Ch 42 : The devil's plot

Almost a month had passed from the time when Chisaki and the Third Kazekage played card game in his office.

In the one month, there were a lot of things that Chisaki had prepared, but now it was finally the time to strike the deal.

On the office was the Third Kazekage and Rasa; currently, the Third Kazekage was watching the report on his hand, but he could only shake his head helplessly.

" What's the matter, Kazekage-sama? Do we have any trouble here?"

Asked Rasa concernedly.

But to Rasa's question, the Third Kazekage only answered with a sigh.

" *Sigh* It's nothing like that, Rasa. In fact... I think that we have created a monster.."

" ??? "

Rasa was certainly confused with this response. He indeed had an idea about who the Third Kazekage was talking about, but he still was pretty much confused.

Seeing this, the Third Kazekage just smiled as he showed the document on his hand.

" Look at this. This is the current state of our enemies."

" ... "

- A few days prior -

Sitting inside a round table in Konoha was the four-kages meeting called by the Hokage.

It was one of the clauses that Suna sent to Konoha for an alliance, Suna was ready to give Konoha a lot of remuneration. But for that, Suna wanted Konoha to call a four-Kage gathering as they also needed to ensure that the other two villages would not be gnawing into them.

Honestly, listening to this request, Konoha secretly sneered at Suna. Did Suna really think that after all they did in the second world war, the two Villages would easily accept their term?

Nonetheless, no one would reject a free lunch, and since Suna had come here privately to offer the free lunch, Konoha obviously wouldn't refuse.

And just like that, the day where the three Kages of their respecting village came to Konoha arrived.

In a small room with a round table on it, the four Kage was sitting together, but there was no sense of harmony. Instead, the situation was very tense right now.

" So, can we just cut the crap and get into the point? I still have a lot of things to do in my village!" Declared the Third Raikage, who was famous for his fiery temper.

On his side was Onoki, who even though he didn't have the same fiery temper as the Third Raikage, also nodded in agreement.

The Third Hokage saw this and could only sigh. These two old guys... why can't they be a bit more peaceful?

Still, the Third Hokage decided to just throw this matter to the Third Kazekage. After all, it was the Third Kazekage's business from the start.

He exchanged gaze with the Third Kazekage, and the third Kazekage quickly nodded as if he knew what to do.

The Third Kazekage was just about to stand up to explain what they were here for, but then a hurried knock came from the outside.

It was so harsh that even the four kages inside became annoyed.

" What!? Who told you to disturb us? Don't you know it is an important four kage-"

But then, a shocking scene happened. The one that appeared on the door was not Konoha Shinobi but instead a Kumo Shinobi.

" Raikage-Sama, urgent situation, the village was under attack by an unknown enemy!"

" What!!!!"

Raikage's face immediately turned shocked. To be attacked when he was outside, this enemy was really vicious.

But that was not the end yet. Just after the Kumo Shinobi; Iwa Shinobi and Suna Shinobi, one by one, came and told their respective Kage that their village was under attack.

Hearing the report, everyone's eyes turned gloomy here. The timing was just too vicious to use the absence of the kage to attack the village.

However, someone suddenly noticed something was strange here.

Why was their village attacked when they came to Konoha? There surely was something strange here, especially when Konoha was the one that called the gathering. And to make it more suspicious, Konoha was the only one not getting attacked. If this was not a coincidence, then just what was this?

The three Kage looked at the Hokage with a gloomy expression and eyes that really could kill.

Well, what could the Hokage do? The Kazekage hadn't explained yet that he was the one that called the meeting, and Konoha was the only village that didn't get attacked. The more he says, the more suspicious he could get.

At the end of the day, the Third Hokage could only face the three Kage with an awkward expression on his face.

- present-day -

Rasa watched the report in his hand, and just like the Third kazekage, he was also shocked by what he had read.

So that was Chisaki's thought of calling the Four-Kage meeting. Really, it was a good plan to spread wariness against each other and could help reduce the burden to Suna.

But then, Rasa noticed something strange. If it was really this case, then the three villages should siege Konoha together, but why was the next report said that Iwa was fighting against Kumo?

The more he looked at it, the more Rasa couldn't believe what he saw, so in the end, he could only gulp himself as he continued to read the report.
