[Displaying skills that the user can choose from... Ensuring they are not power balance-breaking.]
[All of Creation: It enables the user to comprehend anything as long as they have a basic understanding of it, and it is perceivable to the user. ]
[Glaciate Barriers: It grants the user the ability to generate barriers that can be used for defense against incoming attacks or to trap and isolate opponents.]
[Thought Communication: It enables the user to communicate telepathically with multiple people. The range of effectiveness depends on the user, uses chakra as a medium.]
[Shadow Motion: It grants the user the ability to utilize Shadow Space, a dimension within shadows that connects them to other shadows and can be accessed through related spatial movement. Note that there is no air inside the space, so the user needs to hold their breath while inside.]
[You can only choose two of the skills, but you will need to sacrifice one perk to choose two skills, which are ranked below perks.]
"Let me think," nodded the young man as he contemplated whether the range of these skills truly surpassed the perks. Perks like "Sage Body" and "Status" were undoubtedly more powerful than some of the skills provided.
Status allows him to track his progress and might even be able to detect whether he's been poisoned or not.
And Sage Body is essentially akin to Hashirama's constitution, passively absorbing nature energy and possessing peak regeneration capacity. It's considered the pinnacle of power in that world.
But he can't be so sure about that now, as the system-like entity has confirmed the alterations made to the ninja world.
"I choose Shadow Motion and All of Creation," he said after taking a deep breath. Even though Shadow Motion had its limitations, he knew he'd need to control his breath as a shinobi anyway. He had decided that he didn't want his new life to be normal and plain like his past life.
[Confirmed...Now choose the perks, only two of them...]
"I choose Sage Body. I want the next one to be the luck spin," he declared. He had contemplated his choices for the second perk but ultimately settled on luck spin.
[Confirmed...user will go through a Sage Body awakening at the age of 17... Luck spin selected by the user... Arranging for luck spin]
A new wheel materialized before his eyes, and as he stared at all the options, he couldn't help but hold back a wince.
The wheel had 'luck' at the top as a headline, and on the wheel itself were varying luck statuses on one half: 'Low,' 'Mid,' 'Good,' 'High,' 'Extreme.' On the other half were the opposite statuses: 'No luck,' 'bad luck,' 'Terrible luck,' 'Abysmal'.
Like earlier, a new button materialized in his hand, and he pressed it without hesitation. If he waited, who knows if he would have had the guts to do it.
Spinning as he stared at the wheel, he closed his eyes and pressed the stop button. He could hear the wheel slowing down, and it stopped with a beep.
Slowly opening his right eye in anticipation, he saw that the wheel had stopped at...'Bad Luck.'
"Fuuuukkkkk!!" he shouted out in frustration with all his strength.
[Confirmed...you will be transmigrated soon....The supreme one wishes you good luck...]
'The supreme one wishes me good luck, more like making a fool of me!' he yelled in his mind.
And just like that, he was thrown out of the cosmos where he had been conversing with the system-like entity.
–Reborn as a Hatake–
There lay a boy, roughly twelve years old, with ashen white hair and a roughed-up face. He was lying on his stomach with his face pressed against the muddy ground, rain continuing to drench him.
From some distance away, a squirrel cautiously approached the downed boy. It examined the boy's hand where it found a half-eaten fruit, its other half missing, likely taken by something non-human...Like a Bat..
The squirrel cautiously approached the boy, trying not to wake him.
It desired that partially eaten fruit in the boy's hand, reaching out and sniffing it a few times before swiftly snatching it away with a quick motion.
The squirrel ran away after snatching what it wanted.
He awoke with water hitting his face, the never-ending stream of rain pouring from the sky and digging into the ground.
"W-What happened?" He asked no one in particular, his voice hoarse. Hunger gnawed at him, and he was plagued by headaches.
A stinging sensation washed over him, halting his headache and providing him with new information. It became evident that his bad luck had already begun to make his life difficult.
He found himself in Ame-No-Kuni, a land he was familiar with. His memories told him he didn't have a father, and his mother had been brutally murdered after being raped by a few Shinobi's.
He was in a dire era; the second Great Shinobi War had ignited just a few weeks ago. Ame-No-Kuni bore the brunt of being situated in the middle of three major villages, making it a dangerous place to be.
The predecessor of this body ran, a frightened child unable to witness the chaos unfolding around him. Explosions and Ninjutsu were cast without concern for civilians, and he ran for days without food or water.
He raised and looked at his hand to see if the half-bitten fruit he had risked his life to pluck was still there.
Unfortunately, it was gone. It was indeed not a favorable situation. However, from the memories, it seemed that the predecessor was quite strong even without formal training.
'Must be that Hatake blood running through the body,' he thought as he struggled to stand up, managing it only with difficulty.
The child had attempted to climb a tree to pluck the fruit, slipped, and fell, leaving him with a half-bitten fruit that he didn't know where it was now.
Looking around for something to help him walk, he spotted a somewhat muddy stick that appeared thick enough to support his weight. He carefully took hold of it and used it as a makeshift crutch to aid his walking.
The mud beneath his feet dirtied the insides of his toenails, and small rocks pierced his soles as he slowly moved forward, doing his best to disregard the stinging sensation in his leg.
"Continue forward...you have to endure...at least for five years...you can't die before that..." He encouraged himself, reminding himself of the Sage Body awakening that would occur at the age of 17. "Just...five more...years to go."
