets.

Week 7-9: work on freerunning, parkour, endurance, etc.

And it was finally time to enroll after 2 months of greuling training. I'm still not confident in my abilities, but I wasn't doing too bad. With the confidence that I wouldn't look like too much of a fool, I started off towards the academy to sign up.

After arriving I talked to the guy running the front desk, and he explained that if I sign up now it'll be another 4 months until the first class. That was fine by me, so I signed all the paperwork, marked the first day of school, and finally went to sleep after that busy day. It was probably the best sleep I ever had, dreaming about what is to come of this wonderful new world.
