chapter 14 : Chinoike Clan

During the past two years, Merlin did not leave his underground laboratory; he fully focused on the development of the new rune. Walking out of the base, Merlin entered the forest. Merlin was really interested in the ability of Chinoike Clan member's and the main reason Merlin decided to stay back was to study their clan technic. Casting " Breeze lift " Merlin flew to the location where Chinoike Clan was located.
The place where Chinoike Clan members were located was a barren land with no natural resources. Seeing the conditions of the land, Merlin couldn't help but feel pity for them. Further going in, Merlin saw a few children's drinking water from the lake that had a blood-red color. Coming closer to the children's, Merlin greeted them.
"Hello, my name is Merlin. I have come from a far land. I would like to meet your clan elder," said Merlin softly.
Taken aback by the sudden appearance, the children still managed to calm down. After hearing the request, the children looked at each other. One of the children even came close to him and said, "Mister, you are from the outside world."
Taking some candies out of his bag, Merlin gave them to the children. "Yes I am indeed not from here. Can you take me where your clan is located."
"Thanks, mister. I will lead you to where the adults are staying." Following the children, Merlin came to the place where they are staying. " Grandpa look someone came from the outside."
Merlin saw an elderly man with a long beard and wrinkles; his face showed the expression of hardship. "Hello, my name is Merlin. I come from Hoshigakure," he said, stretching out his hand. The elder looked at Merlin's face before taking his hand. "Your hand is different from that of shinobi or civilians," the elder spoke. Hearing this, Merlin was taken aback.
" Let's talk inside. Children's go and play outside. Let me talk with our guest." Going inside the house, the elderly man spoke, "my name is Sentoki Chinoike, current leader of the Chinoike Clan. Let me ask, who are you and what do you want?"
"I'm Merlin, and I'm a wizard. I came here to trade with Chinoike Clan."
"Wizard, what is that? And what do you want to trade, as you can see what can be traded in this decadent land?"
"Wizard, someone who studies the truth of the universe and can bend the laws of the universe at will. As for what can be traded, I'll say it upfront: I came here to study your kekkei Genkai, the Ketsuryūgan."
"Study our kekkei genkai? Who do you think you are?" said the elder in anger.
Releasing his chakra pressure, Merlin spoke, "Careful who you are speaking with. If I want, I could raze this entire place. And the trade is an opportunity for you."
Calming down Sentoki spoke " what can give us." Taking out a bag full of potions Merlin spoke. " These are health recovering potions as long as you consume this potions you can get heal any mortal injury or illness. It can also be diluted with water to spray in fields to increase productivity no matter which location. Other bag contain chakra recovery portions and many useful potions for daily life to be easier. And if you have any requests I can help you as long it's within my ability."
Taking a potion in hand Sentoki drank one soon he find himself brimming with energy and his previous injury no longer exists. " Such a marvelous potion. " Seeing the effect of the potion he no longer hesitated to trade. Standing up he went out of the room and came back with a stack of papers and a wooden box. "Here is what you came for"
Looking at the paper's, he found information that previous clan members had discovered about ketsuryugan. Opening the wooden box, Merlin saw something he wasn't expecting: inside was a real Ketsuryugan. "Merlin, you said you were a wizard. Can you show me the difference between a wizard and a shinobi?" Hearing the request, Merlin nodded, and they walked out to an isolated place.
Pointing his hand at a tree, Merlin unleashed 'Ember Blast' which completely destroying the tree. However, Sentoki was rendered speechless at witnessing the devastation brought about by the spell—"such power even without hand seals." Going back inside, Merlin saw several children's coming near him. "Mister, I heard you have candies. Can you tell a story?" Seeing this, Merlin decided to spend some time with them.
